I haven't had a pee test in God knows how long, that does sound confusing!

I went to Superdrug and to look around the shops while my cleaner was here. I got caught in the rain so I headed home just as she left which was handy.

I tried to buy a sandwich from Waitrose, but it wasn't in stock. I had some lemon and herb bites with coleslaw and salad when I got home as I went out without breakfast.

Not a bad day here but I was stuck in a meeting room all day. Turned into a lovely evening so got out for a walk when I got home.

LO spicy sesame mushroom spaghetti for lunch. Salmon fillet with pesto and green bean pasta tonight.

Brambling

I had a reminder yesterday that I had a hygienist appointment today, just as well as I forgot to put on my calendar. Always an expensive way to spend 30 minutes. I picked up some chicken thighs for my sister as ihad £1.30 off using nectar so dropped them at hers and then popped around to EF flat where I was on my hands and knees on her path checking to see which was her water meter. Personally I think it's the one indoors as that serial number matches but she s convinced they read outside and in. I had to read the meter(s) and run water, wait 20 mins and read again. I'm going back tomorrow to check it has remained unchanged over night. She has been paying £77 a month after a large bill last September.

I brought a tiger loaf and had a pork and piccalilli sandwich for lunch.

Raining again, supposed to improve for the weekend.

At least the rain helps my peas; I picked a handful of Mange Tout yesterday and steamed them for dinner, with more to come.

Good morning everyone,

And the rain came tumbling down… Pouring here and just 11C, it's supposed to warm up a bit though not dry up as the day goes on, we'll see but I think I'll set the stove in case we need it tonight.

Various chores to do day and I need finalise my Tesco order. I managed to pull together a 5 week meal plan that got the thumbs up from DS2. It will no doubt get tweaked but should see us through a busy few weeks until DS1 breaks for some leave.

The mushroom and tofu curry was lovely, though like a lot of Tesco recipes the seasoning and spicing needed a bit of tweaking. Air frying the tofu cubes first was a win as it gave a bit of texture to what would otherwise have been a very soft dish. There's tofu-less LOs which we'll have for lunch with fried eggs.

DS1 and DIL called a Tebay farm shop on their way back from Manchester recently and kindly got us a pack of Moroccan lamb meatballs. There's six very large meatballs so I'll turn them into mini meatballs so they'll do us twice. We'll have some tonight with HM tomato sauce, pasta and salad.

It is pouring with rain here.

I just had toast and Flora and Vegemite. I have leftovers for dinner, but not sure about lunch yet.

Rained all day here until late afternoon, still a bit damp and grey now. Need to go out to an appointment in a bit.

Scrambled eggs and avocado on toast for lunch. Just had spiced hake, new potato and purple sprouting broccoli traybake with lime and coriander yoghurt 😋

Brambling

it rained most of the day until about 5pm, just as well my hair appointment was postponed due to hairdresser sickness although I didn't appreciate the 6am text at the time. I couldn't get back to sleep so a early start for me.

I had a couple of things to do outside the town so came back via the art shop and the the farm shop for some pork and apple burgers, pork and leek sausages and some lamb mince which is always lean and at the moment about £6 a kilo cheaper.

Bookshelves were sorted this afternoon and once it stopped raining I went out to fill my garden bin for tomorrow, everything was too wet to enjoy it! Chatting to my neighbour he told me he had found out the name of 'not my cat' it seems it is the same name as my cat which will explain why he comes running when I call mine 😁 although he does also respond to my whistle.

Received my £100 from the nationwide today, I have a list on how to spend it 😁

Dull & windy, looking forward to a supposed to be sunnier weekend

Lunch, last of the ham, maybe in a sandwich or perhaps with scrambled eggs?

Dinner, planning on tuna / mayo-filled baked spud + salad, but if it keeps dull & cold I'll have something reheated from the freezer

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was such a manky day and the stove did get lit yesterday evening as despite a sweater and socks I was still chilly. Today there is at least some sunshine between downpours though it's not any warmer, I think I'll set the stove again in case we want it on tonight.

The Tebay lamb meatballs were lovely though my plans for them doing us for two meals were scuppered when DS2 declared himself ravenous and had seconds so it's LOs for lunch. Usual Friday tbc for dinner, no doubt some sort of fish or chicken oven bung in!
