Cooking for one (Mark Three)

damp old day, but nothing planned so not a problem
Porridge breakfast, but for a change I opened my lone jar of L's YS Polish 100% fruit blackcurrant jam to stir some in instead of banana
The jam falls into OK but shan't bother to buy another even YS again, nothing wrong with it, I was anticipating plump fruity stuff but more mush really
However, yesterday's YS W/rose posh ham was excellent, not something on my usual list due to price, but it was on offer plus YS from offer price it came down to just over £6 kg, which you could pay for tinned corned beef
I roasted mine, not very fatty, loads of meat on it, and super sweet, moist & succulent.
I made two sarnies with it for dinner, and it will feature heavily today
Lunch will be ham & salady BP baguette
Dinner, ham + no idea yet
The ham was this one but just over 1.85kg

Brambling, the vinegar looks tempting, but I'll give it a miss, I only use a sprinkle now & then on chips, a small bottle of malt lasts e for yearsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Berries and yoghurt for breakfast.
I'm making mini pizzas without the cheese, just passata, herbs, olives, tomatoes and red onion with spray oil and garlic salt. I will have one now and one tomorrow.:)0 -

Farway you can't go wrong with ham, egg and chips. I'm wishing I picked up the gammon joint I saw now. I wouldn't bother buying the vinegar, I don't notice the difference.
Wednesday seeing you're eating bread and pizza I'm hoping that means your blood tests came back good
I think the lurking lurgy is still hovering as my get up to and go gotup and left yesterday  I fell asleep watching TV 9pm last night woke up 11pm to drag myself to bed and this morning I woke up at 7am to feed his lordship and went back to bed to be woken at noon with a text  i never sleep that late unless I'm ill, I obviously needed the sleep and just hope I sleep tonight other than feeling tired and a ache in my lower back I feel ok bit of a waste of a Saturday
Lunch was the last of my crustless quiches ate standing in the kitchen, I popped to my sister's to give my nephew some currency as he's going travelling Monday for a couple of months and I need to earn my favourite auntie tagand was rewarded by some chocolate cake. Dinner will be steak and HM chips probably with some wrinkly tomatoes of my own. The steaks are on offer in W*itross so I'm treating myself because I'm worth it

I've had nothing exciting. Toast/beans/scrambled eggs late morning and two bits of toast late afternoon.
I kind of toyed with the idea of a chinese takeaway - I'd thought of that last weekend, but there was a raging storm on .... and, right now, I'm in the path of another raging storm with gusts currently just under 60mph. But, looking at the weather charts, there's a chance that'll have moved over by 10ish .... so there's still the tiny vague chance I might drag myself out about then to get a chinese .... or not.
CFO means that a takeaway meal is for one - and one order costing about £8-9 is enough for 2-3 days of food .... and the minimum order value is £12-15.... so you can't get a home delivery without over ordering so much food you think it'll never end. I've also got a house with tricky access (unless you know where it is) ... so it's a pain to try to watch out for a driver... and you probably have to tip them. It's much better/easier all round for me to simply phone it through and collect 100% of the time.
Normally I'd turn to chips, but, with a combination of running the freezer down, and the windy/bad weather this week, I've not got any chips in.0 -
I reached Peak CBA last night. The weather was still too bad/I didn't fancy getting a chinese, so it was off to the kitchen at about 9.30 looking for "something to eat". I had ideas in my head about steaming some spuds and topping with cheese.... then I spotted the carrots.
I simply peeled a carrot and walked off munching it. Dinner done0 -
I've just "got ahead of this food malarky". I've made and wrapped up three rounds of sandwiches in the fridge: cheese/pickle, tomato, egg/salad cream
So there's food easily grabbable for the coming hours.0 -
Everyone,
Thank you so much for your lovely messages xx0 -

It is good to see you and I am so sorry for your loss.
I have not got round to breakfast yet and have a day when dds , sil etc are all either on holiday, "enjoying" in laws etc so might just slob around in my dressing gown and enjoy the peace and quiet as the last week has been quite busy.
I got a very small beef joint in a meat delivery so plan to cook that in the pressure king pro later with onions, carrots and a little red wine with roast potatoes cooked in the actifry so they are lower fat. I also want to use up a couple of burgers but don't have any buns so will have them with some veg or pickles.
Remembered I just bought a small loaf yesterday and also have a couple of slices of the old loaf to use up so it looks like breakfast is toast and coffee. I get a bit tired of either using things up or freezing things so eventually plan to get back to baking my own bread which means I can choose the size, it is more filling and I know what is in it."This site is addictive!"
