Want to make some pancakes but always make too much batter and then eat all of them. Cannot bring myself to buy ready made ones partly because they are easy, cheap, and I do not have freezer space. Just used half banana (had other half in porridge) with last of custard for a pud, seldom have puddings.Back home, out & about day
Freya has moved on so out today, sorry all;)
After porridge breakfast off to Wisley, via the fruit nursery to collect my new apple tree
Bit chilly out but rain kept off, even had a bit of sun
Pub for lunch, not a pie, went for 3 local game bangers, every one different, with mash, leeks / onions. Very nice, and filling
Wet snow & hail on way home, at least in the car by then
I don't need an evening meal, may have a sarnie, egg maybe?
This today's only downer was my electric toothbrush has packed in, batteries OK, technical term is it's b*ggered:(
Not a big problem, I think I've seen them in L's but maybe that was a special? I'll check tomorrow anyway, meanwhile back to old style until I get a replacement
Good evening everyone,
Weather this afternoon has been mixed, to say the least, with one constant it's perishing! Stayed in doors "melting" my savings pots instead- birthday & baby gifts, more smokeless fuel, some new mugs and bath towels, yoga pants and some much needed new undies:). Still have more birthdays to sort out but at least that's the first one covered:D. The bulk of the birthdays I buy for each year fall in Mar/April and then Oct/Nov, I seem to not have to think about it for ages and then they come along like buses. :)Also rearranged this week's hygenist appointment as really don't want tilted just now.
Lunch ended up being a cheese salad sarnie with a small mug of leek & tattie soup. Definitely need to replenish my HM soup stocks this week. For dinner I'm thinking various veg with Chinese-style curry sauce and a poached egg would do nicely and not take long to put together as well as use up some of the lurking veg supplies which I'm sure are multiplying when I'm not looking:rotfl:.0 -
I'll probably avoid making pancakes tomorrow, unfortunately you can only decrease the recipe down to one egg and that's still leaves extra batter. I'm a traditionalist and like sugar and lemon juice on mine
. The waist line will appreciate not eating any
Glad you had a good day at Wisley Farway and enjoyed lunchyou were lucky with the weather, the promised light showers and a light breeze turned into a two hour downpour and howling winds at 2pm  March is definitely coming in like a lion this year. Our office is on the fifth floor so any storm always seems a lot worst.
Sounds like a productive day Caronc even if your savings pot took a slight bashing
Some idiot (me) put a new jar of lemon curd in the wrong cupboard  when I opened it this morning the jar fell out  luckily although it broke it was a contained messI only use it occasionally as I like to add it to Greek yogurt and add to meringue with fruit, I was more annoyed as it was a new jar.
Lunch was HM chicken and rice noodles soup, I really enjoyed it so must write down what I put in it so I can make again  For dinner I breadcrumbed the remaining two thigh fillets and airfried them, I will do again as they were really crunchy and tasted 'naughty' a friend gave me some fine breadcrumbs from the world food section in Mr Ts which I added some spices and just coated the chicken with no egg or flour, definitely better than baking themI had them with a few HM chips and a light coleslaw made with red cabbage, kohlrabi and apple

Was it the Polish breadcrumbs Brambling?- I get those and really like them and they are often on BOGOF.
Kholrabi are impossible to buy here unless you go to Glasgow, I grew them last year and will again this year, they were small and I didn't get lots but they were lovely:D.
No curry made, decided I didn't fancy it - chicken kiev & waffles bunged in the oven with cauli, broccoli, asparagus & grean beans. Still shifted some of the veg mountain though:)0 -

Just checked the packetand yes it's the Polish breadcrumbs, my friend got them bogof which is why I benefited, a little goes a long way with them, and they work really well in the airfryer
I picked up a really nice kohlrabi at the market last week, I haven't seen one in the SM recently so grabbed it.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Cold, wet and miserable here this morning, I think the wheelie bin will be as far as I'm straying!
Easy soup being made for lunch using a bag of HM veg & butterbean stew from the freezer as the base. Should make enough for a couple of portions.:)
Still undecided if I cba to make pancakes, if not the ham & veg in mushroom sauce from the freezer I was planning to stuff them with will be used with pasta.0 -
Cereal with a banana and almond milk.
I'm going to make that bean salad I had yesterday into a soup and add lots of extra veggies and have it with the last wholemeal roll.0 -
Yuck! That was the worst soup I have ever made, black beans, sweetcorn, tomatoes, onion and carrots. I think it must have been the beans as I don't usually have them in soup.
Oh well, I ate as much as I could to not waste it.:rotfl:2025 GOALS
