You don’t need to be mad to frequent the financial boards but it certainly helps to dull the pain.

A bit like undergoing a paradigm schiff.

You cannot deposit £2k into a regular saver and then add to it. The most you can deposit per month is £300 and some have a ceiling of £200 per month, Have a read of the MSE page linked in an earlier post.

That's also good to know but I was only looking for £500 max as per Colsten's post.

My mistake in not making my search clear. To clarify, I was only looking for greater than £500 month and at least 3%.
Huh? Are you trying to confuse me?

Also, where does the >3% suddenly come from?

Apologies. I will try to be more precise in future. I accept that my post were inconsistent.

Sometimes I set my parameters in my mind but fail to relay them in my communications. This was the case with the 3% which I deemed to be the minimum worthwhile rate for this particular discussion.

As I am a Nationwide customer and have my salary paid into my flex account, I have just opened a regular saver flex account.
The 2k I have lying around at home will be deposited into that account each month in smaller amounts up to £250

As a Nationwide customer you should also have opened the flexdirect account which pays 5% on a maximum of £2,500 terms and conditions apply. You could put that 2k lying around your home in straight away.

It may be that madlyn had already had the Nationwide FlexDirect account @ 5%. She, like many other posters refers to her account simply as Flex, which can cause confusion. This could be the FlexAccount, or shorthand for one of the other accounts with 'Flex' in the name:cool:
