Nice sunny day and blue sky. Unfortunately I seem to have a minor lurgy, sneezing away & feeling achey & not right. Luckily nothing planned or urgent so a day in front of TV with a hot drink, or Lemsip type, will do me good

Meals, I'll be just picking at what I find, cold roast chicken, cheese, cereal maybe? toast etc. One good thing about CFO is the ability to please yourself on food choices

Another lovely day here although it still feels quite chilly first thing.

I soaked some chickpeas overnight and got them in the SC early this morning. They didn't take too long to cook so I froze most of them but used some to make mini “bite sized” falafel which will be handy for lunchtime pittas or salads.

Potatoes were starting to go a bit sprouty so I roasted some whilst the oven was on for the falafel, they’ll go in the freezer and I used the rest to made a pot of potato & leek soup for lunch.

Chilli con carne with chips and a sweetcorn salsa tonight.

Beautiful day here, load of washing dry, all but cuffs of a sweatshirt, this afternoon.

Did a pile of ironing while I watched Saturday Kitchen this morning, and have done some more sorting and decluttering plus a fairly big grocery shop.

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch. Chipotle black bean and feta fajitas tonight, used up the jar of chipotle, the end of a sad red pepper and some little gem lettuce.

it definitely feels spring like again today 🌞

I did some pottering at home this morning and then around to EFs flat I had been given instructions on a couple of things she wanted and a small shopping list when she called lunchtime. I did some sorting when I was there but gave up on running a quick wash in her dish washer before taking kitchen stuff to CS I didn't want to wait nearly four hours or leave it running and I couldn't get it to do a quick wash. What's wrong with dials or buttons!

LO orzo salad for lunch. Thick pork chop with mashed potatoes (normal and sweet potato) broccoli, green beans and carrots.

Overnight oats for breakfast, not as brilliant as I’d been hoping so I might just make them the ordinary way in future and use up the ingredients another way. Red pepper Hoummus bagel for lunch and leftover mutter paneer with rice for dinner.

The weather is starting to go downhill again, it’s cloudy today and I think later on the temp goes back down to single figures for a few days but at least there’s more daylight hours which cheers me up no end.

It's going to be a lazy not CFO grazing type of day, I’ve got lots of “bits” to use up so I’ve prepped salad, tzatziki and pickles, bought a small crusty baguette, there’s some of the antipasti platter and couscous left as well as the falafel I made yesterday. I’ve also defrosted a couple of kofta meatballs, pitta and pomegranate so plenty to choose from.

My lurgy was short lived, couple of Lemsips and a good night's sleep and I'm back to normal again.

As part of my eating what i felt like yesterday I had some stewed apple out defrosting, from my 2024 apples, so due to be used. Never had any of it, so this morning I've made a crumble for later

Meals today are more of the pick at what I fancy, still have cold roast chicken in the fridge, maybe with some AF chips?

The sun was making it’s way out of the mist when I went out to my social walk but the mist won over in the end and it got quite chilly during the afternoon. Load of towels went on the heated airer 🙄

LO chipotle black beans with grated cheese and lettuce in a toasted wrap for lunch. Made two individual cottage pies this evening so one of those with broccoli for tea.

I drove down with my local sister to visit my sister who lives in the New Forest to play musical cars 😁 my BIL is giving up driving he's 83 and my sis there doesn't drive so my sister here has been gifted his car, she's gifting her car to her son as his car has just died and isn't worth repairing. So she needed a lift down today, it was cold 3c when we left at 8am but turned into a nice day just the usual road works on M27 🥱 my BILs Honda may be 2018 but only has 24000 on the clock and is younger than hers.

My sis and BIL have gone mad and got a puppy, very tiny and very cute but 8 weeks old! My BIL is 83 and my sis 80 in Oct. It will also be very spoilt by my BIL 🙂the agreed no sleeping upstairs and especially not on the bed lasted one night. It's very tiny and quick I can see it tripping someone up. I did joke I'll come and collect it once they have toilet trained it, currently smaller than his lordship and I'm sure could be cat flap trained 😁 his lordship may not agree 🙀

Lunch at my sisters 😋 so just a couple of the scones she sent back with me for dinner, unfortunately no cream in the house

    Hazy sun and cooler.

That pup looks lovely Brambling, be hard for anyone to resist, given the ages you may yet finish up as the keeper

My lurgy is still lurking, was fine most of yesterday but worn out & shivering mid evening and glad of Lemsip& bed. Feeling fine again this morning

Still indifferent to food, so more picking away, I was glad for the HM apple crumble, ideal for digging in when fancied, for some reason I just can't rouse enthusiasm for the cold roast chicken so that my finish up in the freezer for another time

Lunch & dinner, TBD, more picking I suspect
