Farway: I was just in Lidl, so I checked the whips for you. In mine they're definitely alongside the flour/eggs, but with the sultanas, creamed rice and the mini marshmallows.0

As it's Easter weekend, I thought I'd pop out to 4ldi to see if there were any last minute red stickers. Plus, I did want to "stock up" to make sure I had a huge variety of food to dip into/nibble, as the mood takes me, over the coming days
After that I took an unexpected trip to L1dl too - because I thought "you've no chips, it's Easter, go get chips now else you'll regret it".
I also bought some products I'd normally not bother with, or that I only buy once every 4-5 years.
Spent a FORTUNE! Across the two shops I spent £14.58. The haul was:
4ldi/YS: two packs of beef kebabs, I'll pop those in the freezer. I bought them as "flavoured mince", having cross-checked the £/Kg price against plain mince.
4ldi: jar of instant coffee, tin of mushy peas, tin of fruit salad, pack of six salad tomatoes, pack of dried egg noodles, four oven bottom muffins, TWO bars of chocolate, pack of chocolate oat biscuits, a pouch of microwave rice, a big bottle of tomato ketchup (lower salt/sugar), a big bottle of lower fat salad cream, a vacuum pack of 2 plain naan breads, soft cheese with garlic/herbs flavouring, pack of crumpets.
L1dl/YS: A Rustlers cheeseburger, it was 30% off, so 83p and I figured I'd grab it as it'd cost nearly that for a burger, a bread roll, a bit of cheese, some sauce. It's a nuker.
L1dl: Big bag of chips, fruit pastilles, bar of turkish delight, six sausage rolls
Already eaten the cheeseburger0 -
Oh those sound like the fritters the local West Indian takeaways did when I lived in London (lived in Clapham worked in Peckham) , they were huge and so tasty:D
Oh how funny. I used to work near Peckham in New Cross.:p I met my husband in a club in New Cross.:p
My Dad used to play rugby on Clapham Common.:D It's probably a very gentrified area these days!0 -
I've filled three of the oven bottom muffins with fillings, wrapped them in foil and popped them in the fridge.
1/ Tomato, salad cream.
2/ Egg, salad cream.
3/ Tomato, cheese, marg.
The fourth one's just sliced in half and wrapped in the package. I didn't want to fill the 4th one in case I suddenly had an urge for a filling I'd not thought of at the time of making up the other three, if that makes sense
I wish I had some Walkers cheese/onion crisps.... you can't get those at A or L, they're £1 for four at £land (which isn't a good deal).... supermarkets sell bigger packs which are cheaper per bag... taking a quick look at MySupermarket, Tesco are selling 10-packs for £1.47 at the moment! Nearest to me is Sainsburys, doing a 6-pack for £1.25.0 -
I'm back on Weightwatchers again.
I've had a banana and a big avocado salad. I will have the last of my soup when I feel hungry.
I'm just having some green tea now.2025 GOALS

It's typical conservatory weather.
Freezing inside, in a room that's not sunny.
Bit nippy/breezy outside so you can't sit out in the sun.
My number 2 reason for moving from here...
I want a house with a sunny living room + a conservatory would be nice.
EDIT: Gave up. Having sat here, with freezing fingers, wearing a THICK cardigan... etc etc ..... I've now turned the heating on0 -
Bit nippy today, but into L's, mainly for eggsPasturesNew wrote: »Farway: I was just in Lidl, so I checked the whips for you. In mine they're definitely alongside the flour/eggs, but with the sultanas, creamed rice and the mini marshmallows.
Yay, found them PN mine are nowhere near flour, mine are on shelf over the frozen fish, with the raisins. The butterscotch seem popular, only 2 packs left, so i took them, plus one each of choc & strawberry
Of course I then had to buy more milk should the whip craving arrive:o
Lunch, corned beef & mustard sarnie, not as nice as it sounds, into OK but would've been better with onion or tomato
Last night's toad in hole was same, OK but not as I imagined it would be. Plenty left to console myself with:(
The banana fritters I know are the whole banana in batter type, swimming in syrup, I never knew there was another style. But not had one in over 40 years I guess
At last I've got round to making herby bread, with all my own fresh herbs, thyme, parsley & chives, in a 25/75 mix wholemeal / white, in the Panny now, not ready until gone 6
Which leaves "what's for dinner" problem, I've enough stale bread for cheese on toast so seems likely option
There's always a Whip waiting:DEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

Yes, that Classic Combo: frozen fish with raisins and whip. Lidl helping people by putting "the obvious" ingredients together, so they can find them fast.
While I used to prefer the butterscotch, growing up, with the "branded varieties".... I do find the L1dl chocolate one to be "super rich and tasty"... and, probably, just a bit tastier than their butterscotch.0 -
