Pleased Mr SA BP was ok. Hope your parcels arrive safely. I’m impressed - I put a prescription order in on Wednesday - it has arrived today. 2 minutes into the 1 hour slot the delivery company gave me 😀January spends - £587.584

The regular saver matured yesterday and I nearly had a panic attack as I thought it was going into my current account but it had gone into my holiday pot instead - phew. Interest was a paltry £12.12 on £3k. Have transferred the £12.12 into the Christmas pot. After paying the painter next week and buying new carpet/flooring the remainder will have to go to build savings back up again. I'll probably use it to feed a regular saver - one with a better interest rate though! The Coventry one with the better interest rate matures soon so I'll probably open a new one for next year. What I like about it is you can put any amount in up to £500 so not stuck with the same amount every month like the other one.
Had an email from the dog's insurance providers to say the price is going up by £3.24 a month from next month. As the dog is 10 now I was expecting to rise quite sharply so am happy with the £38 a year rise. I don't think I'll get a better deal to be honest.
The first extortionate gas/electric direct debit has gone out. I used the £150 CT rebate as a buffer this month, I think from next month I'm going to stop the standing order overpayment to the re-mortgage and just send what I can. It's not far away from being paid off now.
Took the dog on the park for a ball run this lunchtime, she enjoyed it, she gets way too overexcited even at 10.
Having a stir fry for tonight's dinner.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
I got about 36p on £3k with one of mine…I was so annoyed I withdrew everything except £100 to leave it open. They do themselves no favours. I posted it into pb’s…at least I know there’s no interest there and there’s always a chance of something. I just do random very small mortgage overpayments as and when. I wouldn’t dare tie in to a fixed amount, just in case.I want stir fry now 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Good news on Mr SA. I've always thought that men have rather more willpower when it comes to giving up smoking. The ex-Mr SSG used to smoke when I first met him and in the early years of our marriage. But he could give up just like that when it suited him.I managed to get a reasonable rate of 3.5% for a year on a regular savings account with my bank First Direct a couple of months ago. You can save up to £300 per month but do have to bank with them.I also have a savings account with Marcus. They are currently offering 1.30% with ready access to your funds and you can put in as much as you want. Also, they offer a fixed account at 2%.Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Happy Saturday 🥂
I’ve been busy this morning hence the late update.Went to the big Mr T this morning then to Wilko for some paint for the hall. Had loads of bits to pick up from the local shops too so was out a fair amount of time.DIL visited this lunchtime with DGD, DS stayed home with a poorly DGS (Covid). DIL and DGD tested negative so fingers crossed it’s not coming our way next. I ended up giving DIL money for DGD’s birthday as she couldn’t make up her mind what she wanted. I suggested premium bonds but they didn’t seem keen on the idea. DGD is looking forward to going shopping with her mum in the school holidays to spend it.
Mr SA has just taken the dog out for a scoot and has come back soaked. It keeps raining one minute, sunny the next, can’t make its mind up.Having beetroot burger, salad and sweet potato wedges for dinner tonight. Prosecco has been in the fridge since this morning.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -

tunathe_cat Have you tried googling complain about my GP. There is an NHS complaints procedure. They should not be causing this amount of trouble. I think I would begin with a formal letter sent by snail mail. I would send special delivery which although expensive does leave a paper trail if you need it in the future. Signed for is more problematic these days although you should still be able to confirm it has arrived. I would also mark it private and confidential so it should get to the right person.
I do find emails sometimes get "lost" in the general system. Make sure you keep copies of letters.

Tuna definitely complain, that is dire 🤬
NSD 2/12 today. Also won a lucky dip on the Lotto.
Have done a meal plan for the coming week and tracked it on my WW app:
Tonight is nut roast from the freezer with steamed Cornish new potatoes and loads of steamed veg
Monday is veggie sausage and sweet potato tray bake (using up veggie cocktail sausages from the freezer)
Tuesday is veggie gumbo (using up the last of the frozen okra)
Wednesday is scampi, wedges and loads of veg
Thursday is veggie chilli with baked sweet potato and salad
Friday is harissa prawn orzo
Saturday is veggie curry recipe tbc
Sunday is try a new recipe tbc
Because I have lots of basil at the moment, have made a batch of tomato and Basil soup for work lunches next week.Have cleaned the woodwork in the hall/landing ready for the painter next week. He’s texted me to confirm he’s coming, so all good on that front.Have done some tidying in the garden and filled the garden waste bin.Someone local has hired a singer for a party and they have been singing ALL afternoon. They have definitely had their money’s worth they seem to have been singing for hours. Gone through the 40s to the 70s by the sounds of it.Managed to get an hour in my hanging chair with my book. Unfortunately the dog kept bringing me her ball so not as relaxing as it should’ve been. She had been on the park earlier plus Mr SA took her out for a scoot, obviously not worn her out sufficiently.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
The menu plan sounds lovely.
I’m laughing at the singing…some people! 🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
