Party Plan

Hi
I do Stringfellows party plan and I had also heard they had some bad press so I really looked through everything before I signed up. It seemed like a good plan and the products are great so I decided to give it a go.
I really love it, the products are great, I earn good money and everyone is really supportive and friendly - so I'm not sure where the bad press came from!
I think party plan is like everything else, for some people it really works - for me it fits it around the children and my part-time work, for others it isn't going to work however good the company or products are.
I also do the occasionally market research and really enjoy that too! But again, this wouldn't be for everyone.
To make money part-time you need to be motivated in what you are doing and enjoy yourself - it makes all the difference. :j0 -
Hi
I've been an ann summers rep on and off for about 7 years now. I left after i got married and then realised how much i missed the money so re-joined. You don't have to pay any outlay up front just £3.50 per week kit rental until you bank £1200 (it may have changed to £1300) or a maximum of 32 weeks. The kit is valued at £500 and you have to return £500 of products when you leave should this be 2 months or 20 years!
I love my job but getting the parties can sometimes be hard especially round xmas. You do need to be outgoing but it is a job that will build up your self-confidence. Ann summers are a great company to work for the competitions they run are unbelievable and i wouldn't have enough room here to list all the stuff i've won over the years!
As with any party plan business you need to weigh up the pros and the cons it is easy money but you have to take the good with the bad. You could work 1 night at earn £150 and the next night you may only earn £60.
Check out their website for more info.0 -

I recieved an email from the distributor in my area and then was sent some catalogues. After viewing the catalogues and seeing the business opportunity, I decided to test the water and work purely as an agent, getting orders from family, work colleagues etc. The catalogue was really popular and I managed with a bit of hard work to get quite a few orders for the distributor. After quite a few problems with the distributor and some upset I earned the grand total of £14 for two months work! This massive earnings also had to be spent on products in the chocolate catalogue so wasnt even cash! Im now looking into becoming a distributor myself:- well thats if I pass my driving test which is coming up! I guess the distributors get the "lions share" of the profits made. I certainly wouldn`t treat people how I was treated!
Sorry for the rant but wanted to warn people if you want to make a decent amount of money dont work as an agent/ office angel!
Can I just correct this, you were not working for yourself here as an agent you were in fact a customer of the distributor or agent as you put it and you were earning commission to spend on chocolate the same way as if you held a virgin vie or ann summers party. If you only had £14 worth of commission that means that your sales would only have been £140 which is a very small order. The average order at Christmas is £650 and Easter is £350.
I have been a Chocoholics Distributor for six years and can give you lots of information becoming a distributor if you wish. Its very hard work but the rewards are excellent, although we only have two seasons you do work almost full time which is why they don't take on people who work throughout the year.
I sold £42,500 in 10 weeks at Christmas and with prices starting at 10p let me tell you that is a lot of chocolate coming through your door.
By the way can I also point out that commission is paid @ 10% in Chocolate and 7.5% if taken in cash.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.
Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz0 -
Hi,
I have been invited to a party which sells supposedly decent quality cookware, which is from the U.S... It is called chef something or something like that, but as I have never heard of it before I am bit wary that it is just a scam... Has anyone been to one or know what it is called so I can do some research?
Any feeback would be great!

JenI love comping! Just waiting for the call from ITV!

I did the Body Shop parties until recently but to be honest it was really hard.
I struggled to get the parties, and my leader was not supportive at all.
2 parties cancelled on me because of berevements and she was not happy that I had not got them to re-arrange straight away - like they wanted mithering. Also, I was promised flexible working hours to fit in around my full time job and was told that I could do as many or as few parties as I liked. That all changed when I had a busy month where there was an Audit in work, I was moving house and my Mum had to have an operation.
I told my leader that I wouldnt be doing any parties for a month and she absolutly balled me out over the phone !
Needless to say, she was told where to put her Bodyshop and I havent done any parties since - I wonder what she thought of the feedback form I had to fill in for HO !
Love,

Hi guys, Wow stringfellows sounds like fun but wouldn't leave where I am now as I am one of the lucky ones with plenty of support and training around me I guess everyones experience is different especially as you did so well with AS.
I was invited to a pampered chef party but got scared off by the fact it involved COOKING!!!!!!!!
I am going to a Virgin Vie party at the w/end has anyone been to one? what are they like? I went on the website and was shocked at some of the prices so does anyone know if they are value for money? x.0 -

Yes I was a customer of the distributor and got orders from friends family and work ppl... I was hoping to earn some commission for Xmas... anyway that didnt happen and I was only offered the 10% in chocs, no cash was offered.
Regardless of my "small order" - it all goes to the distributors total sales.
I would like to have a go at becoming a distributor myself, I contacted Chocoholics again a few weeks ago as I wanted to order the sheep candle from the easter catalogue, but was told there was now no distributor in my area, so this may be a good time to contact regarding the next season.
Id like to find out a bit more about setup costs etc......0 -
Due to me working full-time chocoholics is going to be no good for me, so Im thinking of joining Stringfellows, Ive submitted my details and am hoping to here back. my problem is getting the parties tho as my family and friends arent the types to have a Naughty goodies and toys party. I know a few people advertise in the local press and on staff info boards, but I work for a charity and dont think my colleagues would appreciate the advert!0

i do body shop parties
i joined in november did my 6 parties mid december and was then led to beleive i could carry on partying at my leisure, i didnt hear from my manager until february when she called to say they wanted my kit back as i have partied, i could only keep it if i get £150 sales by friday (this call was on a tues)
i didnt arrange any parties as it wasnt suitable for me as i have other priorities at the moment, but i still have my kit and she hasnt been in contact so i guess it was just an empty threat!
i have to say its been really hard to get many parties booked, but im determined to make more than £30 with this, so any ideas on finding new hosts would be great!!0
