Happy belated birthday Farway :bdaycake: although I'm not sure if we should be giving you more cake :rotfl:

I had a day off work today :j unfortunately the weather was very wet :(. I spent it with my sister, after her repair man had left we went out for a late lunch just a country tearoom who do the best cheese on toast :D and cake :p it's near a section of the Downs Link so we were checking it out before we walk that bit :D. After lunch we vegged out and watched the Greatest Showman and drank tea, we know how to live :rotfl::rotfl:

Dinner was the LO small portion of pasta from my chicken pasta bake just enough to fill a small hole. Should I get peckish later I've plenty of fruit

Glad your appointment went well Caronc :). My sister and I were talking today that although we are both only in our 50's maybe we should be a little more organised with paperwork just in case the proverbial bus should happen especially as I'm single with no children and she's now separated. Not that I want to sound morbid maybe it's because my birthday is next month  and I've been helping an elderly friend with her Lasting Power of attorney. We've decided to collate our paperwork and let the other know where we've put it

Thanks Brambling - yes it's brought my affairs into focus! My kids & sis know where the important stuff is and it is in good order:), it's all the other bits that need a good tidying LOL. I've had a good cull of work-related paperwork and historic insurance policies etc. Yonks ago 'cos we were single parents my sis & I did the legal stuff to give us both authority if needed, set up to protect the (now adult) "weans" but stands should either of us need it. The advice I got today which I think is very valid that everyone's essential paperwork for when they die should fit into one A4 expanding file, mine is but it's bulging a bit :rotfl:, anything else is superfluous:cool:

A4 folder :o mine's in a drawer or maybe two :eek: my savings pots are in multiple locations and I have a couple of pensions and death in service paperwork etc. If the worst should happen I would hate to make it worst for my sister or nephews. When my sisters' FIL died they turned his house upside down three times looking for his will which had dropped down the back of something

Porridge breakfast, sun's trying to peek out after yesterday's rain, hope it does come out, my pear is in blossom & I need some bees to get busy moving pollen from neighbour's to mine

Made a loaf in the Panny, in time for lunch, which will be yummy YS posh bacon on yummy warm fresh HM bread

PN, where about were the looky likes whips in L's? What section? If your L is like mine there does not seem much of a system or sense at times, bread flour is no where near flour, eggs are near tissues / loo rolls

I've taken a salmon fillet out to defrost, dinner is planned to be that plus salad and most likely chips in Actifry

Mind is overloaded at the moment, I've decided to buy a new TV, I don't "need" one but now want to spend points accrued from years of scanning my shopping, and points do not give cash, just vouchers:( And not useful ones I could use for food, petrol or suchlike
    I don't want points just being there, it's a tidy sum:j

So vouchers to buy a TV, way back it was easy, only consideration was size of screen, now there are a million variables & jargon to wade through, including "will it fit?"
I don't want a huge thing stuck on the wall & dominating the room

Looking back I should've checked before I bought number two freezer:o Still a nice problem to have

Most of my banking etc. is paperless these days and like you I have pots in various locations. I've typed up a list of my accounts and popped it my file:).

    Good morning everyone,

Nice dilemma to have Farway:), I bought a Samsung SMART TV a few years ago and really like it. Although 40 inches wide it doesn't dominate the room, it's on a stand as I'm not keen on them hung on the wall. It was under £300 so not too expensive as these things go.
My dentist trip went ok, much less traumatic than the last time thankfully.:) The prescription toothpaste has really made a difference to the super sensitivity so I've just to keep using that. Back in 3 months for another scale/clean which hopefully will keep on top of things.

Came back to more paperwork in the post re my Dad's stuff needing action, so much for getting the "to do" list down a bit!
Lunch is going to be a repat of yesterday's soup plus toast & salmon philly cheese. Stuffed pasta tonight I think with a sauce made from the tomato/butter bean soup I have in the freezer.

I had a Quorn wrap before I went out and then on impulse bought a few things from Co-op on the way home.

I tried the vegan falafel sandwich which wasn't nice, half was binned. I ate a couple of bites of a jam doughnut before giving the rest to my dog. I'm now eating carrots and houmous and even that tastes not that nice.

I think my tastebuds must be on the blink today!

    Probably a very sensible idea.

The HM loaf turned out fine, as sis the subsequent bacon sarnie for lunch

Dinner on track as salmon fillet salad + chips

My pear is in blossom, as is the cherry tree. Here's hoping a fruitful summer will follow

I had some olives and the last of the roasted chickpeas as a snack this afternoon.

I'm doing a soup to use up all the veg in the fridge. Marigold bouillon stock, tomato puree, carrots, potato, spring onions and even the lettuce. :D I will whizz up the last of the fresh coriander at the end. I will have it with granary bread.:)

I'm trying to remember. They were ..... just above my shoulder height... I think it was where the baking stuff is .... the flour and eggs. But I can't swear to it.

That's not an obvious place to look for it is it.... but I think it might've been there.... flour, sugar, eggs and whips :) maybe.

    Good evening everyone,
HM bread & posh bacon sarnie - I'm drooling at the thought:D
My paperwork is no longer on the sofa and neatly filled & back in the cupboard:D:D. There's lots of space in the expanding folder which I'll endeavour not to fill with clutter. ;)

Apart from paper sorting I've had a very quiet afternoon as frustratingly "wonky donkey" gave a sharp kick. Just a protest at being tilted earlier I think and a lie down for a few hours seems to have settled it.:)
A slight change to my planned meal for tonight, the stuffed pasta is being left in the freezer and I'm having spaghetti and meatballs. I've not had this in ages so looking forward to it.
It's been a nice sunny day but there's no heat in it so temperature is dropping like a stone again tonight. I do wish it would warm up a bit as I want to get some planting done! Still no rain so can't complain:).
