Wednesday I had started to do Tai Chi about six months before covid shutdown and pre-hip and never picked it up again, by balance is such I used to stand near the wall in class.

Rain free day (so far!!) I had hospital visit today with EF, SW and OH and surprisingly she has agreed to try six weeks trial at a care home she still wants to go home but it will be interesting how she gets on outside the hospital environment.

Used the last of the tin of beans and had beans on toast for lunch.

Korean pork belly with vegetables and rice for dinner

  • Been watching the curling - got to see the match between Italy and the US. Looking forward to the match with Sweden (1/4 of my ancestry is Swedish).

Been having to do cooking for one as our normal cook here has been either in the hospital or drunk for the last two months. I'm getting better at it. Tonight is meatballs and noodles. Another roommate will be making meat loaf tomorrow for everybody while we watch curling. Maybe this time, he will even clean up the mess afterward.

Watery blue sky, but rain due later. never dry long enough to do much outside.

Better news on EF Brambling, a very good chance once she gets into car home she will like it and opt to stay, guess the SW may think the same, hence offer. One I know had to go in for a day while her flat was deep cleaned, she loved it and, with her dementia, she assumed it was "home"

Lunch, HM chick a leekie soup

Dinner, maybe the same, but chicken will be on eh menu whatever it si

    Good morning everyone,

Hope things work out okay with EF Brambling.

Grey, wet and chilly here. I've some chores and admin to catch up with but that's about the extent of my plans.

Lunch will be some the chicken, veg, lentil and barley soup I made on Sunday. I have pork medallions defrosting to make Thai Green curry tonight.

Isn't there also a famous hotel down your way Caronc that has its own curling rink?

JKS I’ve also been keeping an eye on some of the snowboarding and skiing events, in particular local lass, Kirsty Muir. But I’ll be willing Bruce and Jen on at lunchtime hoping they get a medal this time around before cheering them on in the Mens and Womens team events later this week. Hope you enjoy the final Weenancy, I’ll be watching too 😉

It’s still a bit dull and grey weather-wise but I am starting to notice the days are getting a little bit longer.

Turkey broth for lunch and tonight it’s tuna quiche, potato wedges, salad.

Brambling - I follow quite a few churches on FB now and they have classes for falls prevention and keeping steady as it is so important when you get older, especially if you live alone. I worry about it and I'm only going to be 50 in March. Having vertigo so many times it is very nice to feel more secure with my balance now. I'm definitely going to carry on with Qigong and I might try Tai Chi as well.

I slept in so I haven't had breakfast yet. I might have baked beans on toast with salad as I'm quite hungry.

    There is N2BT

North West Castle Hotel - Guest Reservations

It's a good bit further down than I am but I've stayed at a couple of times for work stuff though never got the chance to see the rink or pool.

Plans for today have gone to pot as I'm off to see DGD. 💕

lazy day for me, a little bit of wardrobe tidying and some Winter Olympics as well as a couple of telephone calls re EF care plans and the possibility that she wouldn't get placed in town.

Scrambled eggs on toast for lunch.

LO chicken and chorizo traybake with tenderstem broccoli and rice for dinner.

Nothing yet as I have a blood test today and I can't ever remember if I need to fast beforehand.
