Dull and spits in the wind. More determined stuff due tomorrow
Asda delivery this morning, with some minor subs. Only spotted, too late, one ready meal is past date, Use by 29 Aug. Luckily is is a veggie one, so no meat / fish to worry about. I've asked for refund, and will probably sniff & eat it tonight
The lamb curry was a fail. Still dry but now curry flavoured and spicy. Not having much food luck lately.
Among my other woes I tumbled in the kitchen last night & bonked my head on the counter as I went down, I now sport a cracking black left eye and an achey left knee
Apart from that, all's well 😁
Lunch, cold LO pizza
Dinner, the out dated RM Tomato & Mozzarella pasta bake, or maybe not

Good morning everyone,
On no Farway sounds like a sore one! My final suggestion for the lamb would be a longer simmer in a Scotch broth until it pretty much breaks down. Perhaps given your recent run of luck the OOD RM might not be a good idea……
Another manky day here, I didn't light stove last night but it's definitely on the cards soon. Another day of general bits and bobs to do.
We both really enjoyed the miso cod dish so on the make again list. Last portion of the unfrozen pea & ham soup for lunch. Making this Italian-Style Skillet Chicken with Tomatoes and Mushrooms | The Mediterranean Dish tonight using vermouth rather than white wine, IUt's a dish I've made in various guises since the 1980s so will be adding some shallots and fresh basil. I'll serve it with new potatoes and salad.

Oh dear Farway this is not your week is it.
Catch up with a friend this morning and along with our cuppa we shared a ham & cheese toastie for an early lunch.
My neighbour brought me some more of his gardeners delight tomatoes yesterday so a quick visit to aldi and I got some 50% off ss peas and 50% off a bag of watercress, spinach & rocket, also got a buffalo mozzarella so dinner tonight is not quite a caprese salad but a nice peppery one to go with the sweet toms.

Hope you feel okay Farway.
I had a sandwich meal deal from Sainsbury’s for lunch and I’m going out for dinner.

ouch Farway I hope no lingering aches and pains from your tumble.
Last of my bookshop volunteering until the 12th unless I can make the team meeting. It was raining on and off so a quiet day. Nice premium bond win this morning, decisions decisions something practical or not?
Call from my decorator this morning pushing the prep work from Friday to Saturday which is ok with me, the plasterer comes Monday. Gives me an extra day to sort everything.Too lazy last nice to prep lunch for today so I made a quick fruit salad to take in for lunch and raided the biscuit tin for a couple of cookies.
Spinach a feta filo spiral for dinner with salad, brought when on offer. LOs for lunch tomorrow

Dull start but supposed to brighten later. Sun is trying hard
The bruises and aches from my tumble are starting to fade, still looks a mess but improving.
Congrats Brambling on the bond win, nothing here again
The OOD RM, my luck may have turned. Ate it last night and still here, plus Asda have fully refunded me for it. And had a cheque for unused Road tax on the MOT failed & scrapped car.
Lamb, I've given up and it will be in the bin, bin day tomorrow.
Also tomorrow is chiropodist, so I'll be around later than usual
Lunch, salad sandwich
Dinner, Cheese & onion pasty, AF chips & salad

Good morning everyone,
Glad the aching isn't too bad Farway and that you're still standing after OOD RM!
I've had a slow start after a disrupted night when my sis's pooch had a dicky tum. He's getting tests next week as he has lost weight so 🤞it's something and nothing. Always a worry but he seems fine in himself.
Thundery showers and the odd glimpse of sunshine here today. Feeling a few degrees cooler again.
LOs & fridge bits for lunch. Trying a dish from Hugh F-W's High Fibre book for dinner - cauliflower, tofu and cashew nut bake. We'll have it with rice and either green veg or salad.

I'm making about 4% this year Farway 😁
Went to Tescos this morning with a small list which grew as I walked around, I did return some stuff to the shelf which I suppose is the benefit of using their hand scanner! And typically I got home and realised no milk 🙄 I did pop back to Waitrose after 6pm so no faffing with parking and I had a 50p off voucher, it's also next to Sainsburys and I needed petrol.
I picked up some reduced baby squid half price from their fish counter and watched her bag up reduced halibut and Dover soles in large packs to put on top of the counter all well over £30 and that's the reduced price, they usually just bag up in one or two size portions but I'm assuming as they had so much she was bagging it that way. I can't cook halibut and didn't want £32 worth of Dover soles although I'm assuming as it's Waitrose they probably have those customers.
I'll confess to picking up a two pack of custard tarts for 40p YS in Tescos which ended up as a late lunch with a cuppa 😋
Mushroom stroganoff and rice with broccoli for dinner.
I thought I was losing the plot earlier but it seems I had hit the microphone button on my iPad key board and it was typing random text from the TV 🙄

Oh no @Farway - hope you are feeling better. Have you had it checked out to see if you need anything done for it. It sounds like it really hurts.

I just had toast and Flora. It feels almost Autumnal today and it has just poured with rain. I'm not complaining as I hated the heatwaves so much.
My class last night was totally dull! I really regret coming back from Brighton for that!
I am going to have to use up the potatoes today and the rest of the veg. I might make a roast dinner.
