    Good morning everyone,

My it was wild overnight and still battering down this morning. There's some flooding and the trains are off due to fallen trees. I'm so glad I don't have to go anywhere today.
Cleaning is on my "to do" for most of today so food will be quick & easy options. I'll use up the last of the corned beef at for lunch and tonight will be either bangers or pasta.

Dull & windy, but was not planning going anywhere today so heating
    left on

    Porridge breakfast as per usual

Have planned a fried egg sarnie for lunch, but Wednesday's mention of crisps has set me gasping for a crisp sandwich, and by coincidence I've a 6 multi pack hanging around

Dinner, completely clueless, at the moment just a sarnie seems fine [crisps?] but I've got one small LO portion of beef casserole so obvious solution is just nuke that
Decision not required for a few hours yet

Brambling, lurking lurgy, I like that idea, I have a bit of a sniffle & wheezes as it happens, otherwise feeling fine

Introducing your visitor to square sausage :D
I tried that during one of my stays up there, not to my taste but I know it's popular

I just may creep out and weed around the plum tree in it's pot, just in case something catches my eye in town tomorrow after blood test so into town after

Decent square slice is lovely but very different to standard bangers as it's not just a sausagemeat patty . There are some pretty poor examples out there mainly cheap versions that just aren't good just grease, rusk & pepper IMHO and definitely not worth the calories. However a morning roll with square slice and a tattie scone is something I love as a treat and it wouldn't be stovies without it in my house.:)

Lunch is the final crust from the freezer toasted, baked beans, grated cheddar.

I had some soya yoghurt for breakfast. It wasn't very filling so I just had baked beans on toast with some Marmite as well.:)

I have a bowl of that carrot soup for later.

Yesterday I had a craving for a salad I used to make, chopped apples, celery and peanuts in mayo. I don't know if that sounds like a weird combo.:rotfl:

I reckon it was the cheapo grotty ones I tried, works canteen fodder
The morning rolls are something that took me a while to get used to as well, but I think served as you mention it would be just the job to serve a Southerner English visitor

Managed to do mini weeding of the plum tree pot, and transplanted around the base of tree some strawberry plants that had been urgently needing TLC

In my minds eye, come summer, it is a 5 feet high plum tree, dripping with juicy plums.
With ripe red juicy strawberries hanging over the edge of an ornate cylindrical pot:)

Dinner decide, nuke the LO beef casserole and treat it like thick beefy soup, eating from nuked container & dunk stale crusts in if too much liquid

Another Wagon Wheel fell off at lunchtime:o

The best filled roll I ever had, I didn't buy, so only got ripped an inch or two .... it was from a food van on a beach at a national trust car park about 15-20 years ago.

It was a long/softish sub (looked crusty, but wasn't), filled with grated cheddar, crunchy apple, peppers, probably some mayo to bind it ... and more. Can't remember the full details, but it was gorgeous. I think it was the cheese/apple part ... and a bit of crunchy peppers went well in there too.

Yes, it's the combination of sweet, salty and crunchy.

I just made the salad, haven't had it in years!:A Super yummy.

I like to add apple to coleslaw and a few dry roasted peanuts if I'm feeling naughty, but they have to be added at last minute or it goes horrid

Had to drop the car off for its service and mot tonight as it's easier than fighting the morning traffic, i spent ten minutes searching for the service book only to find it in the glove box where I put it after I booked the service  they've given me a newer version of mine as the loan car to try and tempt me into upgrading I did tell him I was in the market for a new car as I took the keys :rotfl:

Lunch was the usual HM soup with the last of my stewed fruit and custard and dinner was scampi, HM chips, sweetcorn and a small salad to use it up
