    Good evening everyone,
I could get used to this being a "lady who lunches" - shame I don't have the bank balance to go with it:rotfl::rotfl:.
I had a really lovely time with my "old" pals today, we've all known each other for 40+ years and while our individual lives have followed varied paths we've kept the bond over the years we developed as youngsters. We went to the new Italian restaurant and the food was absolutetly delicious . I had a simple dish of mixed meat skewers with summer veg and the chef certainly has a deft hand with the grill as the meat was cooked to perfection. The others were equally pleased with their choices. I was stuffed but a couple of us managed puds which we all had a taste of and they were just as good a panacotta with the just amount of wobble and a deep filled cheesecake with a gorgeous lemon filling. Both came with a ramekin of gorgeous icecream that they are making themselves. I'll definitely be heading back there when I get a chance as it was well priced for the standard of cooking and the service attentive but not in your face. I just hope it lasts as it was quiet today but the owner was saying that they are full in the evening Thurs-Sun so happy to let the lunch time business grow over time and overall it's doing better than their forecast is for the first few months after opening. Certainly our local FB page is full of folk who have been and loved it as well as those saying they would advise booking as they had tried for a table on spec unsuccessfully.

After a warm & dry but overcast start to the day the sun broke through just as we were finishing lunch so we headed back to mine and sat nattering in the garden for a few hours. All in all it's been a great day.:D
Needless to say I'll not be wanting much for dinner tonight, I have some LO noodles/veg from last night which will do nicely. :)

One of the advantages of work is the air conditioning :D one of the disadvantages is working through lunch again

It rained briefly this morning just after 7am, annoyingly just after I watered. It was only a quick shower lasted about 15 minutes so I suppose the water was needed :)

Lunch was smoked salmon and egg watercress salad. Dinner was a HM burger (without the bun) with airfried chips runner beans, broccoli and corn on the cob

They were both lovely and really well made, but I knew I couldn't do a pud justice. :)

I had toast followed by a cheeky packet of crisps.:rotfl:

I am going to have some fresh melon later. I'm not sure what to have to eat as I'm not sure if I'm going to eat out tonight. I'm going out at 5 so I will probably have something light, maybe pasta again.

I've put on weight.... it looks like quite a bit, I've a belly.

I guess I'll have to actively monitor my sweeties and chocolates intake.

Earlier in the week I did pick up a 5-pack of 30g doritos - and scoffed the lot. Yesterday I bought four egg custard tarts and ate two + a bag of jelly babies + a bag of other sweets which I think I've eaten and can't even remember what they were :)

Today I kind of half plan a toad in the hole, mash and beans - but it's far too warm/muggy at the moment to make that a valid choice. We'll have to see.

Another hot sunny day, into L's on spec, only YS was sis pack of rolls, 20p, popped in basket, do me for a bit.

Nothing lase of note, meant I needed to think about making something for dinner.

Lunch was last of YS bacon, in YS rolls + brown sauce
I've taken a salmon fillet out to defrost. I'll fry that in spot of oil / butter & have with salad for dinner

More watering, so dry without rain

I'll blame the house viewings/potential sale.

As I've "sat and waited for it all to happen", not wishing to leave the house in case I missed a call for a viewing etc, and amending what I was eating from SC proper meals to food I can eat in a hurry in case there was a call, I became used to bringing in too many snack foods, then eating them. Sometimes the agent would phone and say "somebody in the office, can they come and view?" so I didn't want to ever be in a position to say "half way through prepping a huge proper meal and eating it, so no". And my "occasional sweetie treat" ended up being at the top of every shopping list....

    Worra glutton.

    :)

There's no excuse to be fat .... it's just gluttony.

    Good evening everyone,
Oh no PN what a blow, the old "moment on the lips a lifetime on hips", I must have too many "moments" is all I can say:o...... Hopefully once house things settle down it will shift.
I discovered my internet connection had died this morning it's been a bit erractic recently but I put it down to upgrading work going on the area. However, this is now finished and the usual remote fixes didn't get it going. For once, I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with the service as an engineer called this afternoon and I know have a nice new hub box. I was all set for a "what do you mean a fortnight!!" conversation but it seems when I had previous phone issues the engineer had noted that I was disabled and reliant on services so apparently I'm a priority customer. There are lots of rights & wrongs with this approach but tbh I'm not complaining life is enough of a battle without finding "wars".
However it did mean I was hanging about for most of the day and couldn't make the most of rather nice weather. My garden is needing a fair bit of tlc so that will be my weekend sorted, I may also have indulged in some more bedding plants as some of my early blooming ones are definitely heading past their best and I couldn't resist when I got a sale offer for garden ready large plugs which including delivery worked out at 25p per plant. :) These arrived late afternoon and are in good shape, they're having an overnight rest after being squished in a box and I'll start planting them out tomorrow. Apart from my Autumn pansies plugs which are already booked and paid for they will be my last plant spends for this year. Overall I'm £2 over the rather arbitary annual budget I set for plants, compost etc. which I'm happy to live with:D.

With all the internet shennagins food has taken a back seat today, lunch was oatcakes with brie & IKEA lingonberry jam, cucumber sticks and grapes. Dinner will be a freezer rake and no doubt will be beige and bunged in the oven with some nuked steamed veg to go with it.

That's impressive service Caronc, it looks like that donkey is finally paying something back for a change :)

Not the usual Friday :j as I'm working tomorrow  I had said no originally but unfortunately we're a small team and it needs two of us. I had said I can't do the next two which isn't a lie, I've just ensured I've booked stuff for those two Saturdays :D

I managed a walk lunchtime and popped in to W*itrose just for bananas and picked up 2 jars of roberts*n marmalade YS 22p each in a basket at the till :D I don't eat a lot as I can't eat a lot of bread but it's dated feb 2022 so will keep and my sister eats it when she comes to stay. I also have a recipe for marmalade cake :D

I seared some tuna with a black sesame seeds whilst cooking dinner last night and lunch was a salad nicoise with potatoes salad but no french beans, to keep the potatoes lower calories I stirred some horseradish into some FF cottage cheese, with gherkins and capers rather than mayonnaise :)

For dinner I stir fried some frying steak and raided the veg drawers to make stir fry veg, no bean sprouts but I usually end up having to find half a pack a good home
