DD came round yesterday with baby so made us lunch of a salmon fillet, roast potatoes in the actifry and some olives and gherkins as I am trying to use up stuff from freezer and fridge,

A grocery delivery arrived last night so I made a soup of pork ribs and veg which I had some of last night and the rest is in the fridge. Two DDs and a fiance are coming round tomorrow so I have a big piece of brisket to cook with roast potatoes and lots of veg. Might cook mash as well as middle DD loves that. Not sure whether to cook roast pork as well to make maximum use of the oven as also to give everyone a choice.

Planning a late breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs on toast and will finish the soup tonight to make room in the fridge. Might start cooking beef tonight in the pressure king pro and then it can go in the main oven tomorrow to save time.

I ordered a few tins of stewing steak, mince, meatballs, sardines and salmon and want to get them stored away and tidy the integral garage a bit as well as flatten empty boxes to recycle and make a bit more space.

I only have two slices of bread left so will use them up and then get a small loaf tonight or tomorrow. I am going to have to concentrate on emptying jars etc and making more space so I can store and find things.

Your post has reminded me I could use the panasonic to make my own loaf so might do that tomorrow instead. Hopefully family will be impressed by the small of fresh home made bread.

I've had avocado on toast and a smoothie. Very lazy as I bought the smoothie from the shop. I didn't even make one at home.:o:D

Hope the dog's ok Wednesday and the bill wasn't too painful :)

He just needed his claws clipped as one was stuck in his paw. It was only around £50 so not too bad! He needs to take antibiotics for a week and he was so out of it last night after we gave it to him.:p

One reason I always wear slippers but sometimes even the best forget. My DD when younger learned the hard way about slippers, went in kitchen where puss had pooped on the floor, DD was hopping about with it between her toes:eek::D. A lesson never forgotten

I did that with my dog, except I was wearing slippers and I skidded on it as I didn't see it, totally disgusting!

Hope it turns out as yummy looking, smelling, tasting as mine has
This last one one was on the 4 hour cycle, standard white, to see if any noticeable difference, taste, visual or whatever between "slow" & "rapid"

I can't say I could tell any difference, maybe with another bread flour brand there could be? I'm using L's at present

I tried the crust, but the loaf is too fresh to cut properly for a sandwich, ideal for chunk with a ploughmans'

Lunch was therefore the last bit of previous HM loaf as a BLT sarnie, lump of bread pud followed

Dinner, def decided, cheesy beans on toast, with a couple of fried eggs on top & bread pud on high alert

    Good evening everyone,
All this talk of HM bread and roast dinners has made me drool:).
It more or less stayed dry today and as my sis and I were having a day off from dealing with "Dad" stuff I had a good potter in the garden and got all the plants that arrived yesterday potted on.:D I feel much better for some fresh air and the chance to switch my brain off for a bit. I also stripped my bed and took the [STRIKE]foolish [/STRIKE] brave step of not putting flannel bedding back on. No doubt we will promptly hit a cold spell:rotfl:. The kids arrive back on Tuesday so also organised a Tesco order for MOnday evening, I've spent a huge amount on groceries this month as lots of extra mouths to feed but don't mind one bit as it's good to have folk about at the moment.

Lunch was a repeat of yestersday's soup & smoked salmon bagel. Dinner tonight is my "go to" oven bung in of jerk chicken thighs & roast veggies. I'm going to take a tub of braised steak & onions out of the fridge for dinner tomorrow. I think there were some LO spuds popped in the tub with it if so I'll just need to cook some veg with it, no doubt sprouts as I discovered an unopened bag in the fridge.

    Should've gone to Sp8csavers before I started this:D.

I would stay away from them :o I've just paid a small fortune in there this morning :eek: even with a BOGOF deal. Unfortunately I can't buy cheap glasses online :( the eye test was free as one of my sisters has glaucoma but that also means annual tests. It's been an expensive month what with the car service and in April the car insurance and annual vet bill are due, definitely dipping into the savings pot to pay off CC :(. It seems my long sight is getting better because my reading sight is getting worst, that's aging for you

At least I have no excuse not to try and make room in my full freezer and well stocked cupboard :rotfl: a voucher meant £10 off two months food for his lordship and a new cat nip toy to dribble over :D

Elona do you make your pork rib soup in the SC? It's not one I've made but I'm tempted to give it a try

Lunch was late as I didn't get back from town until after 2.30, so I just had some cheese, crackers and an apple

I roasted the duck crown for dinner with some delicious jersey royal potatoes ( my favourite) also picked up YS when I got the duck with YS runner beans and asparagus very :money:

Caronc taking off your flannel sheets  you're be taking your vest off before the end of May next :rotfl:

A bright sunny morn, think I'll do a spot of hibiscus pruning once the sun moves round later in the day

Sampled my fresh bread in a crisp sarnie last night, bread was fine but the joy of a crisp sarnie was over estimated by me, better just scoffed out of the bag

    Porridge breakfast

I've taken a salmon fillet out to defrost for dinner
I think it's salmon salad with boiled "baby" spuds for dinner

The spuds are just showing eye sprouts, which set me thinking about planting a few of them in a big pot, but having looked up Maris Piper I see they are not ideal for amateurs, prone to everything that sucks, bites or blights and need lots of sprays etc to be decent crop.
It was only an idea, not a cunning plan

Lunch, a fried egg sarnie sounds tempting at the moment

  • Farway - my thoughts are with you, I had mucked upmy Win10, mainly be cause I prefer Win7 but had to change. Good job I had stuff in freezer as it takes so long to sort and whats all this about having to change passwords all the time drives me batty. Pizza from freezer to night with the last of turkey meat, some old mushrooms added. Soup for lunch wih last slie of bread for toast. Am looking forward to actually cooking something again as turkey meat has lasted 3 days with salad.

    Afternoon all!

I've just polished off a late breakfast/early lunch of fried egg on toast, followed by coffee and biscuits. :) That should see me through until later this evening, by which time I should be hungry for the pizza that's in the freezer. :)

Went out for dinner with a friend last night. Nothing fancy, burger and chips. Must have been absolutely PACKED with salt though, as I was gasping within a couple of hours, and needed 2 pints of squash before bed! Clearly did need it though, as none really came through later!

Did a Tescos run earlier... I swear my Tesco used to be fairly quiet on a Sunday morning, first thing... But it isn't now. It's packed! I might swap back to Saturday mornings... Go in at 8, and it's very peaceful. Beautiful weather out there today though. A nip in the air still, but gorgeous sun!
