Another YS desert in L's this morning, nothing YS at all, and the toms were manky to start with, just milk, FR eggs, rapeseed oil & bread flour, oh and some fruit & nut cheapo choc bars:o
Lunch, cheese & Marmite sarnie
Dinner, joining FlubberZ in no idea, freezer full off stuff, none of which I fancy or CBA to sort out. I've tins of soup so maybe?
whmf00001 Thanks for W10 tip, but I've not got or ever had a camera set up so that's one problem lessEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Update, dinner decided, CBA fried egg sarnie, at least it's my HM fresh loaf so semi virtuous
I've defrosted some YS sausage rolls just in caseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
The day started bad, definitely one of those where I could have done with someone else other than the cat to deal with things
Originally I thought my fridge freezer had died, so there was much panicking as I wondered who I could off load a freezer full of food to  then after taking a deep breath and calming down I realised that all my electric was off  I had showered and boiled the kettle so it had only just happened. The trip switch and tripped and didn't want to reset so I started turned individual 'breaker? switches' off and on  It turned out to be just one which seems to be only working just one socket in extension part of the dining room. After some minor investigating (I move a piece of furniture
) it seems my down pipe is blocked again which is causing damp on the wall with the socket on so has probably been leaking for a while. Are you still with me............
So I've left that switched off and I'm hoping that has isolated the socket and isn't connected to anything else too major, I've found someone who will look at the down pipe tonight and quote me to sort it and he said he is qualified to check I've isolated the socket correctly as I would really prefer not to burn down the house  i'm assuming the damp will need to dry before I can get an electrician out to fix it.
Apologies for saying it but I really wanted to hand it over to a man
Lunch was the duck and noodle broth and dinner will be something i haven't cooked as i going to my sister to eat, after a week on her own she is disliking CFO :rotfl:

:wall: :wall: now I'm home and not so flustered I've checked my electrics and it seems with the exception of my fridge freezer and boiler controller nothing else works in the kitchen, it seems it's not just the lone socket which worked of the switch I turned off
. My sister may regret saying she didn't like CFO
Must see if I can find the details of the electrician i last used. This couldn't have happened before I spent £400 on glassesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Brambling, bad news there, it could all be linked to the damp socket, but not knowing how the sockets are wired, could all be on same ring main with a spur off to extension, that would be "normal" but hard to tell without looking
At least replacing socket and fresh dry air should fix it, at least it's warm & sunny so should dry out readily
Down pipe, if it's like mine it's leaves. Mine overflowed and leaked into porch roof
PN, snap on sausage rolls, I had some of my defrosted ones last night, one left which I'm going to scoff with a cup of coffee some time soon
Up early, lighter mornings, at least until the weekend
Porridge breakfast and made fresh batch of yoghurt
Cold but sunny, may give grass it's first cut later
I've decided today is bangers, beans & mash day
Posh bangers out defrosting [bought on offer a bit back], I'll use frozen mash as well, and tinned beans. Sounds very idle of me
Also taken a large 1kg pork joint out of freezer, was part of my XCFO stash, posh organic pork. Cooking that's tomorrow's job
Lunch, hoping bangers defrost in time for a banger sarnie
PN, good idea about decanting frozen chips, I always seem to tip too many out as well. I'll see what's around in town, maybe go colour coded, same lid colour to save me tipping stew into Actifry:eek:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

My "local Chinese" portions their rice/noodles up in a "smaller than regular" plastic lidded tub. I've been there 3x and have saved those. They're a great size.... A regular takeaway portion tub is just way too big for many portions and things .....
I'll go and tip some chips in one in a bit, weigh them, try it for size. If I had, say, six of them, then I could simply spread them all out and tip the whole bag across the six, then adjust by eye so they all look the same, job done.
The chip bag just takes up a ridiculous amount of space for what it contains... because they're all higgledy piggledy in there it's quite a mass that's omnipresent. Little boxed portions would free up space IF I can get absolutely the right size box.... no point doing it with six large boxes that are too big as it'd still be wasted space. A rigid/rectangular box, with the chips all neat, should make things tidier.
For ID, when I bag/box things up, I tend to cut a bit off the original box and slide it in... could do that for chips, just cut the front part of the wrapper up and toss an identifiable piece into each box... it's just good to have the instant "eye ID" from labels.
EDIT: Just had a call, something I'd expected to happen later this afternoon's been cancelled, which is a nuisance because if it'd not been in my diary I'd have gone out yesterday evening perchance some YS mince for the SC today .... so I've just popped two sausage rolls on for an early lunch.0 -
I've had a banana and water so far today.
Saying about the weight loss I haven't lost any more weight this week yet, maybe I should lay off the chocolate desserts for breakfast.:rotfl::wall: :wall: now I'm home and not so flustered I've checked my electrics and it seems with the exception of my fridge freezer and boiler controller nothing else works in the kitchen, it seems it's not just the lone socket which worked of the switch I turned off. I sniggered at that one
Grass cutting, weather's clouded over so I'm having an indicative vote about it, options are:-
1/ Leave as long grass for kicking Brexit can into
2/ Call it wild flower meadow
3/ Mow it you lazy s0d
Bangers defrosted OK for lunch, the sarnie tasted better in my imagination than reality, it was OK but not that was all
PN, I don't have Chinese take aways so old tubs are non existent
I know you like tidy, but I can't see me putting the chips in neat rows. I'll go by eye and shake / pat them down, although I have digital scale if I CBA to weigh into portions, which I know I really should

working from home today (honest I'm working) :rotfl:
I found a handy man from checkatrader young chap who unblocked the downpipe and will come back Friday to fix something over it to stop it blocking again the way they did the flat roof it seems the water was running down the cavity wall  and the electrician I've used before fitted me in today, typically every thing worked when he tried but he has sorted the socket so it's not blowing the electrics and will come back when it's dry to replace it and he only charged £30 so I'm happywhen he comes back I've asked him to run a check on the electrics in the house as i'm convinced other than when they did my kitchen and shower not a lot has been done since the mid 1960s and for £130 it will give me peace of mind, I didn't think that was pricey for half day work. So current panic diverted, sometimes being able to phone a landlord would have its benefits, obviously paying rent especially here wouldn't be so good. just need to pick up dehumidifier later just to avoid mould
On a positive note his lordship who is afraid of strangers especially men didn't shoot out of the cat flap or hide on top of the wardrobe he just stayed sat on the sofa watching :T
Lunch was cheese and crackers with tomato and cucumber as i CBA to move the microwave into the lounge to ping soup, Dinner i'm still not sure as I wasn't sure if i would have electrics for the cooker i'll rummage later or it could be jacket spud or omelette and chips as I have to pop out it could be anything but as yesterday's fright over the freezer dying made me realise I need eat what I have in the house rather than going shopping
Thanks to Wednesday i'm thinking chocolate puddling :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
