Received our water rates this week, pay monthly and have gone up by 50p a month, that’s all. Don’t think we will be as lucky with the council tax. Should receive this bill soon.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.003

My water rates haven't changed much at all over the last 3 years, but if I was completely honest I would rather they did put them up a bit & stop the nasty stuff going in our rivers & seas. It would also be better to use the money for that than to land up paying it out in fines. I remember what our beaches could be like 70 years ago & I cannot believe that we are still subjecting our children to the possibility of that. Absolutely unthinkable & actually getting worse each year!

@badmemory. Well said! We don't even have separate water rates in Scotland. It all goes in with the council tax and there is only one water authority -Scottish Water- who seem to do a decent job. I used to do surveys for them and most people were pretty happy with them. The latest thing the kitten has tried to steal was Mr SA’s quarter pounder left to defrost on top of the microwave. Fortunately it was in a bag but she’d managed to drag it under the dining room table. I have to watch her with anything remotely edible or she’ll have it away 😆 I can’t even leave a glass of water out because she drinks it despite having a bowl of water in the kitchen.
Mr SA went into the garden to feed the fish in his slippers and instead of using the path walked across the lawn. He brought a load of mud back into the house, I’d just mopped the floors and washed the doormat, I was so annoyed 😠 It wasn’t his fault apparently, he needs new slippers 🤬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
I think Mr SA loves new stuff. @Sun_Addict, I know you've had a spendy past life like me....... was Mr SA the same then, with wanting new gear, new stuff all the time?! Love how the current slippers trailed mud indoors, but new ones wouldn't!

SA it sounds like your kitten comes from the same bad cat school as my two, we can’t leave anything edible out or they’ll steal it. Old Cat loves scrambled eggs and croissants are another favourite!
Oh how irritating about Mr SA trailing mud in. 😩Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.2
