    ... parsley ...
    I'm anti-parsley in the main :)

I like Parsley & Thyme stuffing, but that's it.

I can still remember ~1980 when I used to have the use of a good Works' Canteen. It was about then that parsley "appeared everywhere". The servery area was 2-3 long mobile trolleys of food - and the chef took a liking to parsley. Having loaded the big tin trays of food into the trolleys he'd top EVERYTHING with a sprinkling of parsley ... the pies, the stews, the boiled potatoes and even the baked beans!

Horrid, nasty, stuff you have to pick off the top :)

    Good morning everyone,

Parsley freezes really well Farway, I'm still working my way through the huge mound I chopped last year when my friend had masses and gave me loads. I froze the stalks too as they are great in HM stock. It's one of my favourite herbs though like PN I'm less keen on it being sprinkled randomly over dishes.
My sister is picking me up late afternoon and I've a fair bit to do before then as I suspect I may be a little "delicate" tomorrow and want to come back to a tidy house. I'll get the dips and pitta chips made and then see how it goes from there. I'm not sure what we are having tonight apart from the fact it has a Middle Eastern theme:).

I had a potato waffle sandwich with HP sauce when I got in from the doctor. Not very healthy but what can you do.

I forgot to have my soup yesterday and I will have it in a couple of hours.

Back from Romsey, nice walk around Hillier's with lots of blossom

Lunch was in their cafe, roll with South Downs ham & tom + bit of salad & some crisps on the side + cuppa. Plenty for me and still feeling ful

Dinner will be the YS MFO veg chilli

Thanks for the tips but I won't freeze the parsley, like PN, not a big fan so unlikely to use it from frozen. If the parsley bread works I may sow some more, but only because I've seeds & it's easy

I suppose I "could" make parsley & thyme stuffing, I've got thyme in the garden, but for the amount of stuffing I eat I CBA, a pack of poxo is strictly for Christmas in this house

Up early again, was still dark but now sun's out, so much so I may even pot on the tomatoes I postponed from last weekend

    Porridge breakfast

Made a loaf, all this parsley idea went out the window, it was too dark to even see the parsley let alone cut it:o, so basic white was made
Browsing I spotted herby loaf recipe, and I'm growing all the fresh herbs anyway, maybe try again another day but in daylight

Brewed up some more yogurt, very domestic day and it's not even 10am yet

Slice of cold pizza & cuppa mid morning [my mid morning that was]

Rest of today's food is unsure, had plan for salmon fillet / salad but I've got LO YS mushrooms that are either eat or compost, plus eggs that are close hatching I've had them so long that some sort of omelette is beckoning

I think it's toast with old crust or maybe fresh bread sarnie for lunch, depends if new bread is OK for slicing by then

I had a tortilla wrap with Quorn pieces, finely sliced cucumber and spring onions and a bit of mayo and mustard. It was so full up I could hardly fold it, I put half a cucumber in there.:rotfl:

I have a sachet of fresh basil so I'm either going to make tomato and basil soup or a pasta sauce. I will see how hungry I am later.

Actually, I could do both thinking about it and have one of them today and one for lunch tomorrow.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Lovely to see you posting again CG :)but commiserations re the bust oven.
I had a lovely time yesterday and ate (and drank) far too much, my friend had made a real feast for us and I enjoyed every mouthful though couldn't manage even a sliver of very lush looking HM chocolate cake for pud. I have a piece home with me to enjoy later:D. I'm feeling surprisingly ok today though tired as we were late going to bed. No breakfast as we had to leave in a flurry to get one of the girls to her work on time so looking forward to bacon, egg & tomato for lunch.:)
I've chicken wings defrosting for dinner tonight, just need to decide what I fancy with them.

I'm sitting here having not eaten a thing today .... I have a piece of paper and a pen and trying hard to think "what to eat", so I can go out shopping for food. It's soooo hard choosing as there are so many many options.

I have food here at home, of course.... so, if I don't go out I'll have jacket spud/beans/cheese...

So ... CFO today = no bl00dy idea again :)

EDIT: Shuffled off to the shops, without any clue ... home now, still clueless. But, I did manage to pick up: A bag of mixed chocolates, 1 pint of milk, pack of 4 oven bottom muffins (YS), a chocolate bar, a pack of chocolate biscuits, pack of 6 sausage rolls, a pizza, a reduced price sandwich (70p).

And, as I typed the above.... I've just remembered what I was going to do with that milk (make angel delights) .... but .... I looked for them in 4ldi and they don't seem to sell it... then I went to L1dl and completely forgot to look as it was so busy/crowded :)

So, I'd have been having angel delights later if I'd remembered. I'm intending on cooking the pizza in a bit. It's L1dl, the box says "new", but I've noticed they seem to do this on "old" products every now and again, so not sucked in by that. American Hot, £1.69. It'd better be good, that's spending "over the odds" really for "just a cheap pizza".

EDIT 2: Verdict on the pizza... don't bother. Most unsatisfying. Base was crispy (I prefer moist/soft) and toppings weren't noticeably/excitingly flavoursome.

Lunch finished up as corned beef & tom sarnie using my fresh HM loaf

Then DD + GD arrived to take Granddad out for tea & cake, so now I'm stuffed and have mushrooms + eggs needing to use up, back in fridge for them I think

We were at a garden centre, posh one, with attached farm shop, now I own a YS pack of posh free range streaky, but plenty of date left in it

I feel bacon sarnies coming on during the week ahead
