    Morning!

Wasn't the weather horrible yesterday?! Here it poured with rain most of the day, finally stopping around 3pm, so too late to do anything. I'd had a rainy trip to the garden centre for a coffee and panini, which was nice.

I've had a coffee and biscuits for breakfast... Although I'm committed to not buying any more biscuits (because, diet) once the current ones in the tin are gone. There aren't loads left. They'll certainly be gone by the end of next week. I'm not concerned about not having any sweet treats in the house. If they don't exist, I don't really miss them. Having them there, makes me want to eat them!

I'll probably have some eggs and fruit a bit later. Then for dinner I've got portion number 2 of a roast chicken I did yesterday. I'll do that with a big mound of cauliflower and probably some mash.

I'd halfheartedly thought about going to a food festival today, but it's a good 20 minute drive away, not free entry, and I'm dieting anyway! I'd previously invited a friend to come, but she's had to go and visit her FIL, and I'm not bothered enough to go on my own, and spend money on stuff I don't need. It's still nice to go to things for the experience, but I can't quite make myself care enough this time.
Because it's fun to have money!

    ... smallest bedroom...

That was on my list of house dreams, ideally just what they'd call a study, so something about 5'x6', just to put "stuff" - because there's a lot of stuff in life to trip over, especially the smaller the house as there's a core amount of stuff required whether one's in a 1 bed flat or a 6 bed mansion. I can't/won't/don't use the attic ever as they petrify me :)

Just a small room where all the spare stuff goes.

At the moment, it looks out of the question.

    Good morning everyone,
Dry but breezy here but no sign of rain:) , my "wonky donkey" is quieter today so my sister is picking me up early afternoon and we are going to get a takeaway coffee and have it by the sea. Today would have been my Mum's 78th birthday so lots of shared and individual memories to reflect on. It's hard to believe it's over 16 years since she died. After coffee we are heading to do some more clearing out at my Dad's.
The chicken crown hasn't fully defrosted so I won't be slowcooking it, I'll pop it in the oven later to roast. I might make up some stuffing and have a full "chicken dinner" as not had one for ages.

Back from DS's, no luck on a lunch offering;)
Made a cheese & piccalilli sarnie once back home

Salmon fillet out to defrost, think it's going to be that plus frozen chips + salad, easy and nutritious if we gloss swiftly over the chips

Tied up the bit battered tomatoes outside. Not too concerned with them as they were the left overs just bunged in instead of binning them

    Good evening everyone,

Yikes didn't realise series 3 is on tonight, I've still most of series 2 to watch!! (Will need to see if I can remember how to use the DVD player:o)
It was lovely sitting by the sea earlier, there was a chilly breeze but I had a fleece on. It was really clear so the view was wonderful and it certainly blew the cobwebs away:). We managed to get a fair bit done at my Dad's, slow progress but getting there now.
Crackers & cheese with salad for lunch before my sis picked me up and the chook is just about to go in the oven, it shouldn't take much more than 1/2 an hour as it's a boned and smallish crown. I'm swithering whether to make stuffing to go with it or just stick with mash & various veg. Mind if I do I could have a cold chicken & stuffing roll for my packed lunch tomorrow. I'm not sure how long for or exactly when I'll be a my Dad's so best to be prepared. I must remember to take some milk & biccies with me so I can offer the guys a cuppa.:) Forecast is looking ok so will pack my weedkiller gubbins and get his patio & chipped area sorted out. My nephew is going to help later in the week with the heavier stuff I can't manage.

I love wrapped up sitting by the sea watching the waves especially when it's not too busy :).

I was brought a gift this morning a dead squirrel left on the door mat  it wasn't there when I let his lordship out but appeared when I looked out an hour later. It could have been worst I'm lucky he didn't carry it over two fences and through the cat flap  it looked a young one :( I've been giving him a over the counter supplement as advised by the vet and a colleague for his stiffness I assume they are working :o

I went into town today with my sister there was a Spanish event in the town centre, food stalls, music and dancing :) luckily the weather was better than yesterday just one heavy shower. Lunch was sampled from the food stalls followed by a shared pot of churros with chocolate sauce :D. My sister palmed off a courgette plant on me she was gifted so I now have three :o not sure what I'll do if all three do well  :rotfl:

Dinner was bubble and squeak with bacon and egg and a dollop of piccalilli. I made a lamb biryani for a couple of dinners, I halved the recipe but there's at least three portions, I burnt the first pan and had to decant it into another one, manky pan is in soak.

Pattypan were they HM ginger biscuits :)

Woke up to rain, that stopped my master plan of potting on stuff today, well I could do it but the shrubs I intended potting on are now dripping wet. Plenty of time over next few weeks so not urgent

Usual porridge breakfast, then bunged a cheat instant packet bread mix loaf in the Panny because the LO HM stub is a bit dry now & CBA to weigh out flour at that time of day

Just removed the quickie loaf, it looks gorgeous, maybe a cheat packet mix but it's turned out well. Asda white if anyone cares to know

Lunch, has to be sarnie with fresh HM warm white bread. Probably cheese + salad bits filling

Dinner, toying with idea of RM roast beef dinner in a Yorkie. Not expecting much TBH, it was only a quid full price, so I may continue with the sarnie theme, see how I feel later today

I have a grocery delivery due this afternoon so used up the last couple of slices of bread for toast and tea for breakfast as well as a very ripe banana.

Very cross with sainsbobs as they phoned to say they could not deliver to me on the 25th of May. I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. They were very quick to take money from the bank and I am still waiting for a refund. I have been trying out Morrison's in the last week and have been quite impressed especially by their wonky fruit and veg.

Hoping to go through my stock of tins and packets later so I can find things easily as it was a godsend a month ago when I got a nasty virus. Having long life milk, tins of soup etc and bread in the freezer meant I did not have to try to get dressed and walk to local shop when I was feeling sick and dizzy. I know DDs would have been glad to help but I want to feel self sufficient if I can.

I have some home made chicken broth so will have some for lunch and tonight with a sandwich or something on toast which will be quick and easy. Should have lots of fruit and veg delivered so will try to get five a day if I can.

I sent a dd off yesterday with some left over dinner and some packets of pasta, fruit and stock cubes so the fridge is looking empty just now.
