I forgot to hit post last night!
My sister and I went down to the coast for breakfast and a walk, there was a nice breeze down there and it felt overcast however I realised when I got home that I had forgot to add sun protection in the V of my tee shirt and have gone red there.
Volunteer event at Petworth late afternoon / early evening we were allowed to wander around the private gardens of his lordship then had drinks (unfortunately not wine in my case) and nibbles.
Home via Sainsbury's to pick up chicken thighs using a nectar voucher and today was last day. I had promised my sister a pack, £4.70 for 2 kgs. I did refuse to debone and skin them when I dropped them off. My reward a cobble from the little one who was having a sleepover at grandmas and told me she was getting 10 bedtime stories

I had a day away yesterday too, thankfully it was a bit overcast and much cooler so not too bad for travelling around.
It's a lovely sunny morning and supposed to get to 21c today, I've been out early to the bakers and the fishmonger as they sell out quickly on a Friday.
Lunch will be pate on toast and despite the heat I fancy some haddock, chips and peas tonight with the obligatory slice of bread and butter 😁

Good morning everyone,
Grey, showery and back to low teens here. Looking at the forecast I doubt we'll be using the gas grill for a good bit. The rotisserie chook we cooked yesterday was the best one yet and there's lots left for lunches for a few days. Admin again on the "to do" today. Chicken salad for lunch and tbc for dinner,

Dull and a bit cooler, and I'm glad of it as well, the heat is exhausting me, along with lack of proper night's sleep, but on the plus side, at least I do not have to go to work or commute
N2b despite the heat I fancy some haddock, chips and peas tonight with the obligatory slice of bread and butter 😁 So do I. but I'll not be doing any, maybe next week?
Lunch, salad sarnie
Dinner, LO tinned corned beef + salad. Found expired Covid BBE tin of new spuds lurking, so I'll open those and see.

I took the bus to Basildon yesterday to go to the newish cinema there. I forgot to bring my neck fan and the bus was boiling. I was so glad to get home. I ate out at one of the Lounge restaurants and had a curry. The restaurant and the cinema were air conditioned at least.
I just had some strawberries and a yoghurt. It feels cooler today.

Another hot & sunny day ahead, the choc ices I bought along with my delivery are ideal in this weather
Lunch, last of the tinned corned beef with a bit of salad in a sandwich
Dinner, Sirloin steak, part of a multi buy offer, fried eggs, mushrooms & AF chips

Good morning everyone,
Not warm sunshine here, it's 14C and tipping it down. I'm hoping the rain might go off for a bit so I can do a much needed bin run.
Ended up baking salmon & veg in foil with hoisin sauce, garlic and chilli for dinner last night. LOs for lunch. Trying this for dinner tonight with additional salad and cauli rice. Buffalo tofu and black bean fajita bowls | Tesco Real Food

It’s a tad overcast here too but still pleasantly warm, although the is rain due to arrive here around teatime I think.
Small piece of hot smoked salmon and salad for lunch and a bit of lazy indulgence with a YS pizza I found in the local coop for tonight.

Today was as hot as yesterday about 28c which for me is still too hot 🥵 It's meant to drop to 22c tomorrow and then down to 17c.
A pottering day doing not a lot other than some finance stuff moving cash ready for new windows and decorating later in year. Guttering was cleared and a bit repaired yesterday and as told previously I was advised the front needs replacing as it's as old as the house mid 1960s and getting brittle. The back was done 10/11 years ago. I've asked for a quote and to include painting the fascia or soffit (can't remember which is which) in the front. I just need the boiler to forget it's 21 for a little longer!
Called EF this afternoon she's has a cold so I'm not visiting, she ranted for about 45mins, it doesn't help that the local authority are taking months to move her back to town, we also had the moving back home conversation over and over. I'm not unsympathetic but there's not a lot more I can do. I resisted a gin tonight!
Tinned mackerel on toast for lunch.
I popped into Waitrose for milk and to use my vouchers and picked up some half price marinated Herring from their deli counter I wished I picked up more it was delicious with a crusty roll and some salad.
