Damp & misty, mild enough though.

most exciting thing so far is read the gas meter, I've just changed tariffs with MSE energy club, only saved about £2 a month, but why not for zero effort? Help to off set the inevitable Council tax rises or whatever coming our way.

Lunch, made the chick a leekie soup, it's OK but not quite as I had imagined it would be

Dinner, TBD, but chicken will be involved, either in soup or sliced meat

    Good afternoon everyone,

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm hoping to have baby cuddles in the next few days. We're keeping Frank for a bit to let them get settled and then will introduce gradually. 💕

Milder but grey and damp here today. I had a great sleep last night but still quite tired today. DIL and DGD are doing well but will be in for another night.

Eggs with spinach and peppers for lunch. I've soup on the go so dinner will be chicken, veg, lentil and barley broth so of which will be going to Glasgow in due course.

A mostly dry day! Even saw the sun for a bit 🙃

Bed stripped and remade, bedroom dusted and hoovered and a load of towels through the machine (drying on the airer while the heating is on this evening). I’ve also been for a swim and then hoovered the car out while the weather was fine.

Bread and cheese with cherry tomatoes and coleslaw for lunch. Chorizo, red pepper and new potato stew with green beans tonight.

    Exciting curling today N2BT 😊

mostly dry here too and when it rained it was only drizzling.

I didn't sleep well last night so didn't appreciate the phone ringing which woke me up at 8am so I ignored it and spoke to EF later, I decided not to visit today as I'm meeting her and the SW tomorrow at 11am. When I spoke to her it was a good day, another day when she was convinced someone had told her she was going home today and she was sitting waiting 😕 should be a interesting meeting tomorrow although if it's a good day I'm not sure which way the SW will go.

Three loads of washing (my own for a change) done today including my bedding, which has just reminder me I haven't remade it yet.

Farway I meant to ask yesterday have you tried Bonne Maman strawberry and rhubarb jam? I've just finished a free jar from Waitrose 😋 however my marmalade from Lidl (the nicer range in similar shape jars to BM) is all thick chunks and not much else.

Beans on toast for lunch. I noticed that the 30p small tins from M&S have changed their label and also gone up from 30 -50p

Chicken and chorizo tray bake for dinner, although as I was plating I saw the onion and fresh tomatoes still sitting on the side 🙄

@caronc - Congratulations on the new little addition to the family.

My favorite part of the Olympics is the curling also. My roommate is taping it for me as it comes on in the middle of the night here.

@Brambling - I think that every time a label is changed, the price goes up. That is a big increase on the price of beans.

I went out for a local group walk yesterday and I dragged my husband along with me. It was to a local castle and the path was extremely muddy! My husband slipped over three times and so did other people. I shockingly didn't slip over once and I am thinking that is because I have been to Qigong classes now a couple of times. My balance has been terrible for decades, but I'm feeling much more stable and balanced. I think a few of us have balance problems on here so it might be worth thinking about trying a Qigong or Tai Chi class as it has really helped me.

I am going to have toast and a smoothie as usual. I have a Bol pot for lunch (chickpea jalfrezi) with a pitta bread and salad. I need to go and buy some lemons and mango chutney for the salad.

Watery sun & a pale blue sky for a nice change, and now I have some daffs out it is looking like Spring, at least for now

Not tried, but I will now 😁Unfortunately the Lidl I used moved to a larger store and then Covid & my mobility problems came along, so using LIdl, athough an option, is not straightforward, hence I have Asda delivery & use Morries for smaller shopping, easy parking & level ground

    Lunch, chicken & stuffing sarnie

Dinner, more chicken, either soup or slices with salad

Absolutely loving the curling JKS although I thought there were a few mistakes creeping in yesterday by both GB and Italy. Weenancy, the American supporters appear to be there in force and very enthusiastic 👏 I imagine there will be quite an atmosphere for their semi final against Italy tonight.

I went into the City this morning and met up with a friend for a catch up and a late breakfast roll so no need for any lunch.

Dinner is using up odds and ends - a mini portion of turkey curry I found in the freezer, I’ll add some of the chickpeas I cooked today and a few cauliflower florets to create a decent portion.

Back to grey today but was dry this afternoon so got out for a short walk after work, in the light!

I’ve moved onto snowboarding tonight, no idea what they’re talking about but they’re all bonkers 😝

Not sure where the day went but did most of what I needed to.

Posh fishfinger sandwich with the end of the coleslaw for lunch. Pesto pasta with green beans and salmon fillet tonight. Also decluttered some 🍷…🤫

    Good evening everyone,

I spent a good chunk of my teens at the local ice rink watching either curling or ice hockey. Very different sports but both mesmerising in their own way. I know a few curlers and it's much more skilled and physically challenging than it might look. Most of the curling stones used across the world are made just a few miles away.

Out for lunch today with an old friend, she's fairly recently become a step-nana so over and above putting the world to rights baby photos were shared. We both opted for their (very generous and tasty) sandwiches, I chose Mexican and chicken with salsa which was really tasty. Dinner tonight a tweaked/less faffy version of this Saag paneer omelette | Tesco Real Food which we had with chopped salad and minty yoghurt. It's on the "make again" list.
