Good morning everyone,
A sunny 17C here and feeling very pleasant. I have physio at lunch time and will nip to the grocer's after for a cauliflower but apart from that I plan to enjoy the good weather. Chicken salad for lunch and HM Korean style bbq beef kebabs with cauli rice/rice and steamed veg for dinner.

Still 30/31 here 🥵
Thankfully the house has stayed relatively cool and other than a few minutes at a time in the garden, I haven’t been anywhere.
Houmous, carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, feta, olives and pitta bread for lunch. Just boiling some baby potatoes for a smoked salmon, potato and watercress salad. Too hot for anything else!

The highest we got was 32c today I know the car was painful to get in after I parked it outside my sisters for 3 hours before lunch, seat and steering wheel both extremely hot to touch 🥵
For the first time in years I saw a jackdaw around here today, I have a vague memory of my dad nursing one back to health he kept it in a old rabbit hutch until it could be released I think it was young but I can't remember how it was hurt or if it was because it was too young. My mum told us they could be taught to talk so I remember being upset not being able to keep and train it. My sister told me that the last couple of nights there have been a murmuration of them between two trees in the allotment behind her.
Tea and biscuits with my sister whilst we caught up so no lunch required
Salmon quiche, new potatoes and salad for dinner

Good morning everyone,
Jackdaws are prolific here Brambling, I often see pairs or small groups of them in the garden, Chatty, cheeky, nosy things and not at all scared of the pooches.
High teens for us today and it's forecast to be the sunniest day this week. Tomorrow and Thursday are to be warmer but overcast.
Didn't manage to get a cauli at the grocer's yesterday but did manage to buy a bag of the most lush cherries. I had to restrain myself not to scoff the lot on the way home! Korean style kebab skewers were a success definitely on the make again list. No LOs so fridge gravel salad followed by cherries for lunch. This evening we're heading to Glasgow to return Frank, have dinner and give DGD her bath😁

I'm really not looking forward to going into London today. I'm getting a taxi to the local train station, but I am dreading the walk from Embankment to the hotel. I can go there by tube but I'm not sure if that would be better or worse!
I have had a yoghurt so far. I'm eating at 5 so I might just have some cereal before I leave.I have run out of bread.

So hot I've even amended tomorrow's Asda order to include some choc ices, not had those since childhood, so long back the only one I remember are Wall's 3d [threepenny]bricks
Lunch, tinned corned beef & tomato sandwich
Dinner, corned beef salad, no cooking

Was quite hot here yesterday and I didnt do any cooking at all, salad for lunch and dinner was greek beans straight from the tin with some feta, more salad and crusty bread.
Today is a bit cooler so I’ll get cooking again, hard boiled egg salad for lunch and tonight I’ll heat up the rest of the greek beans, grill sausages from the local butcher and steam some ps broccoli.

Another hot day here and unfortunately I had to work. Started early and it was an easy day so finished early too. It has cooled down this evening.
Houmous and grated carrot pitta bread sandwich for lunch. Chargrilled (on the bbq) courgette, feta, lemon and caper salad with new potatoes tonight 😋

another day hidden behind closed curtains, I don't do heat very well. My sister has been painting garden furniture outside I'm not convinced we are related! She loves the sun and her olive skin tans just by looking at it. I'm more of a delicate English rose ! 😁 ok maybe not delicate but delivered pale English skin which burns just by thinking about the sun 🌞🥵
cheese, apple and some crackers for lunch
I had some potato croquettes in the freezer which just required AF and I quickly fried a egg

@Brambling - Sounds like my family. My closest in age sister and I have the freckles and light skin, our other sister actually tans when out in the sun. So unfair. When I was visiting over there, I blended right in - so much so that people would stop me to ask for directions. I keep track the first trip - 34 times. The next couple of dozen trips, I didn't bother to keep track it happened so often when I was out walking. London area is hotter than we are right now. Only 19C here today.
