Bread pud & ice cream last night was just right, plenty left but a bit too far for lobbing North Caron
I know what you mean about ex military shiny shoes, there's a chap comes to my volunteer place, you could see to shave in his shoes, always smartly turned out, meanwhile ex RN here, scruff bag except for weddings & funerals:o
Brambling, not tried but I reckon Dorset lamb would be delish, I know the local Hampshire ones I ordered on line were superb, but eye watering price
Once at one of my reviews my response to the "and where do you see yourself going" question knocked him a bit, "Stop working and retire early" Which I achieved:j Hope you manage the same
The chest freezer with a throw over sounds OK, but would it disturb with hum when cutting in / out?
Porridge breakfast again
made more yoghurt
It'll be the YS sushi for lunch
I've got a cooked roast chicken bit out to defrost, I think it may be from same chick that turned out a bit bloody earlier in year, if so the chicken salad idea for dinner may be subject to rapid change:(Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I remember polishing my shoes for primary school.:D
I've had water and a huge smoothie so far.
I forgot I had leftover rice, tofu and veg in the fridge so I used the tortilla wraps to make burritos when I got home yesterday.
I'm having the pineapple and jalapeno pizza today instead.:)0 -

Lunch over, I put fire on in conservatory for lunch, warmer in there than my living room:o
I've made a mix of grated carrots, celery & sweetcorn, with mayo, as extra for tonight's salad.
Someone here made similar, sorry I forget who it was, but I thought it seemed a good idea at the time, I think nuts came into the mix then, however in this house nuts have a very short lifespan once opened, like crisps & chocolate
The cooked roast chicken bit seems to be blood free, salad is therefore go, with frozen chips
One bit of rump steak out defrosting for tomorrowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

My first visit in a while...
Caronc, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad passing away. That must have been a tremendous shock. My dad did the same thing, just quietly slipped away in the night - no particular warning signs. He was only 62, and it was a huge trauma at the time.
His auntie (my great-aunt) phrased it beautifully in a card she sent to my mum at the time.
"Dying peacefully, in your sleep, in your own bed, after a nice day - is the perfect way to go." She's right, of course. I don't think there's any death that is particularly "better" for those left behind, but it's undoubtedly the best for the individual.
Sending you my best wishes. xBecause it's fun to have money!

Good evening everyone,
Yep Brambling my Dad always did his own ironing and you could cut a loaf on the crease on his trousers. Did eventually manage to persuade him it wasn't needed on jeans and show him the merits of "shake and fold" for them :rotfl:
I gave his shoes another go this morning and while not mirror shiny I think the would have passed "muster":).
My younger son lives in a tiny house and has his (very small) freezer next to his sofa as a sort of side table complete with lamp on top;), he hopes to move into a bigger place later in the year and is certain he wants a bigger one as well as he likes to batch cook and buy YS/bargains but gets frusrated that he can't as much as he would like.
My sister came by for lunch which was a rinse & repeat of yesterday using up the HM lentil soup and cooked ham before we headed out with my Dad's clothes and to do more house sorting. She has been tackling most of the heavy sorting out so the least I can do is make us lunch:cool:.
Dinner will be a quick freezer rake and involve oven chips.

If I move my shoes, I could put a different pair of shoes in my hall and that's it
Considering I live in a mid terrace 1960s house not big  it's square ish the width of a door and the stairs approx 6ft x 6ft but limited what you can do with 3 doors, the stairs, radiator and boxed pipes. I may rethink about the dining room although I agree the humming might be annoying I do have the old coal shed attached to the house so the other option is to see about adding electric in there but it would have to be a narrow freezer.
WHMF if you had told us we would have dissuaded you over the turkey leg :rotfl: but I bet it's nice
I saw in M&S today but didn't buy some skinned chicken drumstick fillets? I have brought thigh fillets occasionally but haven't seen the drumstick ones, maybe if I see them YS but Im not sure.
Lunch was the LO vegetable rice and I 'borrowed' some chilli sauce from the fridge at work to pep it up a bit. Dinner was a little cba so jacket potato, cheese and HM coleslawLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Up at daft 'o' clock today, woke up & couldn't drop back to sleep
However silver lining is I made a loaf in the Panny because there was time for a "rapid" loaf before I trot out. It's turned out looking lovely, I'll sample it at lunchtime
Black cloud for the silver lining:(
As I dragged the Panny out, first time for yonks, I spotted ratty had been chewing the microwave cable during visits prior to me poisoning him / her:mad:
The cable has been chewed through, I always switch off at socket anyway, the damage never affected the nuker because the gnawing has bitten through the Earth cable and not any of the two other cores, so it still worked, but without an Earth not as safely as it should:eek:
Having assessed the damage I considered it safe to nuke today's breakfast porridge as usual
Luckily being a man I have a shed:D,
And in that shed are lots of "come in handy" items among which is a reel of cable, and spare plugs that I cut from old "stuff":j
I need a plug because the nuker has one of these tamper proof moulded ones:(
It's only six screws to remove the cover to replace the cable, a job for when I get back from shops, and it can be done on the worktop so bending / lifting not needed
Lunch fresh bread + something sarnie
Rump steak is defrosted & in it's marinade for tonight's dinner, not sure with what yetEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
