BRAMBLING I have varifocals n have to take my specs off to read books, n online :o

Candy I have a second pair of glasses what they called occupational lenses which are just for reading and screen work as I found at work it was difficult to read the screen, too much moving my head up and down to find the right spot :o when I'm wearing them everything more than a metre away starts to blur, not always a bad thing as long as I remember to swap before driving home :rotfl: I don't have to use them when using the tablet at home

    :wave:Good morning everyone,

I haven't been about as life has been really hectic. I'll get a proper catch up on the 2nd:)
Hope your back is settling Wednesday <hug> and everyone enjoyed Christmas. Mine has been busy, chaotic but thoroughly enjoyable and we having folk round tonight for Greek food.

I'll happily cook for pleasure but cleaning brings me no joy at all. With the kids home my usually tidy house isn't but I'm just ignoring it.....;) That said I'm just off to give the bathroom a much needed go over before the offspring appear. Both my boys were on respective days out yesterday so I'll be a nice Mum and not hoover as I suspect they may be feeling rather fragile.:rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl:they are both up and seemingly ok! Elder is off to watch footie and younger is making a fry up. Can't complain as he's just made me a rather nice decaff coffee:)
  • Up & about early, go back to sleep fail:(

But meant i had plenty of time for porridge, then into town at last, it was very quite in town, I guess everyone else went mad shopping Boxing Day

Nothing I really needed except fresh air, but did find 1/2 price celebrations choc [£2], and YS "easy peelers" which will do just fine for the eventual trifle when I make it over the next few days

W#rose had reduced posh mince pies, pack of them, and on offer Heck bangers, pack of them, I'll get some more next time for freezer storage

Lunch was last of the PB baguettes with BLT filling

Dinner, still on track for pork chop & roast veggies

Had a quick 45 minutes of garden tidying, remove the old dahlia tops to let some light in now the daffs are poking through
Had to stop because back was twinging, only needed carrying to compost Dalek but I know the signs of when to stop, plenty of time to do the final bit

  • I've been working, so no time to do anything much.
Work lunches have been cheese & something sandwiches using the "old English white" bread. It's definitely not worth £1.75 a 400g loaf.

Glad I've got the frozen pasta bake portions as two of those are gonna be work lunch tomorrow & Monday, with some biscuits & a flask of coffee as the work coffee machine is broken again.

I'm trying to hold out on going big food shopping for as long as I can & eat up what's been lurking in the freezer or cupboards for months... the grocery challenge thread has so many recipes I'm hoping it'll inspire me to use things up tastily.

Hi to Pastures New, as well. I'm looking forward to you coming back & updating us on Xmas, house selling & CFO!

I was in the Indian again yesterday, my sister asked me and dgson, to go with her and her dgson.
    I had garlic chicken .
I was in work at 8am and had beans on toast for lunch. Tea is in the oven now , tempura chicken with chips, garlic mayo and grated cheese.
Possibly a mince pie, and find out if the cream has gone off!!

  • Decided on HM cheese & tomato pizzas, using a couple of white pittas from the freezer. 4ldi pitta breads are always a lot smaller than T ones. Which I'm quite happy about as it means two are just right whereas the T ones are like a "large" portion.

I've a tiny bit of double cream left & nothing to use it with...
