Tbh - I think this is the first time the "wonky donkey" has worked in my favour:cool:.
I love salad nicoise but fresh tuna is one of the very, very few foods I'm not keen on. Not a definitely won't/can't eat, if I went to someone's house and they had made I would eat it but it would be a struggle - it's texture rather than taste thing as most of my food dislikes are! I do like the jarred or tinned stuff and I've a nice jar of Greek tuna & all the rest of the ingredients so no excuse not to make one. Might wait until the garden beans are ready though.:)
Dinner is definitely on the beige side, chicken kiev & oven chips, though with plenty of green on the side - french beans, spinach & peas.0 -
I'm fussy how the tuna is cooked so tend to only eat it if I've cooked it
over cooked and it's dry and yuck. And I only buy it reduced from the fish counter :money:
It's too hot to wear the catall the noise and coming and going from next door is stressing my scaredy-cat and he's feeling cuddly

Over cooked & dry I definitely couldn't do even to be polite:eek::eek:
Bet when it's freezing "His Lordship" won't want cuddling :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
With a house move in mind - and no forwarding address - I've been trying to nibble away at things in the cupboards that really need eating. Ultimately, if I don't eat some things they will have to be binned as everything's going into storage except a couple of suitcases of clothes and my PC.
Yesterday I finished an opened bag of spiral pasta by making a pasta salad (well, pasta + mixed herbs + salad cream), served with one boiled egg (the last one) and half a jar of pickled beetroot. I didn't have any other things I could've put with that.
Just been to L1dl. Pleased to report: I didn't buy sweeties, or crisps, or biscuits or ice cream
I bought a loaf of bread and a cucumber. I bought eggs yesterday evening, so lots of egg/cucumber sandwiches chez moi today. Looks like a scorcher.
A moving date is likely to be 4-5 weeks from now .... so it's that limbo time when you hope/think it'll actually happen, but can't ever be sure until the last bit. Until exchange you live on the edge.0 -
That was fast repair Caron, sometimes the "disabled" flag really works. I remember my mum had Open reach come out on Christmas Day, she relied on her [STRIKE]round neck [/STRIKE]in bedroom drawer really thingy to summon help if needed. Felt sorry for the bloke, dull, cold & wet poking inside a junction box on a bleak country lane
Today is another scorcher, porridge breakfast then fed the pots out the front. While there the postie arrived with a parcel, my loose tea order, spot of luck, last time it was trip to sorting office
I've defrosted a rump steak, duly bashed & now marinating for dinner.
It'll be with HM chips and probably salad, but fried eggs & beans is also an option
Lunch destined to be YS rolls with cheese & pickle innards
Deep Joy, the mixed coloured beetroot I sowed last week is now up and showing it's colours
Plus, the new magic number machine arrived from bank and I now can see my accounts, cash ISA still not showing but baby steps, secure message sent so giving it timeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
I know my Dad was regarded as a priority customer as he had an alert system but as I don't I just assumed I wasn't. Mind you many moons ago when I was very heavily pregnant with my younger son BT were very good when my phone line died and were there within a couple of hours of the fault being reported. Just as well it got fixed pronto as my waters broke a couple of days later while my hubby was at work (baby was three weeks early!) and of course no mobile phones then!
Breezy & damp here this morning, it's supposed to perk up a bit later on.
I'm just back from a quick trip to the library so plenty of books now to keep me going for a bit.
Assuming it doesn't pour the garden beckons this afternoon as it's needing some tlc and re-planting done.
Oatcakes & brie again for lunch with salad & fruit. I'm not sure about dinner tonight possibly a venison burger or some steamed fish.0 -
I'm having jacket potatoes for brunch. I'm doing them in the oven so they will be a while, maybe I will have them with baked beans.:)0

Farway my mum rarely wore hers even after she fell in the garden and broke her neck in her mid 80s  she managed to crawl in doors and then had to wait 4 hours until found. When she got to 90 she got 'naughty' if she thought she wasn't getting enough attention and press it[STRIKE] for reaction[/STRIKE] by accident
I'm due to start working shortly so spent the morning washing and tidying as well a cooking a puy lentil/tomato/veg thing for dinner. I'm not sure what time work will finish if on time 7.30pm but has been known to be after midnight so I've taken a piece of cod out of the freezer and can quickly cook that and heat up the lentils on the run
Early lunch was an omelette made from LO new potatoes, broccoli and some spring onions with a sprinkle of blue cheese over the top and a small pile of tomatoes and spinach
It's getting muggy here and is a little cloudy, hopefully nothing will come from it as I've three loads of washing on the line including my winter dressing gown which his lordship likes to sleep on and I'm draft enough to leave it on my bed for himso it's second wash since I stopped wearing it
