Yesterday I popped out to 4ldi and managed to find two red stickered packs of mince/5% fat. There were 3-4 packs, but I only bought two. Both 250g, so £1 each instead of £1.99.
I could've decanted those into freezer bags and frozen.... but, instead, I decided to make a chilli - which will use up some of the carrots I bought and some of the onions - and use up some of the frozen green peppers.
So into the SC with it all this morning. 500g mince, 3 small onions, 3 grated carrots, tin of beans, 1 chilli, 1 green pepper, some chilli powder.
So that's gone a long way towards "using up things I need to get through" - and will produce nice food at some point later in the day.
Yesterday I ate one of the breadcrumb/fish pieces from the freezer, served with chips and beans. I didn't cook that fish "properly". It'd been a pack of four, the first two I cooked in the mini oven.... yesterday I CBA so just nuked it.
While in 4ldi I also managed to buy a pack of chocolate biscuits. So the basket just had two packs of mince and a pack of chocolate biscuits.... and two packs of loo rolls (not because I needed them, but you can never have too many).
Then it was into £land for a bag of my 2nd favourite chocs.0 -
I woke up really hungry again. I had a smoothie and then avocado on wholemeal toast.:)0

I'm off work today.
I've got an hour of tutoring this evening, but that's it. I'm going to have my cooked meal at lunch today, which'll save time later. I'm just starting to get hungry, so I'll get started on it soonish. I'm just doing frozen chicken goujons, mash and a veg. Probably butterbeans, as I've had a tin of them floating around for a while.
I'll do a sandwich and something when I'm home from tutoring later on.
Not achieved anything with my day so far... Just been puttering around online. So I think I'll go and get the oven heating up, and open yesterday's post!Because it's fun to have money!

Lunch was a bacon sarnie, decided my HB loaf sarnie deserved something a bit special inside, so defrosted a YS XCFO pack of back bacon
Nuker back up & running, in the event I trimmed the cable back beyond ratty gnasher area & fitted [STRIKE]an old plug I'd horded[/STRIKE] a recycled plug
The new computer arrived, and works, but it's W10 and speaks at me. No doubt I'll get used to it, in meantime still here on the old W7 desktop
Just shows, delivery was due tomorrow, good job I was back from shops in them or that would be a "sorry I missed you" card:(
Steak marinading, I'll get it out of fridge soon to ambient before I fry it, I've decided it's more chips, and CBA fried eggs
Maybe lump of bread pud laterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Oh thank you Brambling, will remember in future. I had in SC all afternoon & eve and the took it out this morning, joint to go into oven just to crisp up, juice and veggies to make soup. Got more of the sausage meat balls tonight and the rest will do as a sort of stugging type side tomorrow, both with salad so very few carbs. I live in similar house but I do have what was once a pantry in kitchen under stairs so can fit upright freezer in there, such a loy of space wasted in front of it though. I had the downstairs bathroom/toilet extended a few years back and the area where the actual toilet had been was an area just off main oblong so had elec points with CH/Hot wateer boiler and double doors on the area so I have washing machine and small freezer in there (with middle SC and BM on top as well as the washing powder etc and can close doors on them, I call it my untility room !!!! Other fridge freezer is in the kitchen but although I had that remodeled when the extn was done, I have very few worktops and plenty of cupboards. Loads of food !!!!! Sorry if spelling mistakes, just had retinal eye screening and still blurry.0

Hope the eyes are recovered WHMF I'm assuming it was the horrid stinging drops they put in your eyes? the first time an optician did that she added the drops and then said hope you don't have your car as you can't drive for 4 hours.
Farway my new work laptop is W10 I hated it at first but at least I can use it nowmainly thanks to the young guy in the office who answered a lot of how do I ......... questions sounds like ratty had the last laugh with an almost fried Farway :rotfl:
A bit of a CBA day food wise lunch was a cheese, coleslaw and raw spinach wrap with a packet of crisps and dinner was a fish finger wrap, the pack is opened so needs to be used and a small fish finger box space cleared in the freezer which was promptly filled by some YS sandwich thins  and some YS rhubarb and strawberries stewed for tomorrow as I preferred it chilled, I must look to replace the rhubarb crown, I left the ones I got from my mum at the allotment when we gave it up and have regretted it every year since as I love rhubarb.
I dropped a small glass ramekin when getting dinner, only a free one with some dessert but as usual glass everywhere requiring floor washed and cat food replaced  for a small pot there was a lot of glass. Unfortunately a piece of glass ended up in my slippers which were in the kitchen but not on at the timeluckily only a small cut when I put them on, but better me than a vet bill for his lordship.

Good evening everyone,
Ouch Brambling - small glass cuts always seem to be disproportionately painful!
A bit of a long & difficult day today as the wonky donkey was kicking and I had stuff that had to get done today. Thankfully it's back in the stable but food hasn't featured much, cheese salad sarnie for lunch and I'm just off to have LO beans on toast for a late dinner as we were meeting this evening with the celebrant for my Dad's service and I wasn't hungry earlier. I might have an egg on top so I don't wake up ravenous during the night.0 -
I had half a protein bar and then avocado on toast. yum, I love that so much.
My dog is at the vet this morning as he has done something to his claw, poor little mite. My husband took him there.2025 GOALS

'Morning all
Another day waiting in for a parcel, Friday is usually volunteer & Lidl day but I'd known about parcel and bought what i needed yesterday
I think I'm going to get a meat mallet, I know I could bash steak with rolling pin etc but whacking with nice mallet will be more satisfying
Last night's steak was a bit chewy, despite marinade.
It was too thick to really cook through without burning the outside
What a problem to have, still after brexit there will be no steak, just gruel & stale crusts so I'm told by the Beeb:D
Porridge breakfast, nuked in 100% safe microwave:j
Lunch, must feature my HM bread, maybe bacon, lettuce & tom? But having read about crisps from Brambling, a crisp sarnie sounds nice at the moment
Dinner, maybe jumbo fish fingers, chips and yet more grilled wrinkly toms

I've just added a rhubarb crown, the one I had, from my Granddad via my mum, is with my son, I bought one from Wilko a few weeks back, so maybe next year back to crumbles
Glass gets everywhere, good job his lordship's vet bill was spared. Years ago we were out with DD in her pushchair, with devoted Labrador mix guarding her, and the dog got a glass splinter in her pad
We brought the dog home in the pushchair and DD had to toddle home, role reversal:D That was a vet job getting glass outEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
