    Good morning everyone,

Yesterday's "meet & greet" went really well. Pooches were puzzled but not demanding. Frank was overjoyed to see DS1 and DIL. DIL's mum arrives today and they are bringing her here tomorrow to meet him as she's not been over since they got him. If that goes well he'll go home for the weekend and we'll review from there if he comes back here for a bit or not. Lunch was enjoyed, I had made a huge pot of soup so a big tub went to Glasgow and there's a portion left for lunch today. I've defrosted a small gammon joint to make lentil soup for tomorrow and I'll roast a chook and make salad to go with it. Need to crack on with some admin today as it needs doing this week and then I'll see how much time I have. Trying this tonight thought just making a herby yoghurt sauce to go with it as DS2 isn't a massive tahini fan. Spiced Chicken Traybake | Traybake Recipes | Tesco Real Food

I don't really like tahini either Caronc. I find it very bitter.

I just went out for an errand and I only had a banana before I went out. I walked out past the sea on the way home. 😀 It is not very sunny like yesterday but bright and mild.

I was hungry when I got home so I had a bowl of strawberries, a green smoothie and a slice of sourdough toast with vegan butter.

It seems like spring here too, aside from the usual spring flowers I was surprised to see the gorse starting to bloom which seems a bit early for this part of the country but hopefully that will make it a better year for the bees.

I met up with a friend for a cuppa and a huge scone, I also had time to pop into tesco and get a new electric toothbrush on a good clubcard price 😁

Not very hungry for lunch but there’s fruit if I get peckish. Dinner tonight is mezze style with turkey kofta, tabbouleh, labneh, pitta bread, olives, radish, cucumber, etc, etc, etc.

Another one who doesn’t really get tahini, I’m the same about miso. I am however looking forward to my portion of dinner that N2BT has saved for me 😋

Back to damp and grey here, just did a short walk to M&S foodhall after work but no YS bargains for me so just got a nice bread roll to go with tomorrow’s soup.

Smoked mackerel pate, toast, cucumber and cherry tomatoes for lunch. Chipotle sweet potato and salmon traybake with tenderstem tonight. Needed a bit of Greek yoghurt to take the edge off the chipotle 😅

Back to grey and drizzling here too. It was lovely to see the first primroses out this morning along with a lot of daffodils along the verges. Completely a no no now but as kids we always picked a small bunch of primroses for my mum, I have the shallow green frosted glass bowl she always used for them.

Sorted and cleaned the fridge first thing before menu planning and writing the shopping list, I seem to have a abundance of potatoes and onions 🤔

Went into dunelm to collect a order and queried the weight of the box, when I opened it in the car there was only one item and not the set of two it was supposed to be, luckily the shop is two minutes away from the Sainsbury's carpark. They didn't have any in store so I got a refund.

I picked up a YS 20p small basic cheese and tomato pizza so added mushrooms and pepper to have for lunch.

Using up one of my many potatoes jacket potato with vegetable chilli from the freezer for dinner

Dull & damp, but supposed to have a dry spell until later, so maybe get pottering in garden later

Job I must get on with is finalising next weeks grocery delivery, not even started it yet. I got bogged down in insurance price comparisons, for car & building. The building original renewal quote was double last year's premium 😲. I've changed company now, one does have to shop about at times

    Lunch, another posh sausage bap

Dinner, the Marks chicken quarter legs, roasted and with LO mash

    Good morning everyone,

Cold here but bright and sunny so I'm not complaining about being chilly. Ham is cooked and soup is simmering once I pop the chook into roast lunch, apart from making salad, is pretty much sorted. 😊I'm looking forward to seeing DIL's Mum for the first time since 2019 when unfortunately she had just arrived when my Dad died. Fridge bits for dinner if I'm wanting anything later.

I have two classes today so I'm going to get showered and dressed in a minute. I am going to have my usual smoothie and sourdough toast and I need to look through the freezer and see what needs using up today as I will have lunch when I get home from the first class.

Oh my goodness Brambling re the primroses I’ve had major flashbacks, they used to grow along the steep back at the back of our house although they are called Spinkies here. I’ve also got mum’s green posy bowl that she put them in too, it’s shaped like a wide brimmed hat and not much use for anything else really.

Like others I’ve had a ys mooch in m&s this morning, got some croissants one of which I’ll have for lunch with some of last night's leftovers.

Also for dinner tonight I got a ys ultra thin spicy chicken arrabbiata pizza and as a treat a bottle of australian shiraz to go with it 😍

I got some daffodils just over a week ago, only threw them out yesterday, they were very cheery. More grey and damp today but fairly mild.

Office day so out early and back late. Broccoli and Stilton soup with a posh M&S crusty brown roll for lunch. LO creamy sausage and leek pasta with tenderstem broccoli tonight so nice and easy.
