Lunch eaten, turned into a one egg omelette sarnie in the end, only because the yolk broke as I cracked it into the cup:(

Spot of garden pruning done, the insects have discovered my plum blossom, so fingers crossed for summer, as long as said insects aren't laying eggs in the blossom ready for me to find maggots in the plums:eek:

With all this sun seems planning salmon salad for dinner was a good idea

    ...tidy the integral garage ...
Look at you with all your space :)

Integral garages, you don't get many of those these days do you. Only 3-4 storey "town houses" are built with them - and many, over the years, have (badly usually) converted them into another living room, that's actually bizarrely "too narrow" to be of much use.

I've had a few peculiar food days ....

Yesterday I fancied a Chinese, but went to 4ldi to see if I could "find something for tea" there instead, no joy .... so I thought I'd pop into L1dl ... they had a sausages/mash/peas filled giant yorkshire in the reduced section, down to 70p - so I thought "70p, I'll have that then". Two options to reheat: 30 minutes in the oven, or 5 in the nuker... so nuked it. 30 minutes in the oven's a bit much, it only takes about 22 minutes to cook a yorkie from raw liquid!

Earlier yesterday I had the last portion of my chilli, with spaghetti (just because it's the easiest thing to cook).

I bought my 2nd favourite choccies and have eaten them all - and some fruit pastilles, which I'm half way through.

Today, breakfast was a packet of crisps. Then I popped into a L1dl about 5 miles away to see if they had chips/hash browns (mine didn't yesterday) ... and I was lucky, I think I got the last pack of HBs in there - and they only had 4 bags of chips.

I've already had 2 HBs, scrambled eggs and beans :)

I use my pressure king pro but you could use the slow cooker.

I just cooked a shoulder of pork with onions, tomatoes and garlic and a beef brisket with roast potatoes, home made mash and lots of green veg for a Sunday lunch for two DDs and a fiance. There was enough for everyone to take a meal portion home and a portion is in my fridge for tomorrow.

Thinking of cooking a couple of sausages with and egg and tomatoes for tonight unless I have a few baby potatoes instead.

I got a phone message from my bank to say there was suspicious activity on my debit card so I checked it out and now have a new bank card on the way and might need to travel to York tomorrow to get some cash out to tide me over. DD and fiance offered to lend me some cash but I want to be independent and sort things myself if I can.

Just as well I have just had a grocery delivery a few days ago and well stocked cupboards and freezer. I might just manage without taking cash out of the bank but don't want to risk not being able to pay the window cleaner etc.

Kind of wish I hadn't as the weather is horrible here this evening. Vest will be remaining firmly in place for the time being and I've my fleece blanket to hand if I'm chilly overnight.

    Good evening everyone,

Definitely all four seasons in one day today with some really wintery, heavy showers. Another difficult day as my sis & I were back sorting out at my Dad's and then I was finalising the content of the service on Wednesday with the celebrant. I think we all just need the funeral to be over now as we had to wait longer than we thought we would have to for a slot at the crematorium we wanted.

I had a nice brunch about 11am of a couple of lurking bacon rashers that were needing used up, with some mushrooms, an egg and some toast. It has kept me going all day though I did succumb to a couple of scrummy Greek chocolates late afternoon. They are a bit like purple Quality Street but smaller and made with dark chocolate so very rich so 2 was more than enough to satisfy.
Braised steak, mushrooms & onions from the freezer for dinner and yes there were spuds in tub so just need to cook some sprouts and peas to go along with it.:)

The spuds are just showing eye sprouts, which set me thinking about planting a few of them in a big pot, but having looked up Maris Piper I see they are not ideal for amateurs, prone to everything that sucks, bites or blights and need lots of sprays etc to be decent crop.
It was only an idea, not a cunning plan
A few years ago I grew spuds from a bag of SM "Rooster" potatoes that had sprouted. They did really well in tubs and apart from a little slug damage towards the end of the season didn't seem prone to disease etc. Picked small they make a nice salad spud and left to get bigger are decent for baking, chips etc. If you see a bag YS could be worth a go.

<<hugs>> it's difficult to move on until the funeral, it seems to take so much longer these days

Elona I have a pressure king pro too which I use more than my slow cooker now, going to add the soup to my list to try, I'm always on the look out for a new soup to make :)

I woke up this morning feeling like someone had stuffed my head with cotton wool, combination of next doors car alarm waking me up at 1am and not drinking enough yesterday, so a plodding day today. I made a duck stock today but not the soup as I want to chill and skim off any fat, there shouldn't be too much as I took.as much skin off as possible, I plan to make a Chinese inspired soup with noodles etc tomorrow evening

Lunch was a duck wrap and dinner a small cheese and tomato pizza from the freezer with added veggies it was small enough to pop in the airfryer, followed by stewed rhubarb and strawberries.

Today's lesson don't leave a cat with a open bag of shredded paper even for two minutes  I should have learnt as it's happened before with my last cat

Another cold but bright sunny morning, tempted to sow some beetroot outside once sun moves round a bit

PN, hash browns, you've reminded me I've got some lurking in the freezer, I may use a couple tonight, help clear bit of space

    Breakfast porridge
Lunch, think it's grilled cheese on toast, with piccalilli

Dinner is a bit of freezer clearing, last of the jumbo fish fingers, and now, ta ra, with hash browns :j and not chips as previously planned
Plus now standard here, grilled wrinkled toms:(

The new PC W10 work up continues, getting there gradually and not as bad as I thought it would be, maybe I'm not doing it properly;)

    Good morning everyone,
Lol re the cat & the shredded paper - too tempting to resist:rotfl:.
After such a wild & wet day yesterday it's lovely and sunny today, I've got all the windows and doors open to give the house a good airing.
My sis isn't picking me up until 2pm so taking the chance to do some much needed domestics, groceries arrive this evening to stock up for the kids arriving tomorrow. I've ordered a ham hock which I'll cook overnight in the SC and use to make a big pan of lentil soup.
Bangers for dinner tonight with mash if I cba to make it.:)

I have just had a brunch of eggs, bacon and tomatoes and have some of Sunday lunch to eat tonight.

After the panic over my pressure king pro not working yesterday I found the plug at the back had come slightly loose so it now seems to be working, fingers crossed. I have a roasted veg pack to use up so thought of defrosting a couple of pork loin chops and adding them to the PKP tomorrow with some garlic and seasoning.

Just remembered I am visiting dd tomorrow so will go and get the chops out now and cook them tonight so I have them in the fridge.

My house started as a bungalow and the previous owners added some bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom and also extended sideways to make an integral garage. Right now the garage has bits of their old carpets that ruckle up and nearly trip me very time I go in and is in a mess which I am really keen on sorting out so it is a usable space especially in Summer.
