Good afternoon everyone,
Hope your tum settles Farway
My shopping has been delivered and I got my round steak, I'll be wielding a meat mallet later to bash it out:).
It grey, drizzly and chilly here so I'm not straying further than the wheelie bin. My balance is still very off so happy to potter about indoors.
I need to portion out what's left of the corned beef stew, looking at the tub I reckon there are 2 and a bit portions left. If that's the case I'll have the "bit" for lunch, otherwise it will be a cheese sarnie and salad.
Steak sandwich with mushrooms & onions for dinner tonight.0 -

Way back, 1950s, the London Transport bus tickets were thin cardboard, different colours for different denominations, given out by conductor with a hole punched for fare stage paid for
These tickets had serial numbers, so an inspector could check your ticket came from that bus on that day, no sneaking on & rushing upstairs using old tickets
Adding these serial numbers eventually gave you a double digit number, if that number came to 21 that was the jackpot, at least in a ten year old child's mind

Tum's better, bit of fruit cake sampled post lunch
Dinner, tin of soup seems likely, but I've some spamalike in fridge, so could have that & pickle sarnieEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
Glad your tum is settling Farway, must be the day for dodgy digestions as my Dad has had a flare up!
As I thought there were 2 and bit portions of corned beef stew in the tub and I had the "bit" for lunch with a buttered roll and some beetroot.:)
My sister got finished work a bit earlier than usual so popped by for a coffee and a natter, my Dad was supposed to be going to hers tonight for a takeaway and a dvd but he'd had to cancel so I got the benefit of her early finish.:)
Mushrooms and onions are cooked and just need heating up when I'm ready to cook the beef ham. I decided not to spice it and just use cracked black pepper. A glass of red will be poured to enjoy with it:D0 -
Glad to see the medical properties of fruit cake at work Farway :rotfl: hope the tum is recovered
How are the teeth PN?
Definitely Friday feeling in the office today, the senior manager has been overseas all week and my manager turned a deaf ear to us putting the world to rights. What needed to be done was done so he wasn't too bothered as next week will be manic and probably extra hours required. I've turned down a work trip to India for early April, not a jolly  but 10-14 days with the boss working with our IT developers, the last time they went it was 12 hour days 6 days a week with temperatures heading towards 40 degrees I told him as a overweight lady of a certain age I can't do that kind of heat I didn't mention the asthma
.
Lunch was lentil lasagna from the freezer, unfortunately that's the last of any lasagna in the freezer. I didn't need much dinner and still a little CBA to cook so had sardines in tomato sauce on toast. His lordship who usually turns his nose up at any human food shot downstairs and tried to mug me for some  at least I know what I need to do if I have to [STRIKE]bride[/STRIKE] entice him

No better. It won't go away. One of them's loose he said ... and I think that's the main thing. But the ache is still top and bottom(loose). *sighs* ... so not felt motivated to each much in the way of "proper food".
In an effort to continue to empty the freezer, so I can defrost it, last night I removed the final pack of frozen beef cubes.... I thought "chilli". I also pulled out a frozen green pepper, frozen red pepper and two frozen chillies.... so that's made quite a gap. It's nearly empty now to be honest!
Got the SC out and chucked in the beef, two onions, peppers, chillies, tin of mixed beans and some chilli powder, put the lid on and walked off. That should be "food" later today.... not sure what with. Maybe first portion can go with a nuked spud as I've a few spuds still to get through.
Did an "early doors dash" to 4ldi as they opened, perchance a half price something or other - absolutely nothing. There were a couple of bread-type items reduced and 3 packs of some fruit thing. So no half price stickers for me this morning.
Still managed to spend £5.20 as I bought a loaf of bread, pack of 8 Lincs sausages, 10 eggs, pint of milk, 4 cans of beans, jar of chilli powder, a bar of chocolate and a pack of choccy oat biscuits.
I noticed 4ldi have four flavours of "tuna with stuff", these are tiny/individual tins and I was tempted to get the tuna/chilli one, but the £/100g is twice a regular can of tuna price, so I didn't bother. But if anybody likes a bit of "tuna with something flavouring it" that's a sandwich filler size they've got them, about 89p from memory (although I wasn't taking particular note).
All this food .... but I think I've got a yearning for sausage rolls to be honest.0 -

Snap, but I was in L's, with similar result @£4.24, milk was main reason for going, with tum yesterday I missed my "normal" pop in on Friday mooching, lettuce, toms, cuc & offer Savoy at 49p. All look good size & quality, sometimes the lettuce / toms are not worth bringing home
Before I went I had porridge etc breakfast
Then popped my "emergency" XCFO Parmesan & tomato bread mix in the Panny bread maker. My wonky fingers are not really up to kneading these days, plus why have a BM & not use it?
The bread is finished & cooling, looks & smells like there will be serious damage done to it a lunch time:DEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Gorgeous looking bread Farway, I could make a serious dent in that given half a chance:D.
Glad you and puss enjoyed your supper Brambling
<<hugs>> PN nothing like toothache to make you feel miserable:(
Some stormy weather on it's way here, though I think we might be getting off lightly compared to some areas. I've done my wheelie bin run and re-stocked the log pile so need to venture out until it blows out.
Beef ham steak sandwich last night was very good:), though I did manage to scorch the pan the onions and mushrooms were in yapping on the phone to my son:o. It's had a soak overnight so hopefully will clean up without too much bother.
BLT for lunch and chicken thigh/veg tray bake tonight.0 -
^ The bread looks nice.
I've had a banana and I have popped a frozen pizza in the oven.
I'm eating out today so I will only eat half of it and then have the rest tomorrow.0 -
I tried a breadmaker once... about 10 years ago. Didn't get on with it.
I'd never seen one, never used one.... but put everything in and waited... I was online and posted "it looks funny" and my friend who'd told me to get one said "it'll be all right ... you're too impatient" - but, as I had zero knowledge whatsoever of what a breadmaker does and what that's supposed to look like I had no idea something HAD gone wrong.
What it did was: started mixing the stuff, the paddle fell off, it ended up as just a watery mix of goo ... which it then baked into a 1½" high brick, with the paddle embedded in one end.
I tried it a few more times and watched it each time - and ate the bread, which actually costs more than buying a sliced loaf.... and then the bucket started coming loose. I had to stand over it all the time in case the bucket came unscrewed/loose, then reach in and give it another twist if it did rattle.
In the end .... I gave it away as "be careful, that bucket comes loose"
When I bought it I even bought a "special" bread knife with a lifetime guarantee (cost a fortune! probably £10 or so) .... that only got used half a dozen times, still got it/never have need to use it.0 -
The HM bread was excellent, even though there is some garlic in the mix somewhere it's nice despite that "hint"
I used some to make a cheese + salady bits sarnie for lunch
Followed by lump of HM fruit loaf
Removed a pasty to defrost for dinner, CBA to think of doing anything else, if I CBA I'd even get car out & go to the chippy
I may do some skin on HM chips to go with, that plus ketchup / brown sauce is about the summit of my meal aspirations today
Bad mess with the bread maker PN, I don't often use mine these days, it was only because I had an "emergency bread mix" nearing use by date that it came out this morning
I've had bricks as well, which is supper annoying when it's taken about 4 hours to just get a brick:mad:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
