I've just googled it. Blimey.... I got that wrong then.
What may have confused you PN is the schools are on holiday already this year, plus of course the shops are full off eggs etc
My herby bread is looking good, just had a peek:j

I'm making tortilla pizzas as I have half a tin of pineapple leftover. The banana fritters I know are the whole banana in batter type, swimming in syrup, I never knew there was another style. But not had one in over 40 years I guess
I didn't know there was a syrup type at all.:D I thought it was just like a battered sausage but a battered whole banana.
You learn something new every day.:rotfl:0 -

Quite a few years ago some local authorities ours included decided that Easter Holidays would always be the first two weeks in April regardless of when Easter actual fell the idea was to make the terms the same size  My nephews would love it if Easter didn't come within those two weeks as not only did they get two weeks holiday but an extra two days for Good Friday and Easter Monday. Having said that they haven't done that this year as our schools broke up on Friday 5thLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Like you with Easter hols, seems there was some edukashun department sort out to harmonise holidays so that all schools in area now have same hols, with no older sibling on hol while youngest is still at school, thus "forcing" parents to take kids on "unauthorised" holiday to Majorca innit?:DEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
I used to go ten pin bowling in New Cross Wednesday:)
I did wonder PN - glad it's not just me that mixes up when holidays are:cool::). It changed a few years ago that the spring break for schools is always the first two weeks in April, the kids go back on Monday for four days and then off for a couple days over Easter, then they are off again on 6th May for another day then for four at the end of May for half-term so between now and the beginning of June there is only one five day school week!
Med review went fine so not back until August:), "wonky donkey" is playing up though and I managed to knock a large chip out of the doorframe as I was leaving the surgery as I misjudged where I was and clattered it hard with my wheels.:o:o They were very understanding thankfully:).
It's been sunny but blinking cold here today, definitely conservatory weather;) and we've frost forecast again for tonight. Lunch was a corned beef and tomato toastie with gherkins and tonight I'm having a smoked haddock fishcake with corn cob, green beans and oven chips.0 -

It could have been worst Caronc, you could have knocked the chip out of your own door frame
Not quite the usual Friday feeling today as I'm working tomorrow but only from home, I have to log on at 7am to update a message on the system and them it will be working on and off until 6.30pm if all finishes on time and systems come backup, occasionally we do finish on time
As I'm over 50 I can say I went to the pictures tonight, my nephew tells us that only old people call it that :rotfl: we saw Wild Rose I'm still trying to work out if I enjoyed it, I spent most of the film wanting to slap the main character  we used the opportunity to buy a Friends of the venue discount card and managed to get our money back when we brought tickets for a couple of plays which had 2 for 1 on opening night tickets if we were friendsI had theatre vouchers so I booked several things for over the next few months so very :money: And £1.10 off cinema tickets as well
Lunch was a egg and crab stick salad and dinner was quick and easy steak, chips and watercress salad. The steak was only frying steak but still very tender and from an out of the freezer rummageLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Lunch was a egg and crab stick salad
Proper food. I've always liked crab sticksSo few people seem to eat them. I eat them just by peeling the cover back and scoffing 3-4 sticks at a time... or, as you say, in an egg/crab/salad cream (and sometimes also ketchup) mix as a dollop of "salad" or, best, inside a big floppy bread roll
In the summer they're quite often my fridge: "Open the door, reach in, grab a bit, walk off eating it" item
I did stop/look in 4ldi yesterday, they're 79p/pack, nearly bought a pack but I already had "enough" food in my basket.
EDIT: Years ago, I discovered the best crab sandwich filling everywhere, it was sold in a shop on my route to work and I'd stop every morning to get one. They served it in a huge/wide flat soft bread roll and spooned it on. It was thick, with proper crab chunks, I even remember the manufacturer's name, but, even though I've googled over the years and did find them, they had no price list on their website... I've not looked for 10 years... I'm off to see if they still exist/make itThat was "the real proper job/best one ever" and crabsticks, for me, are simply a quick/cheap/easy substitute....
EDIT 2: Bummer, found them. Established in 1991, they deliver to the food service industry. Taken over by another firm in 2013. The original firm's website is dead.... so now I'd have to find the other company, but I bet their product isn't the same stuff. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Cromwell-Foods-1388195594738556/about/0
