Mucked up my timings, I'm out by an hour, thought it was 4 pm when it was only 3:o
Dinner LO cold roast pork, stuffing HM skin on chips + salad eaten, chucked some away, no wonder I was not that hungry with my mistake:(
If I'm hungry later I've got some apples + cheese, and [whisper] bar of cheap choc
Never heard of making kebab meat from mince, but I've never eaten a doner kebab so no surprise there
Just looked it up, apart from spices how does it differ from cold meatloaf?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

Farway you do know the clocks don't go forward until tonight :rotfl:
Welcome Trailing  you'll find we eat anything here and as Farway said CFO you eat what you want when you want with no one to answer to
I walked into town today to make the most of the sunshine and enjoyed walking round the farmers market before my haircut and colour thank goodness it was payday on the 28th. I met my sister afterwards for lunch nothing fancy just an all day breakfast and a gossip.
I wasn't really that hungry so I've had a couple of slices of toast and marmalade for dinner, breakfast is obviously a theme today
Hi Candy just wanted to say I saw your sad news re Zeus and wanted to send you a hug and say how sorry I was I know he only had a short life but you made sure it was the best :grouphug:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I decided to take the bull by the horns and set three clocks forward by one hour this afternoon as I knew I was going out and that way my alarm clock would show the correct time tomorrow when I woke up as would the living room and kitchen clock.
Youngest stayed overnight so made us both a sausage toasted sandwich for breakfast and then went out to see older dd in York and had an afternoon tea with free prosecco at M and S which was around £15 for two so a good deal.
Youngest is staying with me tomorrow night but no idea if she needs a meal or not so will defrost a couple of chicken breasts that can be marinated and cooked with actifry wedges fairly quickly. DDs have informed me there is a delivery for me tomorrow so I am assuming flowers."This site is addictive!"

Thankfully the radio controlled clocks have sorted themselves out, as has PC and my mobile, and the good news is the clock in my car is now the right time until winter. CBA to fiddle with that one
Bright day, cold wind, not going anywhere anyway
After yesterday's dinner timing error I had some cheese & apple later that evening, and a slice of toast + jam;)
Breakfast porridge again, this latest batch, from L's, seems to make thicker & creamier portions, nothing else has changed so must be the oats origin, doesn't give country of origin on the pack so I assume they buy from wherever it's available for the price
Not that I mind, I like this batch
Basic rapid white loaf on the go in the Panny, may be too fresh for use at lunchtime, too fresh to spread anything on at least, but I've no idea what's for lunch
Same no idea for dinner, still plenty of cold pork left so that'll be in there somewhereEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Just looked it up, apart from spices how does it differ from cold meatloaf?
No different.... it's just which spices and how it's cut/sliced/shaved.... and, usually served in a pitta with salad in a paper wrapper -v- meatloaf which is usually with vegetables/gravy and on a plate.
So, the only difference is: how it tastes....the good news is the clock in my car is now the right time until winter. CBA to fiddle with that one
I, too, never bother to change the car clock, so I'll now keep finding it's an hour slow.... I can never remember which way round it is, so turn the radio on, then when the radio tells the time I check the clock and remember for that journey0 -
Good morning all!
I had a naughty chippy tea last night... I limit myself to absolutely no more than one a month, and as my last was mid-Feb, I've done well. I've got a spare fishcake in the fridge, so that'll be a snack later tonight probably.
I hope that those of you who are mothers have received some well-wishes from your offspring. I sent mine a card, and phoned her up earlier. My sister is seeing her today, and I'll be seeing her next week.
A fairly productive Sunday morning for me so far... Woken up bright and early with a friend having a panic about her job situation. Basically, she didn't get a job she wanted. I did my best to reassure her, but she's frustrating in that she'll ask for advice, and then NEVER take it. Or even do the exact opposite! It can be rather wearing unfortunately.
Anyway, I then went to Tesco for the food shop, only to notice that the petrol station is closing for refurbishment for the better part of two months! This is bl00dy inconvenient, as the next nearest is an expensive BP garage (in the wrong direction for me as well), the one after that is a Shell (also more expensive), and if I want cheaper supermarket fuel, I have to go to the other side of town, which defeats the point! Fortunately, I am over that side reasonably often, but I'll have to make a special point to have cash on me, AND remember to stop.
I currently have the washing machine going... I'm going to Italy on Friday, for 8 nights, so wanted my full wardrobe to pick from. I'll be in the Naples area, and from all accounts, the weather can be a bit variable at this time of year, so I need a full range, from t-shirts to jumpers.
Meal-wise, I've contented myself so far today with just coffee and 2 biscuits... I've got a "roast in the bag" chicken doing its thing in the oven, which, once I've rested it and prepped some sides, should be done about 1:15pm.
As I've only got to feed myself until Thursday night, I'm hopeful that the chicken will provide me with at least 3 good portions and perhaps some "scrappy bits" - as my dad would have called them - which I can snack on.Because it's fun to have money!

Bought 1 large and pkt of small pre-made quiche cases and also some cooked ham bits so may made a large and small ham & eggs, maybe cheesy style ones, cook all at same time then freeze some for Ron (lateron) and fancy boiled egg sarnies for lunch, again will boil several to keep in fridge for lunches.0

I've had a toasted sandwich, I should have put some HP sauce in there!:D
I think I'm going to have potato (jacket or mash?) with steamed veggies and gravy and whatever Quorn thing I have in the freezer for lunch today.trailingspouse wrote: »Thought I'd just drop by and say hi - I've been kind of cooking for one for the last year, as OH was working away during the week. He came home 'for good' (well, until the next contract) just before Christmas, and at the beginning of January we decided to split up. So now I'm cooking for one for real!
Sorry to read that.:(0 -
The chicken came out perfect, and I just did some broccoli and potato croquettes on the side. I had a breast and a slice, and have just finished picking the carcass clean, and there's lots left for the week, which are now bowled up, covered and in the fridge.
Next couple of jobs are to fold some dry washing, wash up the stuff from lunch, and then print some bits off for work tomorrow. Then I'll be able to properly chill out for the afternoon/evening. I've got a Robert Harris book about Pompeii that I'm keen to finish before I go away... It's my thing to read a story about a place I'm about to visit, to get a sense of the people and the place. It helps me feel more connected to the story of the place. Unfortunately, I'm 2/3 of the way through the book, and not feeling especially connected to the characters. But I'm hoping it'll pick up towards the end. It's been an easy read, at least.Because it's fun to have money!

The HM loaf was just right for lunchtime sarnie, still warm from the Panny
I made a cheese & onion sarnie with it for lunch
The way my CBA is going today dinner is looking like a cold roast pork & stuffing sarnie
Busy on new PC, sorting some photos out with Photoshop, at least the new PC is speedier than old one
I may have a break with a cuppa & sow some seeds in trays, flowers not vegEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
