Similar position to yourself - don't think I'll be renewing the Halifax one at 2%.

However, I still consider the Lloyds 2% and BoS 2% regular savers as good savings accounts when you consider them as easy access accounts (albeit with small monthly deposits).

Think I'll continue as long as they remain easy access and providing other easy access accounts are below 2%.

As well as the monthly reward on the Halifax reward current account dropping to £2 from October 1st - so that's £24 a year instead of £36.

So as long as there is a way to access my funds in the event I need them, I'm happy enough, and you can close the Halifax RS at any point to access funds.

Halifax & Bank Of Scotland Regular Saver

I see both Halifax and Bank of Scotland have REDUCED their regular saver from 2.5% to 2.0% (fixed) for new accounts. Existing ones continue at 2.5%. It also seems that NO withdrawals allowed during the year for the Halifax version although BofS do allow withdrawals.
    :(

The interest rate has gone back 2% from 30th October, the interest rate was 2% for a good six years with it being increased to 2.5% for just under a year (December 17 - October 18)

As per T&C's your interest rate won't change till the account matures, so if you have an active RS it will remain on 2.5%. The new account will be at the lower rate, withdrawals are not allowed for Halifax but it can be closed early and interest added up to closure.

Lloyds have also reduced its monthly saver to 2% from 2.5% and Club monthly for 3% to 2.5%.

Does anyone know when Leeds Building Society make the bank transfers for matured regular savers?

My Issue 9 matured yesterday and maturity instructions were logged (and confirmed by letter). Should I expect the bank transfer to land in my current account today?

I made another attempt yesterday to start saving with the Scottish Building Society and I really don't think its worth the effort.

I opened an online saver which was straight forward - thinking that once I had that up and running I would be eligible for a regular saver.

This morning though an email from them - they cant verify my bank details - no explanation as to why as its our main bank account that we have had for 30 odd years. Perhaps that's the issue - that its in both sets of initials.
I wonder if they will accept an email attachment of a bank statement.
I've no idea what a cancelled cheque is and the only pay in slip I get is a receipt for the odd times I pay in at a branch, maybe half a dozen times a year.

"Further to your request to open a new online saver account. Unfortunately we were unable to verify your bank details, could you please send a cancelled cheque, pay-in slip or an original bank statement for your nominated bank account to allow to us open your account".

    mhoc,

Does your bank account of 30 years appear on your credit report? Mine of 40 odd years doesn't and whenever I need to quote a bank account for id purposes I have to use use one I opened in 2015.

My two existing both mature on December 1st. If that's the rate of the continuation I won't be continuing. I'm not being tied in to 2% for 12 months.

On reflection I may continue with a BoS RS as that allows unlimited withdrawals. It's being locked in to new account paying 2% that I didn't fancy.
