So dinner tonight was yet another stirfry (with tofu in on this occasion) and a grain with it (not quite sure - think it was sorghum seeds - as I didn't label it). You can tell I'm in the process of springcleaning and, right at the moment, it's the larders turn. I must have bought that sorghum seeds to try out back when I had some particular recipe or two in mind for them - and never got round to it.

Yep.....mine is the larder I've discovered 4 lots of coconut cream (hope it doesn't go off....)

I've also got my kitchen "gadgetry" in there - now when and why did I end up buying 2 different pizza stones - and I've not used either of them yet....:o.

But then - I'm currently springcleaning/organising my way through my house and getting things "sorted" to within an inch of their life in everything being logically organised. Fast coming to the conclusion that I must have spent quite a bit of time with "my eye off the ball" during The Hassles (ie troubled period of life for a variety of reasons that only really concluded a couple of years ago).

Determined that the second I step onto my property everything-but-everything is going to be Logical - as gawdknows so much is illogical the second I've even stepped 1' off my property - that it does help to breathe a sigh of relief at everything being logical/rational the second I'm onto my own property. I do like there to be A Reason for things - other than emotions:rotfl:

Money when you've finished your spring cleaning / reorganisation do you want to come do mine :D. I've decided this year I'm going to be ruthless as much of the stuff in my spare bedrooms haven't been touched since last new year.

No CFO today i went to friends for a late lunch and we just seemed to pick all afternoon and evening  we won't talk about diets  my sister and nephews were also there so much eating, game playing and some putting the world to rights with 11 of us there.

Back to normal tomorrow, I think the box of chocolates and biscuits are going to have to stay hidden until I can take them to work on Wednesday

Don't tempt me Brambling:rotfl::rotfl:. I'm actually quite partial to Reorganising Things in other contexts:)

Before now I've heard there have been comments of "Oh a 'whirlwind' has obviously been through here" - as I regard one of my roles in life in any organisation I'm doing some voluntary work for as "Look around and check everything is being done logically/all well-organised/etc/etc". Have managed to introduce quite a bit of "logic" into the latest organisation I'm doing voluntary stuff in - but I don't think Logic is very popular in this area - so hamstringed rather from getting it fully logical:cool: Frustrated at that:(

But - yes - I'm a great thrower-out of rubbish/person for doing "time and motion studies" on things to make sure they function as easily and quickly as possible etc. I do like to know that I can put my finger on things instantly and so could anyone else (even if I wasn't around to explain The System to them).

There ya' go - if I'm ever in your area - you can bribe me with food & booze and I'll "start chucking":rotfl:. I do tend to think ideal jobs for me would probably include one of those house organiser people or, if I had a car, professional house-hunter.

Probably one of the "positive" sides of having the parents I've got - when you've got a father that is ex Armed Forces and then became a teacher and a mother who was a personal secretary = learning about the virtues of being organised comes with the territory and you never let Emotion be the only thing dictating actions if you can help it - far too illogical:rotfl: The quickest way to see an obviously puzzled look on my face is when I can tell that decisions based purely on Emotion have been made - and my face is probably a picture, as I'm trying and trying to think "How does that work out Logically? What's the Logical reasons behind that - I can't see any?"

Speaking of which - Pastures is due back "on the scene" this morning with the ban lifted. The forum usually takes a day or two after the "deadline" has passed before they lift bans though I've noticed....

Morning all, I decided to throw the little bit of cream away, I couldn't decide if it was turning or not and didn't want to risk a dodgy tummy, as it wasn't the best last night anyway, might have had a touch of cross contamination at work with the beans!!!:o
So I had giant choc buttons instead of mince pie.
I've just had toast with seriously strong cheese spread. Then I'll be having cheese salad roll and yogurt for lunch at work.
Tea is undecided yet. But thinking it might involve sprouts and cauli, so may get a salmon fillet out.
Another mild day ,though it seems to be doing the invisible rain!!

    'Morning all, and maybe PN?

My back has taken a lead from Wednesday's, must have overdone lifting the plant troughs yesterday, I nearly dropped the roast veggies getting them out of the oven later, my back gave an awful twinge, could hardly reach them in the oven:(

Luckily today is dull and I had no intention of going out anyway so seems like an ideal rest & read sort of day ahead. I received three books as Christmas pressies so plenty of material

    Porridge breakfast, again

Lunch, will be bacon, lettuce & tom sarnie.
Goodness knows what is in bread these days but I've a LO white sliced in my fridge, been there nearly a fortnight, but feels & looks as "fresh" as the day I bought it, Co-op's own, not one of Novice's YS £1.75 ones;)

Dinner, not sure, but the Heck bangers I bought on offer yesterday will be in there
I've choice of try out the frozen mash for first time, with tinned beans, or frozen oven chips & eggs?

Either option is not going to tax my CFO skills, or twinged back
Weather is pointing me towards comforting bangers & mash:)

I may snack on mince pies, stollen, fruit cake and co-codamol

  • I just got up so I've had a banana, lots of water and am about to have chips from the oven in olive oil and have them with lots of ketchup.

I know what I fancy having later today, some cocoa made with almond milk.:A

You must be poorly if can't finish chips:D
Know what you mean about cocoa, I've been fancying hot chocolate for weeks now, but plain old cow milk for me

My back has eased a bit now, just [STRIKE]lolling in recliner[/STRIKE] sitting orthopedically watching Netfl1x & scoffing seems to have worked wonders;)

Dinner firmed up,bangers, nuked frozen mash, tinned beans, grilled wrinkled nearly compost tomatoes

Could be last of the walnut cake for later

  • I've been home from work since 3pm. Stopped by T for a normal loaf of brown bread & now happily toasting in front of my little fan heater. I shouldn't use it as often, it's expensive - bit it's one of those little luxuries I enjoy & feel I can treat myself to. :) CH has come on now, so I'll plonk myself next to that instead.

I'm drinking my way through the last of the coffee I took to work in the wonder-flask. Still really hot now, 7 hours later. Wish I'd had the sense to buy a decent one years ago instead of the cheapie £5 ones.

No idea about tea. I've 6 eggs, but might need them for egg sandwiches for work next week. I've frozen Richmond sausages. May have those with HM wedges, make two hotdogs with the last of the frozen PB petit pains to get them out of the freezer.
  • Farway, I'd buy another one of those loaves if it was YS again, but definitely not at £1.75! It was nice & soft, even though the BBE date was that day.
Today's loaf was a standard T medium sliced WM one. Sainsbobs ones are good, too.

Two frozen sausages are now in the oven slowly cooking. I'll be doing the hotdogs, I think.
Gonna sit down with my notepad & begin constructing the Big Food Shop shopping list for when I finally run out of store/freezer stuff. Might try a bit of a meal plan too.
