Afternoon everyone!
It must have bucketed it down overnight, as puddles are everywhere, and it's half-heartedly drizzled all day so far!
I'd planned to go to Lidl, but in the end, couldn't be bothered with the extra trek, and faff, in the rain - so went to Tesco, but shopped carefully, scanning the bottom shelves for the basic brand!
For an early lunch, I finished the loaf of bread. I'd meant to have it for supper yesterday, but once I'd had the pizza for tea, I didn't fancy anything else.
For tea later, I'm thinking of doing a cheesy meatball pasta thing. I RARELY have pasta, but I've got a load of it in the cupboard, that I feel like I need to on with and eat. Because if I don't eat it, no one else will, and it'll be a waste of money otherwise. Strange though, I used to eat a lot of pasta, and had it at least once, most weeks. Put I probably haven't cooked it for myself in the better part of a year. It's strange how your taste for things goes in cycles.
Plan for the rest of the afternoon... Doing a home hair-dye kit! I'm going back to bright blonde, after 6 months or so of my natural dark blonde/mousy brown. I've been meaning to do it for WEEKS, and promised myself I'd do it today... I'll need to crank up the heating for an hour first though... As a hair dying session always results in dye getting everywhere, so I've learnt from experience, that getting nearly naked is the best way to avoid ruining everything! Not expecting any visitors today!
Because it's fun to have money!

Back after lunch of beef sarnie
I think it'll be same for dinner, CBA to anything else
FZ, same here for pasta, been thinking of doing some for weeks now, like you it was once a week but now seems too much faffing
I shan't be dying my hair though I may have a shave tomorrow before I go to WisleyEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Farway there was really no need to share Freya
. Horrible weather here for most of the day and currently blowing up again, an empty wheelie bin going over can make a lot of noise
.
Flubberzing I've also seemed to have stopped eating pasta, I used to eat it at least once a week but other than some small shapes added to minestrone soup I haven't eaten any in a while and there are a couple of packs in the cupboard
I went round to visit an old neighbours this morning to try and sort out some paperwork for her she wants to set up a LPA and I've been looking on site to avoid her paying a lot for a 'professional' to do it :money: It would have been easier if she had stopped talking whilst I was trying to read instructions  I shouldn't complain as she fed me fillet steak and salad, I have told her that fillet is wasted on me and I'm happy with rump but that doesn't cross the doorstep. :rotfl: it explains why she's always broke, each bit was big enough to feed two and from W*itrose so cost a small fortune  I brought half home as a doggy bag, She thought it was for his lordship, but I told her that's not a taste I want him to acquire :rotfl: as it was very rare I sliced it thin and added to my soup.
I made two lots of soup this afternoon and will freeze some later, I wanted a change so one is a Chinese chicken noodle with lots of small diced veg and the other is very loosely based on a recipe called green minestrone with spinach tortellini, (the tortellini were in the freezer) I also added the LO steak. I'm currently not hungry so dinner if required will be soup or fruit saladLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good evening everyone,
Gosh I wish I had neighbours that fed me steak Brambling, even though fillet isn't my favourite cut I wouldn't have declined:rotfl:. Your soups sound gorgeous - I can never think of "two soups" without smiling and thinking of the Victoria Wood/Julie Walters sketch......
I hope your hair dying was uninterrupted flubberyzing, back when I used to dye mine I could more or less guarantee I'd get an unexpected visitor in the middle of it:eek:.
Yesterday's storm died off around lunchtime and we now have the joy of "Freya" hitting, thankfully we are on the fringe but hope all those in the worst of it are safe and sounds. Two separate stormy weather systems in 36 hours is making me , I was just beginning to get the "wonky donkey" locked back up but the pressure changes have it kicking again:mad::mad:.
Used up the going OOD of date bacon for brunch with an egg and fried tomatoes. Stir fry tonight and I'll probably skip the rice or noodles after a calorie heavy lunch but will see how hungry I am.0 -

It's probably why my shopping's always been pretty cheapish ... I'm short, so those "products priced at eye level" aren't MY eye-level! I'm also somebody who walks "looking down". In fact, I very rarely look at the upper shelves in shops as they're high/can't see much from down here.
Yesterday I went out for an aimless drive around areas I might wish to move to.... in the god awful weather. It started with an indoor car boot sale, but there was little there as the sellers hadn't bothered to come - so those who were there tended to be the "sellers/dealers" types and not selling things I might be interested in.
I was annoyed at myself for not having packed my own sandwiches, so had to pop into a CoOp by 10am as I was starving... got their cheapest tuna sandwich (£1.25)and a bag of 6 reduced price fairtrade bananas (67p). You used to be able to get a cheap sandwich for 99p-£1.05 or so .... not at the CoOp it seems.
When I got home I reheated some of the chilli I'd made the day before and served that with chips.
Finished off the pack of chocolate oat biscuits.
Then I thought "my tooth hasn't hurt all day, maybe it's over" - but, just now, I've had a hot coffee and it's backSo it's hot things that give me raging tooth/gum ache.
Today I have to do a "big clean around" as I've got a viewing and as I've not had one for about 2-3 weeks I got a bit "slack"0 -
Good morning everyone,
Shame the pain has flared back up PN, hope it settles quickly <<hug>>
After a wild night it's dry & calm here this morning though decidedly chilly. It's to get wet & windy again later but we've escaped the worst of the storm.
I had a clumsy start to the day as I dropped and smashed one of my favourite mugs which of course wasn't quite empty......
I'm not sure about food for today, egg mayo sarnie & the last of the freezer soup stash (leek & tattie) for lunch I think and something veg heavy for dinner but that's as far as my thinking has got so far.0 -
Want to make some pancakes but always make too much batter and then eat all of them. Cannot bring myself to buy ready made ones partly because they are easy, cheap, and I do not have freezer space. Just used half banana (had other half in porridge) with last of custard for a pud, seldom have puddings.0

Diet starts today so I had two crumpets with raspberry jam for breakfast and then a bean and corn salad with salsa for lunch.
The salad really filled me up so I didn't finish it all.
I will have the rest of the salad in the afternoon as well as a banana or something.
I'm having a spicy tofu, Quorn, rice and veggie stir fry for dinner.2025 GOALS

Back home, out & about day
Freya has moved on so out today, sorry all;)
After porridge breakfast off to Wisley, via the fruit nursery to collect my new apple tree
Bit chilly out but rain kept off, even had a bit of sun
Pub for lunch, not a pie, went for 3 local game bangers, every one different, with mash, leeks / onions. Very nice, and filling
Wet snow & hail on way home, at least in the car by then
I don't need an evening meal, may have a sarnie, egg maybe?
This today's only downer was my electric toothbrush has packed in, batteries OK, technical term is it's b*ggered:(
Not a big problem, I think I've seen them in L's but maybe that was a special? I'll check tomorrow anyway, meanwhile back to old style until I get a replacementEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
