    Good morning everyone,

    Dreary and chilly here.

DS2 is off to a wedding so I'm pooch sitting both Hector and Frank. I'm for a slothful day as I had a disrupted night though will probably make soup and the fridge could do with a sort out.

Soup from the freezer for lunch. Dinner is tbc, probably something from the freezer.

“There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing” an expression I do happen to agree with. So no more complaining here, after my online browse earlier in the week I’m happy to announce my waterproof parka arrived this morning  😁

I have some pasta salad leftover from yesterday but no chicken so I’ll add a hb egg and a grating of cheese to make up a decent portion for lunch.

Tonight it’s the last portion of the curry sauce I have in the freezer that is used for my prawn curry. I’ll do cauliflower rice for a change and have a mini naan to go with it, I just need to remember to defrost the prawns.

More cold, dreary & wet, not proper rain, just drizzle that hangs in the air. On a brighter note my first daffodil is opening up, a sure sign of better things to come. 😊

On that sign of optimism I've sown a couple of tomato seeds, too early really but you never know, heatwave starts 28 Feb.😎? They are small, basket suitable ones, ideal for window sill, so fingers crossed

Lunch, last of the small pork pies & slice bread & strawberry jam. No matter what brand I buy I keep coming back to Bon Mamam, it's the only readily available one I've found from main S/ms with real, whole, strawberries in

Dinner, was going to be HM male chicken a leekie soup, even saved the SC chicken stock, etc, but don't fancy it right now, so likely to be pick & mix bits from fridge, including chicken odds & s0ds

    Congrats Caronc.🥳

I had a pitta bread with Flora before I left for my class. I had lunch out in a cafe. A toastie with hash browns dipped in brown sauce. I still feel full.

I got caught in the drizzle on the way home as I popped into Iceland to see what meat-free products they had. It was surprisingly good so the freezer is now rammed. I don’t normally go to Iceland for groceries.

Ooh, congratulations caronc, how exciting! Hope you get baby cuddles soon 😊

Another miserable day here, I’ve been slothful too. Have ventured out to Lidl but that’s all, got strangely engrossed in the curling on the telly!

Spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Going to make a chorizo and artichoke flatbread pizza tonight, with coleslaw and salad.

congratulations Caronc & family Frank will be in for a shock 🙂

I met a friend for our monthly cuppa this morning thankfully in the John Lewis cafe as they have underground parking and it was heavy rain, it's also closer for her as she walks in. I picked up a few bits in Waitrose forgotten when i was in Tesco.

Youngest nephew is 30 today, not sure where that time has gone, he was going out after lunch so we had a family lunch with cake at my sisters'. I got baby cuddles 😁 baby is 3 months, a chunky baby (so was his dad) all smiles and he's discovered his voice and his hands 😍 little one insisted I got on the floor to play with her we spent ages builting things with magnetic tiles, she's not good at sharing her people yet with baby brother so it was pay back time for the cuddles.

I didn't get home until 6pm after toasted hot cross bun, his lordship was not amused 🙂 no need for dinner

I went out for a walk this morning and caught the briefest glimpse of pale blue sky and sunbeams breaking through the clouds 😀 On my way I popped into farmfoods to pick up a bag of dried chickpeas that’s on offer. I’ll soak some overnight then cook them tomorrow so that I have a batch in the freezer.

I love the Curling JKS and hopefully it will be on the tv or iplayer today at 13.35. A bag of salted popcorn just happened to fall into my basket in FF this morning so that will be my snack of choice whilst supporting Team GB.

Soup from the freezer stash for my lunch and I’ve put a lamb leg steak in the SC for dinner, which I'll have with the last portion of braised red cabbage from the freezer and whatever other veg needs to be used up.
