Does anyone know when October/November flights from Glasgow Prestwick to Bournemouth will be showing on Ryanair?

I need to book a flight for my dad from about the 19th October to about the 3rd November.

Any help would be gratefully received!

As said it appears Glasgow to Bournemouth is finishing but if your Dad can get to Edinburgh and you book today he can get £1 flights on 19 Oct return 4 Nov.
  • Jost found this discussion on Ryanair and they too are one of my bug bears. My wife and I have used them a number of times and haven't been entirely satified with the service as we have experienced the following problems;

    1. We had to purchase a separate bag at Stanstead because we booked two cases but only took one. Because the total weight was above the 15kg it was cheaper to buy a new bag than pay the excess. Our fault probably but the check in staff (employed by Ryanair) couldn't have been anymore unhelpful.

    2. At Barcelona we were 2kg over (as were many other passangers boarding. We removed two paris of jeans from a suitcase and put them into a carrier bag (as hand luggage). They made us go to the back of the queue as we had opened our suit case at the check in desk. Again, rude and abusive. This had happened to around 30 people on our flight. We have experienced this on more than one occasion with fellow travellers which delays check in and gives the impression of penny pinching.

    3. The point of "hard to avoid" extras is surely pushing the limit of morality. £5 per flight to pay by debit card! Is this legal? I understand that companies may charge a little extra to cover their costs but for a couple buying a return ticket, isn't £20 card charges profiteering?

    4. Now I read that they are charging £5 to check in online or extra to check in at the desk. Excuse me if I'm missing the point, but how do you enter the aircraft without checking in? Is there any way you can check in for free? Failing that, why don't Ryanair just charge a few pounds more for their flights and stop leaving everyone with a sour taste in their mouths?

Is this not false advertising that trading standards usually put a stop to? How do they beat it?

I will use an alternative if I can.

The answer is to look around and do not be taken in by this con.

It's not a con. Unfortunately there are too many thick people who don't abide by the rules and then cry foul.

Where's PolishBigSpender when you need him/her!

She's here, and she's thinking about adding to her thread... lots of new material ;)
This is obviously an advertising ploy as we all know. I have checked a flight to Rome in Sept and after they added taxes etc. £90 BA was £60 and with Ryanair you have a 15k baggage limit and no food. We go BA whenever we can, I would rather pay a bit more than travel in misery. The answer is to look around and do not be taken in by this con.
How is it a 'con' if you can fly for less with Ryanair than with BA? The fact that Ryanair consistently beat BA when it comes to reliability and lost baggage also comes into this - but of course, you can't possibly have a 90 minute flight without food!

As you say, it was your fault. You agreed to the terms and conditions when buying the ticket, so don't blame Ryanair for something that was your fault.

Ryanair's business model is based upon controlling costs very, very tightly. It's one reason why they aren't asking people to work for nothing (unlike BA!) - and one reason why they have a substantial amount of money in the bank.

Yes, you rightly were sent to the back of the queue. Other people were waiting - why should I have to wait, just because you were unable to use common sense and weigh your luggage before approaching the check-in desk? I would say that it's your inability to pack properly that delays check-in, not the attitude of the person working there.

You don't have to fly Ryanair. They aren't punishing you with unfair charges buried away in T&C's like the banks tried - if you don't like the charge, then you don't have to book. It really is that simple.
    4. Now I read that they are charging £5 to check in online or extra to check in at the desk. Excuse me if I'm missing the point, but how do you enter the aircraft without checking in? There are promotional fares available (lots of them, in fact!) which waive the check-in fee. As for people having sour tastes in their mouth - given that Ryanair are consistently around 300PLN cheaper for each sector from here to the UK, I really don't have problems with them.

Here's a hint everyone : if you don't like how Ryanair does business, then fly with BA or another flag carrier and pay three times the amount for the same flight. Meanwhile, those of us with common sense will keep taking Ryanair's flights and laugh at those who pay a ridiculous amount for BA.

I booked two return flights for two persons with Ryanair. Special offer £0.00 each, each way. WOW thats cheap, I thought, even when they add on a few quid for their 'services'. Total cost eventually paid after all of the add-ons, £84.00! That's not cheap.

What's not cheap about 42 pounds for a return flight per person? You wouldn't have had a hope in hell of getting such prices before Ryanair came on the scene.

Get a sense of perspective - the plane alone will cost somewhere between 70 and 85 million USD.

Anyway, no-one forced you to pay for Ryanair. You could just have easily paid more to fly with another carrier...but it's much easier to book the cheapest flight and then complain about it, isn't it?

Whichever side of this debate you are on, do you think RyanAir actually benefit from their policies?
My point is, would they be better off shouting that they did "Return flights to xxx for £42, typical fees included"? It strikes me that they get such a lot of stick when they don't need to.

Or do they get more custom from people who look at their flights for, say, £0.00 and still book them when it comes out at £42 than they would do if they advertised them at a typical price?
Or is it a case of all publicity's good publicity - i.e. the more people who moan, the more people talk about them?

Just wondered what other people's thoughts were. I know I'd prefer it if they advertised a typical price rather than a near impossible price.
