  • I couldn't get to sleep last night as I napped during the day. I drifted off about 2 and had weird dreams about climbing up mountains and going up escalators. I must have felt wonky and dizzy from almost having a migraine yesterday.

I don't know if Caronc can relate to that as I used to get those dreams a lot when I had vertigo?!

It's funny but I read that having reflexology can resurface old symptoms before it makes them better as I haven't had a migraine or vertigo dreams for a while!

Wednesday just make it clear to your estate agents how much notice you require for viewing it will benefit them as they will know you need to sort the animals which will show the house better. I once arrived home 10 minutes before a viewing to feathers everywhere and a smug looking cat, I just managed to dispose of the body and feathers in time :rotfl:

Yes, I'm probably going to have to make it clear that short notice viewings are not on.

To be honest where I live I think the new buyer would be a buy-to-let landlord anyway.

  • I had a cup of hot water with lemon and then baked beans on toast.:)

I'm going to have some green tea after my bath.

I ordered some chai tea and camomile tea in the shopping as I'm cutting out normal tea and coffee as I'm trying to reduce my blood pressure as I have a GP appointment next week.

I'm not sure what I will be having later...

You need to think hard and long about what you can work with.... it might be, say, that you "can do anything with 2 days' notice", or "only do bookings for Fri-Sun and I promise to make it available" ...

I've had one "somebody in the office wants to see it ....." - they didn't get to see it :) I've had a couple where a booking was made with me, 2 days hence, then another one tacked onto that first one immediately after, so no extra hassle for me if they do two back to back.

I've been trying to note when I get calls/what to expect, but you can't really ... although Thu/Fri calls for a Saturday appointment are probably most common. I've also had a call Monday morning for a Wednesday appointment - and last Friday for a Monday morning appointment (that then cancelled).

I've only had the one cancellation (he'd offered/been accepted on one he saw Thu/Fri last week).

Note though, re landlords, there are fewer of them about. Two years ago my house was prime "second/holiday homes -or- landlords".... not now they have to pay extra stamp duty for that.

Agents seem to perpetually bang on about "family homes" and how lovely your place will be for a family.... I've never seen my house as "ideal for a family" on any level! And, to date, I've not had one person with children view it.

My house is small even for a 2 bed house and the couple who lived here before me had 2 kids in the smaller bedroom, that must have been really cramped!

Are you moving to a different area or to a bigger place?

    Yep sounds familiar

    Good morning everyone,

Well I'm up, washed, dressed and had breakfast but have the get up and go of a damp cloth! I think plans for today will involve a lot of not very much, though I might get a pot of soup on the go.
Either stovies from the freezer or a quick pasta dish for dinner tonight, will see what I fancy later.
Off to set the stove up before my oomph completely deserts me;)

Pot of "Scottish pencillin" made (aka chicken, veg and rice soup) and thanks to my trusty pressure cooker it is ready for lunch. It's turned wet and chilly here so a bowl of that and a couple of crackers with the last of the St. Augur cheese will do nicely.:D
  • Smoothie again for lunch. I try to have the smoothie for breakfast but I always fancy something more savoury in the morning.

I'm making a veg stir fry again for dinner with frozen stir fry mix and added mushrooms and onions and this time with WW noodles and sweet chilli sauce.:)

I'm glad (in a way) that you understood what I meant as I realised reading back that is sounded a little weird.:rotfl:

Back to normal service today, snow & frost over, damp & misty now

Nil breakfast, into L on way to Volunteering

YS jackpot:j There they were, pack of two cod fillets in crumbs, YS to 20p, BBE tomorrow.
One small corner of one fillet has lost some of it's crumbs, awful, absolutely should be chucked in the bin:D

That's my F & C craving solved, no prizes for forecasting tonight's dinner

Lunch was PB baguette, with corned beef & onion inside, then made freezer space & finished off last of the salted caramel ice cream, it only had a couple spoonfuls left in it, so not piggy sized

On same tracks again, I was only thinking I'd try & lug out my pressure cooker, it's way back in bottom cupboard so quite a job to get it, and it may need a new seal it's so long since it was used. It's a Prestige so spares readily available should I ever reach it.

I used to make a demon bacon & onion suet roll thingy in it, much to my vegetarian children's' disgust when they lived here:)

Mine is 750 sq ft/68 sq m - although as about 1/3rd of that is a hall/stairs/disabled friendly loo slap bang in the middle it kind of reduces the functionality and any feeling of space. The house is 12' wide; living room's about 12' square, kitchen's 12'x8'. Bed 1 is about 12'x10', Bed2 is about 12'x8'.

Different area ... don't need a bigger place, ideally I'd like more "facilities".... e.g. a garage, off road parking within a clear boundary (walled/fenced/gated)... a conservatory of any size/sort is but a dream.... ideally a bungalow, many of those seem to have peculiar layouts though.

Ideally the living room and kitchen will be adjacent ... a breakfast bar divide would be perfect, but unrealistic in my budget most of the time .... they seem to exist in more expensive builds, or inadequate new builds were everything's "cramped".

I have inspected, online, about 1100-1200 properties in a 20 mile radius that come onto the market in my price bracket.... and none have been "Oh that's the one for me!" - they are all compromises on many levels.

Today, so far, I've scoffed my way through:

    Two crumpets, with margarine.
The final good sized portion of the mince/veg I cooked several days ago + 3 dumplings.
One crumpet, with chocolate spread on.
