    Good afternoon everyone,

Back to wet and grey here today with some very heavy showers.

I've had a fairly slothful day so far. My sis popped by to collect Ari and stayed for a cuppa and natter and I enjoyed a Nana nap this afternoon. Lunch was a chicken and sweetcorn baguette which used up the last of Friday's chicken. Dinner will be ham and lentil soup which apart from the portion I froze will finish that off too. Next soup will be spiced cauliflower and carrot as I have a wodge of cauliflower needing used sooner rather than later.

MIA yesterday but there wasn’t much CFOing anyway. Bit of lounging yesterday morning as I didn’t sleep very well due to annoying cough but then gave the bathroom a quick swish before going to have my hair cut. Picked up an order while in town and both items (including a pair of trousers, hallelujah!) fit and suited me. On a roll, I also got a casual jacket from a sale rail, which coordinates perfectly with the top I had just collected, this never happens to me 😅

Picked up a Waitrose meal deal for lunch, had the salad and drink when I got home but saved the snack to have as part of my mezze tea 😋

More domestics today including clearing the bits of ironing, and have been for a swim and done some life admin. LO mezze bits for lunch. Made pork, leek and cider casserole tonight, with a jacket spud and Savoy cabbage.

Feel all caught up and organised ahead of a busy week (and the cough has about gone too) 🙃

I woke still with sniffles and a headache but it hasn't developed further and no asthma today.

Friends popped in to return a plate this more and stayed for a couple of hours.

I was going to visit EF but as I wasn't sure if I was coming down with something stayed home, I did call her and she confirmed what her neighbour told me which she was not coming home if we could find a care home closer to town. She's accepting that she wouldn't be able to cope alone at home anymore. I promised to call cat Protection this week but will hold clearing stuff at her flat until she's spoken to the social worker on the 10th and confirms it with her. I'll start working out what stuff she has and if we know she is moving somewhere with a bigger room she can tell me what she wants to take with her. I shall be busy once I start clearing her flat and working out what to do with stuff.

Seafood stick and egg wrap for lunch. I roasted a quarter of chicken from the freezer for dinner (i previously quartered a large chicken) I did fancy a big dinner so just had the wing and a s,iced of breast with some veg. There's plenty left for cold tomorrow and maybe Tuesday

Nice and sunny, supposed to be Spring like all week, could the rain finally be done with?

Good & bad news on EF Brambling, at least she has a way ahead, busy times for you meanwhile. Hope the cat gets sorted as well.

Finalised my Asda delivery, seems to be a shortage of fish fingers, at least there is of proper whole cod ones. Not that it's critical as I only buy a coupe of packets a year, so bit longer without is not a great upset

Lunch, talking of fish, toasted tinned sardines on toast

Dinner, HM cauliflower cheese, using the beauty I got from Marks last week, and HM nuked cheese sauce

It is a gorgeous day here and it looks like the week will be nice, apart from rain on Friday.

I am meeting my friend from book group for lunch before the film. I feel a bit hungry now. but will ruin my appetite for lunch so will just have a smoothie now.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Hope all goes well with EF Brambling.

It was grey and miserable earlier but has cleared now and it's to dip to near freezing this evening.

Spent a chunk of the morning trying sort out an IKEA locker click & collect order that had got stuck at the pick and pack stage. Chatbot just went round in a loop but when I did speak to someone it was only a short wait and fingers crossed they'll deliver it to the house tomorrow.

Had a bowlful of the cauli, carrot and coriander soup I made yesterday for lunch. Folded omelettes with HM bbq sauce with rice and various veg for dinner.

It’s a gorgeous day here too, a bit chilly first thing but lovely spring sunshine, cheers me up no end 😎

Soup from the freezer for lunch and a vegetable stir-fry with shop bought spring rolls for dinner.

Very mild and a bit sunny here this morning but turned to rain and has cooled down, looks like they’re gritting too so must be getting colder overnight.

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch. Nigella’s gemelli with anchovies, tomatoes and mascarpone tonight (except I used penne and cream cheese, plus added peas 🤫). Was tasty.

lovely dry and sunny day 🙂

Spent a few hours at EF flat I sorted some of her food cupboards out there were loads packets with 2022 and 2023 dates when she stopped cooking for herself. I've a bag of in date stuff I'll drop off at the food bank tomorrow but haven't touched the freezer yet. I found some paperwork for her home insurance (I'm hoping she used the same insurer after last renewal as she doesn't remember!) and the cat Protection paperwork. I just wanted to get a feel what there is to sort later. The home called at 7.30pm to tell me she had an eye exam and everything was ok, I would have preferred that call earlier or in the morning.

I came home via my sisters for a cuppa and chat and to ask my youngest nephew to be my LPA! My sister seems to have the same symptoms as me minus the asthma, not feeling ill but not quite right.

Humus and grated carrot wrap for lunch. Creamy pasta sauce made with chicken and mushrooms and cream cheese with penne for dinner

Another pleasant weather day here, pale blue sky, sunshine & mild, last to Friday they say

Spring has arrived in the garden, blossom buds all showing colour but only plums are open so far, and from CFO viewpoint, my rhubarb is growing again, only a few leaves so far, bt crumbles in waiting

Lunch, made a fresh loaf in BM, so salad sarnie

No "proper" food in until Asda delivery tomorrow, so I've a YS chicken & mushroom RM pie thing from Morries out defrosting, I can add the nuked LO HM cauli cheese from yesterday if needed
