  • I remember the Vesta meals and angel delight. Butterscotch was my favourite. I still like vienetta ice cream.

  • I love Bird's trifle, I used to ask for it as a birthday treat. :)

I loved those Vesta meals as teenager. We didnt get them very often but a treat when we did. Never liked Arctic roll or vienettas but strawberry angel delight was wonderful. Never liked the chocolate or butterscotch though. To me chocolate should only be eaten as chocolate and only with more chocolate. Dont like anything chocolate  flavour even hot chocolate is a no no. Yeah I know I'm weird.
Definitely agree about chocolate, I hate hot chocolate, I like my chocolate solid 🍫 My weird quirk is I can only eat it with a black coffee, can’t eat it without. I can’t understand anyone who can just eat it ‘neat’ without a coffee 🤣
You get an extra hit of caffeine if you combine good chocolate with black coffee. A legal "high".

This is bringing back the memories! I had my share of Vesta meals - possibly more than my share! - and toast toppers were a regular thing in our house. Also lemon meringue pie from a little box. When supermarkets came on the scene in our area, Dad would buy a tray of Coca Cola, I think because he wanted to treat us. Mum would get a tray of barm cakes (a floury white bread bun) from the baker's in the next village and I'd help myself... the other side of our diet was home grown veg and wonderful roast meats - Mum was quite the cook. For some reason I gained weight in my teens...

It's interesting how we all remember those crispy noodles. They were the best.

@Sun_Addict, I got the Jamie book too and mine has also refused to download to my Kindle.
