I managed to sort out the burnt on bottom layers of my pressure king pro inner pot by dissolving a dishwasher tablet in boiling water, leaving it for an hour and gently using a sponge on it and then repeating.
I have some pork loin chops so might put them in the pressure king pro with onions, tomatoes, butter beans and some baby potatoes for later. Had a late brunch of a rasher of bacon, two eggs and two small slices of bread around eleven and want to start noting what I eat and when and start to lose weight again."This site is addictive!"

That pork was superb, it's New Forest pannage and not cheap but it tastes gorgeous https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pannage
I've plenty left so thinking maybe a cold meat salad tomorrow.
Pigs which have been put out in the forest to eat the acorns. One of my sisters lives on the edge of the new forest. At least it's the weather for salads at the moment
Lovely day here definitely no jacket required when walking lunchtime. We've been busy at work this week and by this afternoon I was getting slightly scatty luckily not with work but everything else at least i gave my colleagues some amusement. Not sure if that's why the boss decided to send us home at 4.30pm before I completely lost the plot
Lunch was some HM minestrone soup from the freezer and dinner was quorn fillet, HM chips and green veg so really easyLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
At 7.50am I decided to get dressed and rush to 4ldi perchance some half price stuff.
Half price stickers: 1.5Kg pork/beef mince; 2.5Kg maris piper spuds; 6 oven bottom muffins
Bought at full price: A frozen dinner for one fisherman's pie, one tin of mixed beans. They are often out of mixed beans, most times they have none and today I got the last tin.
Total spend £5.08.
I've just made up two rounds of sandwiches and wrapped them in foil in the fridge... so they can be grabbed on a whim.
Defrosting the freezer's not going to happen this week as the fisherman's pie was a frozen one, so that's gone in - and I've put half a loaf of bread in there too this morning!
For the mince, which is dated today, I need to work out if I'm going to separate/flatten/freeze it (two packs of 750g each, so could make three 500g packs or six 250g packs). OR ... make a kebab today. OR .... a bit of both of those. I'm thinking I might just make a kebab with one pack and freeze the other.... then I could have kebabs for tea0 -
PN, seems we were up about same time, but I opted for pot of tea & slouch shouting at Brexit radio:)
Post tea & shouting it was time for porridge breakfast:j
Lovely sunny day, forecast is warm as well, a bit of garden pottering I think
Lunch not decided, after watching a bit about "perfect" cheese on toast it has me thinking maybe that's lunch?
I've taken a portion of chips sized spud out of fridge in anticipation of cold meat salad for dinnerPigs which have been put out in the forest to eat the acorns. One of my sisters lives on the edge of the new forest. At least it's the weather for salads at the moment

I was up at 6am, I just don't bother to get dressed most days unless I'm actually leaving the house. No point mucking up clothes if I'm not going anywhere.
I made up one pack (750g) of the mince into kebab.
The other one's still in the fridge, but, having observed the mess I just made and had to clear up, clear away, wash up etc ... I think that second pack will just be opened/squashed into a bag and tossed in the freezer as I really don't want to be making another kebab and freezing that... especially as, when it came down to it, I was missing onion powder, so had to grate an onion instead (stinks! and creates washing up).
So that's about £1.75 to make 760g of kebab meat. Meat £1.50 (half price) + gubbins and stuff and the onion I'll round up to 25p for that lot.
Had a biscuit and coffee for breakfast.0 -

Thought I'd just drop by and say hi - I've been kind of cooking for one for the last year, as OH was working away during the week. He came home 'for good' (well, until the next contract) just before Christmas, and at the beginning of January we decided to split up. So now I'm cooking for one for real!
Until we get the finances sorted out, I've decided to go into 'survival mode' - eating out of the cupboards (as it was just after Christmas, there was a lot in the cupboards), all shopping from Aldi, rubber chicken, cooking everything from scratch, buying no alcohol, meal planning. My weekly food bill is currently averaging £16.37, which I'm quite proud of. I know it's not sustainable - eventually the food in the cupboards will run out and have to be replaced - but should be do-able until I know where I stand financially. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Welcome Trailingspouse, sorry about the domestic situation but we all arrive at CFO in various ways
Not sure if you've followed this thread, but there is not a magic secret in CFO, the only magic bit is you can please yourself how, when, where & what you eat
Cold LO pizza for breakfast, crumpets for dinner or full on roast, your choices and no one will worry about ti on here
Lunch was as forecast, grilled cheese on toast, this time I sploshed a bit of L & P sauce the finished meal
Dinner, no change from the cold LO pork + salad & HM skin on chipsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
The kebab meat cooked, I sliced it into four chunks and wrapped three in foil for the fridge - and thinly sliced one by hand and served that in one of the bread/muffins I bought this morning.
I expect those three kebab portions will get eaten .... but, just in case, there's always the freezer .. *sighs* ... the freezer I was trying to empty so I can defrost it.
Since running the freezer down to defrost it and getting it sooooo close to being empty, I've added: 1.5Kg chips, 700g hash browns, a portion of breaded fish, half a loaf of bread, a frozen ready meal and now some raw mince.... might be some other things in there I've forgotten too.
Later on I'll probably serve myself some kebab meat and chips... it is Saturday night after all0
