The link posted earlier doesn't require you to be logged in.
    It also allows partial withdrawal

Letter says submit by 31/1/19. Might be worth a try?

I want to leave £1 in it, but I don't know the value of the final transaction of interest. Hence why I want to know the balance prior to withdrawal.

    Here's how to do that:

Select 'I wish to transfer my investment to a new Leeds Building Society account', choose 'Access Saver', 'Transfer part of my maturity' and put £1.00 in the box.

Then choose 'I wish to have my investment transfered to another bank account on maturity' and 'Transfer the full amount'.

That will have the desired effect: you'll get an access saver with £1 in there and the rest will get transferred to your bank account.

I still haven't had a letter but have used the form linked earlier to have the money moved to my current account, have to see whether they do this or not.
Check your LeedsBS account - it should say that maturity instructions have been received - the message appreared on my account and my partner's account the day after the instructions were submitted.

In case anyone is logging in regularly today: be aware that the Leeds online banking only updates the transactions once per day (just after midnight), so you won't see the interest today anyway.
True, credits don't appear in the list of transactions, but some credits (bank transfers) do seem to update the "available funds" figure.
  • My balance is still 7250 this morning.

Looks as though it'll need a manual kick later when the staff get in.

BTW I was one of those who 'made up' the balance to the full amount late last year.

I wish I could watch you giving a manual kick :)
  • I filled in the form yesterday, got a phone call not long after to confirm my instructions and then this morning, balance is still there!

I'm just going to go in branch tomorrow, get the balance updated and make a cheque withdrawal. Simpler I think.

I will have a look thanks, I think I had money from them before so they shouldn't need to confirm the details of my current account.

Hope it does as I need that money to start flowing into the new LBS saver, Virgin one, Santander one and the Nottingham one I am going to open as that money going out is most of my free salary lol

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
