Had fish finger sarnies yesterday and today for lunch (I really like them but forget to go into the far away freezer to get them out), have made about a pint of pancake batter - living on the edge, thats me - and thanks for the tip about lemon curd (I love) and the yoghurt. I buy large greek yog when reduced and as I not keen on plain yoghurt anyway, I seem to have it unopened in fridge for weeks, now I can add the curd. I only buy because it is supposed to be good for me, ditto fish !!! Got tub of brown stuff from freezer to defrost and I think it is beef stew thats for dinner.0

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

"far away freezer" ... ah, people with more than oneMine's just 2½ baskets, of a regular width freezer.
have made about a pint of pancake batter - living on the edge, thats melemon curd (I love)
Optional splashing of icing on top if one CBA.
To make 4 little pieces, in a square dish about 6-7" square, it's 40g each of sugar, marg, cheap oats, then 50g of plain flour.... whatever you've got/not desperately critical on marg/butter, or caster/granulated/coloured. Just squash all that lot up, starting with marg/sugar, then flour and oats.
Curd is: couple of spoons ... thinner is best first time to prevent over-spill as it cooks/bubbles a tad. Nuke just 4 minutes in a 700w nuke box. It's pretty forgiving and you can watch it through the window to make sure it's OK.
Here's one I've made in the past, but I use curd or jam or marmalade or chocolate spread or even half a mashed banana. https://yapics.com/a2205d91f03-30660 -
Life back to routine todaySounds like an excellent day Farway especially the game bangers. MY electric toothbrush died recently and I got my replacement 1/2 price in Tesco - £18 which I thought was ok for a "brand". Offer seems still to be on so maybe worth a look if Lidl don't have any.:)
Thanks, nice to get guide price, long time since i bought one
No leccy toothbrushes in L's, must have been a special, no YS either, slim pickings again
No t*sco near me, and I loath & hate them with a vengeance anyway, closed my local pub a few years back and turned it into an express after kicking the landlady out for Christmas:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
They, along with some other things, are on my "barge pole" list
Meanwhile, back to grub, cheese & salady bits sarnie for lunch
Salmon fillet out defrosting, tonight is that, plus salad and HM skin on chips
I'm also defrosting a rump steak for tomorrow. I've freshish mushrooms need using, so looking like steak, eggs, mushrooms, chips on the way
Not pancaking today, now I realise where all the eggs went in L's last weekEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

:eek: How odd, I didn't know you couldn't do that, hope it gets sorted out. I've loads of recipes in Word docs as I typed them up from my full of family handowns etc. for my kids when they left home. I'll know not to make that mistake on here.
Good evening everyone,
After I had splashed my way to the bin it promptly stopped raining! There's been a few nasty showers but clear skies now so probably frost overnight if that stays that way. It's been really cold today, much more the norm for this time of year than the recent warm weather. I'm back to being a woman wearing many layers and thick socks.
Pancakes are on hold as my son is home this weekend and loves them. He's not sure he'll have time to make any tonight so hinted we could maybe make some when he's here. Much as I like them, twice in a week would be pushing it for me so I'll wait and see what happens.
Plan B was to try baking a spud on the stove but got waylaid by a visitor and then on the phone and don't want to wait for one to cook now. Macaroni with ham & veg in mushroom sauce it is:).
The soup made from of the veg/butter bean stew from the freezer plus some stock & milk worked really well. Had a mug of it with sliced boiled egg & tomato on toast for lunch and there's enough left for a couple more portions.:)0 -
WHMF hoped you enjoyed your pancakes
I'm now thinking about fishfinger sandwiches
PN I used to make something similar with banana I never thought to try it with lemon curd, maybe next time when I feel the urge to bake
Back to De-icing the car this morning which was a little unexpected and very cold, I should have worn gloves as my hands ached all morning. Then a busy day at work today as on top of the usual beginning of the month work we spent the afternoon testing system upgrades as it was from 1pm it meant a early lunch which threw me all afternoon with my stomach gurgling by 4.30pm, if I walk lunchtime I don't usually eat lunch until 2 ish. Dinner was then early and quick which means I'm thinking food again. I'm aiming to avoid the urge to raid the kitchen
Lunch was the second of my HM soup this time 'green minestrone' with spinach tortellini and thinly sliced steakI had a large bowl so I shouldn't have been gurgling later. Dinner was cba again as I was hungry when I got in later than usual, I had some 'falafel' of sort in the freezer picked up on offer at the beginning of the year, these were with spinach and pinenuts, no very spicy but tasty and quick in the airfryer. I just added some tinned sweetcorn which is probably why I'm feeling peckish now  I'll have to take something out of the freezer for tomorrow as work will be a repeat of today,
