    Good morning everyone,

    I'm a Nana Brambling😁.

Very cold and trying to be sunny, a nice day to be out and about if you are well wrapped up.

I'm a tired teddy this morning, DS2 had to head off early doors and F was an unimpressed pooch so I'm short on a couple of hours sleep. I'm hoping I can get a nap later.

Last night's traybake was tasty though the broccoli went a bit mushy, there's LOs for lunch. Yesterday I made a pot of spiced tomato and lentil soup, some is destined for the freezer/Glasgow but a bowlful may well be dinner unless I CBA making anything else.

Misty start, but dry for the moment

Brambling asked Did you succumb to the chippy Farway?

Sort of, nearly 🙂, I was on my way but went into Morries mooching because it's on the way there, and found a YS Harry Ramsden haddock, so bought that & added some frozen chips when I got home. I had the other one for dinner, without any chips 😋morries haddock They are a very large portion of fish, fine if YS, probably OK on a meal deal

Lunch last of the HM chick soup

Dinner, LO chicken + jacket spud & salad bits

Finally the weather has flipped here, we have clear blue skies and sunshine but the price we pay was a very hard frost this morning. I do however prefer this to the wet, grey and windy weather we’ve had since mid January.

Edge of the seat olympic viewing this morning and I should manage to do some hoovering and dusting before I switch on to watch some snowboarding later.

Ham and coleslaw sandwich for lunch and beef in oyster sauce with noodles & ss peas for dinner.

I met my friend yesterday and we ate at the Royal Opera rooftop bar. It was nice. We ate at a very hyped up Italian restaurant which was less nice for dinner.

I just got something from Pret this morning to have on the train home.

We are forecast the bright, crisp weather tomorrow but today was mostly grey with wet snow and very cold 🥶

Portion of broccoli and Stilton soup and chunk of nice bread (both from the freezer) for lunch. Bit of a use up dinner - did a traybake of new potatoes, red pepper and feta with pesto, rosemary and garlic 😋

Now to see if we can get a first medal in sliding on ice at high speed 😂

you forgot to say on a tray JKS😁

my sister and I watched the end of men's skating not sure which kind! But the last three or four all fell over multiple times and the 'unbeatable' American dropped from 1st to 8th place, I loved the look on the face on the guy who hadn't fallen and went from 5th to gold metal, he definitely had a am I dreaming look on his face.

Volunteered day and it was dry until I was driving home at 4.30pm, I believe we will miss the snow but it's meant to get cold on Sunday.

Rice salad with prawns for lunch. LO pasta and bolognese for dinner. My sister is staying over but came after dinner.

  • Brambling I absolutely love rice salad but I like it with lots of different things in so it's not very conducive to cooking for one as I end up making a massive bowl and eating it every meal for a few days as rice doesn’t keep very well. I've accepted I can't really make it. Any tips for making a rice salad suitable for one gratefully received.

It is a lovely sunny day here, although chilly so I put the heating on.

I am going to make a blueberry, banana and spinach smoothie and then have toast with Flora and marmalade. I got a portion of soup out of the freezer to have for lunch. I think it was lentil and veg?

Sunny day ahead, the best this week so I hope to take advantage & do a spot of gardening while it's pleasant.

As a change from cereals I had eggs on toast for breakfast, warm me up for the gardening yet to come

Lunch, last of the HM chick soup

Dinner, still on the jacket spud, LO chicken + salad option. That on offer large chicken certainly has stretched & stretched this week
