I'm starting to fancy chippy fish & chips, if this weather keeps up that could be on the menu sometime this week

The joy of a chippy tea!!! :T
  • I thought I may as well get some stuff done as I felt better so I vacuumed downstairs, turned down the heaters and put the halogen heater away as it's meant to be much milder here.

I just had a strawberry, blueberry, banana and almond milk smoothie.

I'm having a veggie stir fry with tamari and brown rice tonight.:A
Yes, but it was OK as I do need to "keep on top of all things" just in case there's a short-notice call... it's done now.

The thing is, I start planning round one several days ahead... e.g. I deliberately haven't done any washing as washing draped on airers is another item to manage/remove from the house and tidy away if somebody's coming; I specifically didn't cook anything with a strong smell since Saturday ... it's that sort of stuff that gets "out of sync with what one'd have chosen" ...

I was thinking of moving house next year and that is making me think how difficult that will be as we have 3 cats with a litter tray and 2 little dogs that yap. It will be hard trying to organise them at short notice.

You just have to think about what is actually achievable for yourself ... but with an "eye on sales" in mind. There's what the magazines would tell you that you MUST do (ignore that glossy rubbish) ... but do take a bit of time to "do the best you can, with what you've got". My house looks bare/uninviting because .... I don't own the possessions to make it look smart/glamorous :) so I got untidy stuff out of sight and put out "best towels" for viewings .....

My neighbour's house has just gone on the market, just looked round his online ... to get mine from what it is, to match his for "homeliness" I'd have to spend about £1300-1400 on "stuff I don't want/need" just to try to persuade somebody to view it ... which is nonsense isn't it ... actually, I bet his "nice/large corner sofa" cost just that much on its own .... my 3-seater sofa cost me £40 second hand :) He's got "nicer stuff" than me ... but probably a lot more money than me and a lot lot more income.

PN, with the number of viewings you must be doing it right.

Bummer, just realised I've not changed the bedding:eek:
Off to do that now, then dinner, then nuffin' else:D

No sign of the gas fire part, so looks like I'll be wasting another day, waiting for it tomoz:(.
Anyway, have just got a chick pea n spinach curry out of the freezer for later.
're house moves.I've been in this one since 86, n it still needs a lot doing to it  If I ever move , it will be to a smaller house in Spain, but will have to see how Brexit goes ;)

My aunt lived/died there... she lived with the royals, in their palace, where they gave her a free apartment. I doubt if I rock up and bang on the door they'll give me one though :)

I've got a photo of her holding one of the newly born princesses in the 70s.

    Good evening everyone,

Glad the headache has eased Wednesday:)
Bummer re the viewing being cancelled PN and your wasted day CG:mad:
I slept most of the afternoon but still feel tired so I think an early night calls and tomorrow might just be a duvet day if the grottiness persists. I've plenty of HM ready meals in the freezer so don't need to do much cooking for a few days if I don't feel like it. There are also LO Christmas choccies and ice cream if the urge strikes. :) Freezing hard here now but it's to get milder and wetter again later tomorrow.

Hope the antiBs kick in soon Caronc :grouphug: it looks like several CFOs aren't feeling 100% at the moment :(

Wednesday just make it clear to your estate agents how much notice you require for viewing it will benefit them as they will know you need to sort the animals which will show the house better. I once arrived home 10 minutes before a viewing to feathers everywhere and a smug looking cat, I just managed to dispose of the body and feathers in time :rotfl:

The cold weather here has been replaced by rain, with it forecasted to continue all week :( I suppose I can't complain too much as I complained about de-Icing the car all last week :rotfl: it just meant I missed my lunchtime walk.

Lunch was HM minestrone soup and dinner was LO vegetable rice with LO salmon

Edit - the bird's body not the cat although I was tempted

Pastures Its awful having to have your home on show as it were and I'd hate it. Re your lack of possessions I'd say it's a minimalist decor :) I have no kitchen gadgets either as we discovered last week and I can't stand things on the worktops so don't have canisters for tea, coffee and sugar either :rotfl:

Have just come to bed after watching a terrifying programme on Channel 4 about a mayor's idea to arm each teacher in schools in his district. He got it through in one school:eek: It makes no sense to me to solve the mass shootings in schools by putting a gun in every classroom.

Sorry for waffling about it but the cat wasn't interested in hearing my views ;)

My cheats risotto was ok in a pinch but I prefer homemade. This was in the cupboard as one of my sons used to eat them and he's lived away from home for 18 months:eek:

Have got some sausages out of the freezer for tomorrow night, haven't yet decided what to have them with or which way to cook them.
