And now it's raining, not that it matters 'cos I'm inside anyway with no plans to go out
Dinner still undecided, but I have put a 25/75 wholemeal loaf in the Panny, so if can think of nothing else there's a nice warm fresh bread sarnie of some sort for dinner
PN, I love cucumber sarnies, but my cucs has to be fresh & crisp, not keen on the soggy ones left in sandwich for hoursEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Brambling, a good YS haul there. My W*rose seems a bit short on the YS F & V, maybe it's the time & day I go in
. The checkout woman did comment yesterday that they never knew when the decent reductions were going to be. I did bypass the New Zealand lamb because even half price it was soooo expensive for example £10+ which was the half price for two lamb fillets which i would have probably eaten in two meals
It's been raining here all day and is now thundering as well , those of us organised [STRIKE] and cheap :money: [/STRIKE] were unsympathetic to those who had to go out in it to buy lunch, as we said it was forecasted why didn't you bring it in
Lunch was the last of the chicken with salad definitely not suitable for the weather but still tasty, lots of raw veg added to the salad, gerkins etc
Dinner will be the last of the lamb biryani with some LO green veg from yesterday's dinner, the third portion is in the freezer. This is the reason i have no room in my freezer, the space taken up by the uncooked lamb has been replace with one portion of lamb biryaniHM RM so handy to have but I could do with another freezer for them

I've not tried wrapping them, putting them in the fridge, then taking them out hours later, or out for the day yet. I'll have to see how it goes
Glad to, at last at least, have finally found a way I do like eating them. In the past I've bought one when it's really hot and thought "salad", which mum always did as: cucumber, lettuce, tomato .... then a bit of grated cheese, boiled eggs - and after that just the odd other item like spring onions, radishes, or whatever she'd got. So, when it got hot I'd buy a cucumber, make a salad .... then have a lot of salad stuff to get through, even though it'd turned cold (as it does in England). So I kind of had given up on them0 -
It sounds strange, but a soggy cheese and cucumber sandwich was one of my favourites growing up! Haven't had one for years, but now, of course I do!Because it's fun to have money!

Good evening everyone,
I'm not a soggy cucumber fan but I am partial to a soggy tomato sarnie especially if the tomatoes are really ripe to begin with:D.
Back again at my Dad's and I'm delighted that the vast majority of his huge array of art supplies have now been rehomed:). After a snooze when I came home I ventured into the greenhouse and it has been mostly tamed;). Discovered I have a few baby toms & cucumbers so fingers crossed.:)
No breakfast as I knew I'd be having an early lunch, which was last of the chicken crown and a small avocado in a mixed salad with a crusty roll followed by a peach. Late afternoon I used up the 2 remaining rosemary crackers with the last smidge of gorgeous goats cheese:( and handful of largeish cherry toms as my tummy was rumbling. For dinner I've defrosted a pork shoulder steak which I'm griddling with a load of veg and nuke steaming a few Jersey Royals to go with it. I feel after yesterday's rather F&V lacking day that today is more or less back on track:). (That said last night's pasty hit the spot Wednesday (though it wasn't veggie) but soft potato in crisp pastry is such a lovely combination)

A taste of my childhood usually with added sand :rotfl: however well packed my mum made the lunch some child would walk past dragging a spade as soon as she opened them
These days I prefer any cucumber or tomato in sandwiches to be added and eaten straight away, if I'm going out I'll take them separate and eat with the sandwich with a good sprinkle of salt. I really don't like them soggy _pale_

Snap and warm squash in a tupperware cup - oh the memories:)
Once a year we would go via two buses to Weymouth for the day I'm sure it couldn't have always rained :rotfl: I remember the smell of wet donkey, sandwiches eaten in a bus shelter and the man who made the sand sculptures. By the time it stopped raining the tide would have gone out and it's a very wide beach so along way to the sea

No donkeys just lots of slimey, stinky seaweed & jellyfish between us & the water are what I remember, thankfully we were well kitted out with Woolies plastic sandals  though the sand & plastic combination always rubbed your feet to bits :rotfl:0

Weymouth was the only place with donkeys and a Punch and Judy showthe more local beaches were donkey free
. We were lucky even through we had no money for holidays we only lived a bus journey away from beautiful sandy beaches which is probably why I love walking by the sea
