A more enjoyable temperature for me today, still tee shirt weather but cooler although it did start to drizzle late afternoon/ early evening.
I paid the deposit for new back windows, back door and French windows to replace the dining room window and the man came out to survey and discussing final details. Hopefully it will be 5 to 6 weeks as long as it's done before the decorating in September 🙂 the existing ones are all about 35+ years old and need replacing, a couple worry me when opening and closing!
He came lunchtime so a late lunch for me of just a bowl of yogurt with cooked rhubarb and strawberries 😋
I found a YS lamb steak in the freezer which was panned fried I made a herb, sun dried tomato, caper Chimichurri type sauce to go with the lamb and cooked some green veg and jersey royals

Rain overnight, good for the parched garden and hopefully my hay fever, supposed to be showers on & off for rest of the week, certainly tomorrow when I go to Specsavers for eye test it will tip down
N2BT Last of the tasty IofW toms from m&s in a sandwich using the bakers granary bread, lettuce, salt and pepper - simple and delicious. Local Greengrocer near my Specsavers has IOW toms in season, I'll have to look, I had some last year but unless I'm in town he's not on my normal shop
Lunch, BLT again
Dinner, use up mushroom omelette, with LO tinned new spuds & salad

Wagamama's was nice yesterday. It feels much cooler and it is meant to be thundery showers here today. I have had a yoghurt and I'm about to have some strawberries. I have lots of food so i will make a proper dinner and lunch as I have lots of fresh veg in the fridge and I'm not going out today.

Good afternoon everyone,
Sunshine and heavy showers here but on the chilly side. I had a fab time with my friends and it wasn't too late a night. Our days of partying into the wee hours are well gone! I'm being well lentiled this week with the pollock & lentil dish on Sunday LOs of that for lunch yesterday, my friend made a tasty lentil lasagne and tonight carrot & cashew curry also has some in it. Lunch, however, will be lentil free - mushroom, spinach and corn miso soup with boiled eggs.

Farway I would definitely recommend the IofW toms if you can get them, they're the best I’ve tasted since I used to grow my own in the spare bedroom window.
Another mixed bag of weather here, sea haar, drizzle, sunshine and heavy rain, all we need is hail to notch up four seasons in one day.
Quick lunch of a smoothie and a bag of crisps before going bowling.
I cooked a couple of chicken thighs in the SC yesterday and will use some tonight with little gem leaves and a cucumber, radish and celery salad with pomegranate molasses dressing.

Much nicer weather than forecast here today, bit overcast to start but turned into a lovely afternoon and evening. Office day but got out for a half hour walk when I got home.
Roasted carrot, dried cranberry, feta and pecan couscous for lunch. The LO Chinese pork steak was turned into egg fried rice tonight with baby corn, red pepper and sugar snap peas.

what a difference a few days make we've had heavy storms (guttering repairs have worked) thunder and then a hail storm with pretty big balls of ice raining down, my peonies were looking beautiful the two dark pink/red ones had nearly ten heads each have been flattened as has my pale pink one which came originally from my grans via my mum and older sister it flowered for the first time in years after moving it, just the one head I was quite excited, it lasted two days 😕
Popped out to glazing company shop to choose bathroom glass and handles. I did go into the garden centre around the corner on the way home to look at herbs, it tipped down so I avoided going outside but killing time waiting for it to slow down I wandered into sad corner and picked up three plants for £13 rather than £45 they look healthy one was a spring flowering one. I forgot to go back to look at herbs!
Picked up some reduced Cornish Yarg wrapped in wild garlic rather than nettles in their farm shop which I had for lunch with some crackers
Vegetable and lentil chilli with rice for dinner

Good morning everyone,
Hope your peonies recover Brambling.
Thundery showers and chilly here today, just 11C so far. The stove may well get lit tonight!
The carrot and cashew curry from the Hugh F-W was really good. The only tweaks I made were to air fry the carrots at the start rather than shallow fry and I used light coconut milk. The recipe said served four but we both had a decent portion last night, there's a portion for my lunch and 2 portions for the freezer. Not sure how it will freeze but if the texture isn't fab on defrosting I reckon it would make a lovely blended soup.
Domestics and voluntary admin on the "to do" today. CFO tonight, still tbc but will most likely be a salmon or chicken oven bung in.

I was supposed to go out for a walk in the woods today, but it was postponed due to the rain. I have had a yoghurt and I'm going to make a sandwich for lunch.

Had same storm as you Brambling, my stately foxgloves are very battered today, rain started again this morning as I left Morries, looks set for a while now
Found a couple of YS RMs in Morries so dinner sorted at least
