The vet couldn’t do the vaccination because the kitten has swollen teats and can’t be 100% sure she’s not pregnant. She said it could be hormonal. I think it’s to do with her being on heat but then I’m not a vet. I told her she hasn’t been out since we got her, the vet said if the kitten was pregnant she would’ve expected her to be bigger. She didn’t want to give the second jab as it could cause a reaction in a pregnant cat. So I’ve got to take her back in a week’s time. For goodness sake😩
I was talking to a woman in the waiting room with a beautiful French Bulldog, she had brought in one of its very poorly puppies. The vet brought the puppy out, she was only 2 weeks old and so tiny bless her.In the past we’ve taken two of our cats to be done only for the vet to ring and say they were a different sex to what we thought. We bought a marmalade striped kitten as a tom, turned out to be female. The vet wanted to check we still wanted her spaying as proper marmalade striped with no white females are very rare. Then we bought a pure white female who turned out to be male. No wonder our female cats kept spitting at him 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
My DS has a female dog that’s just had her first season so they are waiting to have her done in the Spring. We have been told that some vets go on the breed of the dog as to when they can do the op. Seems somebody has looked into it and how it affects bones, muscle, hormones and the likes and has now come up with different breeds having the op at different ages. One or two breeds of dogs were down as being nearly 2 before having the op. If your breed of dog were not on the list then the vet was to go to look at the breed closest to it.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.002

If you look at female humans who either have hysterectomies or early onset menopause, pretty much the same things apply. Maybe they should bring out HRT for animals too!ETA & no I am definitely not being sarcastic here.4

Glad to read your Christmas went off well SA. 👍
What a palaver with the kitten! I hope the next vet visit goes well. Talking about marmalade female cats - my DD's ginger female was the same - they thought they'd bought a tom kitten because ginger females are so rare, but when they took him for his first vet visit it transpired he was a she!!🙀Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I also had a ginger female cat. I didn’t know they were rare until someone asked why I hadn’t thought to breed from her. There are so many homeless cats and kittens out there it seems irresponsible to even consider it, poor things. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Ginger females usually have white bits, it’s when they don’t they’re rare. I’d always wanted a marmalade ginger tom, so was quite shocked to find I’d got a female. She was a lovely cat but unfortunately I found her dead in the garden when she was only 2. I think she’d been hit by a car although there were no obvious injuries. I was absolutely heartbroken she was my favourite cat. After days of gloomy weather the sun finally came out this afternoon 😎 Took the dog for a long street walk as I couldn’t face the mud on the park twice in one day.The house has had a good clean but no decluttering done yet.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Years ago my aunty bought my cousin a kitten and promised her when it was grown up they would let it have kittens. I was fourteen at the time but I was brought up with animals so when I was playing with it and it rolled on it's back I knew something wasn't right. I told Aunty that what she'd brought home was actually a tomcat and kittens would be unlikely. Aunty asked me how I knew. At this point I should probably mention that Aunty was not only a senior nurse, she was also a trained midwife...... 😂
When our cat came into season the noise that she made was so loud I was worried she'd wake the HT who was five at the time. The vet told me to give her half a piriton tablet every 24 hours and it did calm her down. She still offered herself to any male that came through the door but the noise stopped. She was spayed before it happened again thank goodness.5 -

Morning, happy Thursday, almost 2022 😱
Another riveting day planned today, the highlight being a trip to Lidl, how will I cope with the excitement.
I hate this time of year. Doesn’t help when we are very limited to where we can go because of Mr SA.I still need to look at finances but might as well leave it until tomorrow when I get paid.Looking back I’ve done quite a lot to the house this year, new door, windows, bedroom refurb, spare room refurb, had the kitchen painted. I want to refurb the living room next spring/summer, ideally get the bloke who did the bedroom to do it, he did a brilliant job. We’ve got two holidays to look forward to next year, Covid permitting. Only 4 months until the first one in April. Have missed going away this year.I need to get back on track with exercising and food tracking, been a bit off piste just lately. The job interview is 2 weeks today 💩 It would be fantastic if I could get my promotion in 2022. Aside from the extra salary it would increase my pension - I am on a 5 year countdown to retirement from January.Might start a new diary for the new year 🤔
