Just booked for us after checking twice and then again that its all in order so hopefully we're fine. 2 adults, 1 child, and 2 infants. £106 which is fine, we knew the babies would be alot.
Will we have any problems having the 3 children? I remember a pop up when i tired a few weeks ago, but nothing came up this time (hence the three times of going through the process). the child will be 2 & 1/2.
Also what ID do our babies need? As i understand it no photo ID will be needed for the infants as the only mention of photo ID is for children (2-16) and adults. Am i correct? If it helps the trip is only to Belfast City. Finally, as we're allowed 1 buggy per infant, does our twin buggy count as 1 buggy meaning we can take our lads pushchair as the second buggy? Cheers all.0 -
How do we contact ryanair to ask them when the Bournemouth-Prestwick flight resumes0

I am disappointed that MSE had chosen to promote Ryanair £1 fare nonsense. Its makes me question the neutrality of the advice given here. Here are the facts:
1) There are very few £1 fares on days that anyone wants to go.
2) They tend to go from one obscure airport to another obscure airport. So you need to factor in the cost of transport to get to the place you actually want to go. Have you ever been to Glasgow Prestwick. Trust me its nowhere near to Glasgow. Frankfurt Hahn, nowhere near Frankfurt.
3) They leave at ungodly hours. This often means that you have to pay a fortune in taxi fares to get you to the obscure airport at 4h30 in the morning.
4) Unless you have some obscure debit card your mysteriously pay a fortune for using the debit card.
5) Unless you you print out your boarding pass you pay another small fortune to get one from them.
6) Then they charge you checked baggage fee.
Plus of course the taxes and charges.
Surely MSE must be aware of this?
The number of people who actually travel for £1 or £2 pounds return must be incredibly small.
Its a bit like me opening up a sandwich shop and offering sandwiches for 1p, if you come at 4h30 in the morning, pay with a visa electron, order it over the net and come with a printout to pick it up etc etc. But at every other time sandwiches were £4, like over lunchtime when people want sandwhiches, if they just come in and ask for one, would MSE do the 1p a sandwich advert for me?0 -
It is not a misleading offer, you just need to know how to work the system.
Get an Electron Visa (or sign up to Entropay but a small fee would apply)
Get access to a printer to print out boarding cards
Take hand luggage only
and most important of all - be flexible with dates
I have managed to get weekend flights for Saturday and returning Monday from Manchester to Brussels and Birmingham to Düsseldorf for £4 total! Not to mention lots of £2 flights Liverpool to Krakow/Dublin mid-week. I think it is great RyanAir is offering this opportunity for us to purchase flights at this price.
Just because you have not been able to get a flight for £2 does not make it a misleading offer. All promotions have T&Cs it is just a matter and understanding them and abiding by them.0 -

But if there ARE £1 fares, why shouldn't MSE 'promote' them? I'm not actually in agreement with you that MSE are PROMOTING them, they are highlighting the fact that there are some available.
In the same way as they are highlighting the fact that there are vouchers for food at various restaurants.
And just because the flights aren't on the days that YOU wish to travel doesn't mean they're not convenient days for other people.
And how close to London is London Gatwick? Don't you need to factor in the cost of transport from Gatwick, Heathrow or Stansted into London centre?
The flights may leave at 'ungodly hours' for you, but for others who wish to arrive at their destination early they may be perfectly timed.
Who says Visa Electron is obscure? Just because you may not have one doesn't make it obscure.
I think you'll find that many other airlines in a similar category now charge for checked luggage.
It's clear from your post that Ryanair and the way they operate their business doesn't suit you, but that doesn't mean to say it doesn't suit other people - so why shouldn't MSE highlight this offer?
After all, it IS supposed to be a money saving website.0 -
bainesaloe just isn't a sophisticated travel moneysaver yet, and seems to just want to ignore possibilities.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

You obviously couldn't be bothered to read this.

The sandwich shop analogy is valid although it has a flaw, the main one being the value of the sandwich and easy availability of alternatives. But just like food, the demand for flights varies with time and one of the goals of any airline is to boost sales in times of low demand. Load factors are very important.
For a lot of the Ryanair routes, getting a flight at £1 offers a substantial saving on the alternatives - let's say something like London Stansted - Madrid (which I got for £2 return), would be on BA for something like £80, minimum.
Let's say we changed it and let's say you could get a Apple Ipod for £1.00 just by paying by Electron and turning up at Stansted at 5am on a weekday with a printout voucher.
A lot of people wouldn't turn up as going to work is more valuable and pays more.
A lot of people wouldn't turn up as they have one or alternative already, hence their need is satisfied.
A lot of people wouldn't turn up as it would be too difficult to get to.
People that did turn up may not strictly 'need' the Ipod but the value gained for them exceeds the amount they expended (both in cash, and getting there).0 -

There you go, £1 flights do exist and the times are very good and the airports are not a million miles from where i want to go.
I love it when people are too stupid to use ryanairs website has it gives me the opportunity to buy fares at the above prices.0 -

Oh dear, another who has no idea about how to play Ryanair. I have travelled about 5 times this year for the advertised sale price. How did I manage to do that?....
On your Prestwick question, 45 minutes to Glasgow City Centre on the train. It will take you that long on the bus in rush hour from Glasgow Airport to the City Centre.0
