Am I the only person who finds that if I just shove things in a cupboard I can find them but if I put things away carefully I cannot find them for love or money?
I was looking for the turmeric I had carefully put away so I could make Golden paste to see if it helped my knees. Could not find it anywhere so eventually had to order more which should arrive today. Sod's law I will find the original pack in a few days but it is annoying."This site is addictive!"

^ I know people who say that turmeric really helps them with inflammation.
I'm feeling sick today, I ate far too much white bread yesterday!
It's pouring with rain here.0 -
Its not just me aching then, the cool and wet weather, no good at all for joints or cheerfulness. Bed socks last night, I mean, in june!! Back to good carefully thought out food again, I found some great breakfast cereal called fuel, it is like a more compressed weetabix but contains more protein. It doesn`t half soak up the milk or mylk but keeps me pretty full to lunch. Lunch was salad with small potatoes and a yummy mustard mayo, bought in my (now) local shop, had that salad with a puy lentil thingie, followed by a rm summer pud and creme fraiche. Will have a berry/granola/yog mix for my last meal
I got my cooking mojo back a bit but am not pushing it. Spelt dough in the panny and 8 rolls now baked in the small oven
Its pouring right now, belting down, yuk. Grey dull and am glad to be here and not on holiday in a tent0 -
then bunged a cheat instant packet bread mix loaf in the Panny because the LO HM stub is a bit dry now & CBA to weigh out flour at that time of day
Just removed the quickie loaf, it looks gorgeous, maybe a cheat packet mix but it's turned out well. Asda white if anyone cares to know
Sounds like a good one to have on standby Farwayalthough a breadmaker is one of the gadgets I don't own

And it's usually in plain sight when you go to put the new pack away
Horrid wet day here, I'm assuming another gift from the south west  if we have much more I fear my tomatoes will drown, unfortunately the weather means I will need to go out with the slug death as my hostas and chilli plants have been attacked, it's the snails who seem to like the hostas, the darker leaf ones are surviving the others must be more tasty
Lunch was a large chicken salad which wasn't very appropriate for the weather and dinner will be lamb biryani made last night so just a few minutes required in the microwaveLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It's quite chilly here. It feels like we are going into Autumn as he has been so dark and dreary.
I just had a hot shower and put on some warm socks.:D
The last thing I ate were some crackers with Marmite.2025 GOALS

Good evening everyone,
:eek: re the dead squirrel Brambling at least it was outside rather than lovingly brought into the house;)
Nope elona you are not alone, my kids tease me re my ability to quickly locate something in a jumbled cupboard:cool:.
Sounds as though we pinched the good weather, though it was short lived as a couple of hours ago it suddenly darkened and we had a heavy, though short, thundery rain/hail shower. I'm hoping it hasn't undone all the weedkiller applying I did at my Dad's earlier. Needless to say the "wonky donkey" is less than impressed by the rapid weather pressure change.....:(
I did cook a small dish of stuffing last night but opted for a cheese & tomato roll for my packed lunch today as I wanted to make it up before I ate last night. I knew I had to be up and functioning/organised from 8am today but in the end up it was later in the morning before I had to go to my Dad's so would have had time. Chicken & stuffing sarnie is planned for tomorrow.:D
There's more chicken left than I thought there might be, certainly enough for dinner tonight, lunch tomorrow and possibly lunch on Wednesday. Tonight I'm keeping it simple and having some with salad, corn cob and roasted Jersey Royal spuds.0 -

Worst 'gift' was from previous cats, I came home to a very large and very much alive pigeon flying around the lounge/ dining room.:eek: no idea which cat and how it carried it in through the cat flap. The cats were ignoring it and demanding food  I spent the evening cleaning once I caught it
There was a lot of surface water driving home tonight and it's still heavy rain, luckily there was no flood water to cope with. Days like today I miss working within walking distance. I'm determined not to put my heating back on so it's been an extra jumper and keep moving

I'm not sure what's worst the small very fast rodent (usually shrews here) darting under small gaps or trying to catch a flying bird although if you open the door sometimes you can wave a towel to guide them out. Frogs move surprisingly fast and scream  I did have a frog when I first moved here with a death wish as it would hop in the back door.
I must be mad to have gotten another cat :rotfl: I'm too soft hearted not to have a cat flap but it's why I keep him in at nightLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
