A much calmer day here today and quite pleasant walking about in the sunshine.

I have a couple of mini wraps that need using, so will do a cheese and jalapeno quesadilla for lunch.

I picked up a piece of liver whilst out this morning so I’ll give Suseesu2000's recipe a go for dinner tonight

    Good afternoon everyone,

Although grey, showery and on the chilly side the weather is much better today than yesterday!

Spent the morning catching up on chores and personal admin. Voluntary admin beckons this afternoon.

Second portion of the HM chicken soup I defrosted yesterday for lunch. Tonight it's JO's sweet and sour pork from his 7 ways book. I've not made it for ages so really looking forward to it.

Drizzling this morning when I needed to be out and about 🙄 but still strangely mild. Lunch on the hoof as a slightly complicated day. Salmon fillet with pasta, pesto and broccoli tonight.

I noticed damp patches on my dining room wall just where the down pipe comes down from the flat roof on the out side, my newly plastered and painted wall 🥲 I had problems about 7 years ago and a work had been done on the down pipe to avoid water pouring onto the flat roof. I braved the ladder (don't tell my nephews!) and could see this connection had come apart. Not sure if the recent heavy rains and storms or like it all summer and now that it's raining it's showing. Dehumidifier is on and i have been recommended a guttering company, he knew as soon as I said flat roof and down pipe what the previous fix had been, so hopefully he knows what to do said should be quick fix and he would do some investigating. Flat roof was replaced approximately 10 years ago but I don't think it's that 🤞 I said some very bad words!!!

First birthday party for my sister grandson, he had no idea what was going on, but had great fun with balloons and dismantling decorations. He also made a bee line crawling at speed to the person who had the first piece of cake, pulled himself up and opened his mouth like a little bird 😁 a lot of beige food and noise from his sisters friends four four year old girls can scream!

I had as a small salmon quiche in the freezer which was a late dinner with some salad bits

Dull but dry, supposed to brighten later, which sounds like good news for the Brambling roof

Hope it's easily fixed, I think a lot of problems have arisen with the long dry spell we had & things just shrinking / shrivelling

Lunch, fried egg sarnie, eggs need using

Dinner, Freezer clearance continues, may be veggie lasagne

    Good morning everyone,

Grrr re the roof Brambling, hopefully an easy fix and the wet will dry out without staining. The (non) joy of flat roofs, my bay window has one and it causes more grief than the rest of the roof and gutters put together!

We are keeping DS1's pooch for another few days as they have all picked up grotty colds not helped by DGD teething as well. While he'll be delighted to see them he's used to being here so doesn't pine and he enjoys the access to the garden.

Fridge gravel for lunch. I've defrosted two decent sized Italian style sausages which I'll skin and use as a base for sauce for ac pasta dinner tonight.

Another pleasant sunny day here and not as cold as it has been.

Thanks again for the recipe idea Suseesu2000, I really enjoyed it and will definitely make again, although I did add a splash of lee & perrins before the cream just to up the savoury flavour.

Lunch today was more soup from the freezer with a slice of toast.

I found a tiny amount of moussaka mince in the freezer and think it should be enough along with some feta, cherry toms and panko crumbs to stuff a courgette for dinner tonight, with a pickled red cabbage on the side.

The guttering company can't come until the 10th so I'm hoping it doesn't rain too much especially as when I travel to the funeral I'm away two nights so don't want my nephew to deal with the dehumidifier as well as the cat.

Extra volunteering day at the bookshop as it's half term, so many kids with no inside voices. They are letting dogs in now but not in the cafe so people come to us to eat, I got to cuddle a very large Newfoundland who was so chilled 🥰

On the way home I went into to chose the fabric for my new sofa and arm chair and paid the deposit, it may be delivered before Christmas just no promises. Following MSE advice deposit was added on to CC for added protection.

Cream cheese and smoke salmon sandwich for lunch.

LO sticky pork and rice for dinner

    Good morning everyone,

I do find the very big dogs tend to be very chilled, I suppose they have nothing to prove lol!!

Grey but dry and not too chilly here today. Housework beckons and Tesco are due later but that's about it plan-wise.

The two plump Italian sausages made a decent amount of ragu so a tub of sauce will be frozen for a future meal. LO pasta for lunch. Usual Friday tbc for dinner probably fish based.
