Another day of grey weather, squally seas and strong winds. There have been reports on social media of young seals and puffins being washed ashore; luckily there is a rescue service to help the seals recover, sadly the puffins were dead 😥

I had a brisk walk to the fishmonger to pick up some frozen prawns and a piece of smoked haddock for tonight.

Lunch was scrambled eggs on toast and I’m going to try out a smoked haddock and lemony lentil recipe for dinner tonight.

We’ve finally had a day without the greyness, and it was dry until early evening. I walked to the library and back to swap my books over, was nice to get some fresh air and a leg stretch. Also moved laundry round and done a grocery shop.

Baked sweet potato with chipotle soured cream for lunch. Bacon, pea and ricotta risotto with green veg tonight.

I have had a lovely few days. I had the theatre in London, several meals out and I met my friend today and then went to a meetup for a meal.

I had delicious tacos in the Mexican restaurant tonight.🥰

what did you see at the theatre Wednesday?
Caronc we don't have meals on wheels any more, they suggest Wiltshire farm because the drivers will bring it in and put in the freezer and you or your carer just pings from frozen.

Petworth day for me, and it was not raining 🙂 the shop was quiet but still a nice day

My sister is staying tonight as my nephew has friends coming for dinner, he's starting his 30th birthday celebrations a week early, he doesn't drink and most of his mates are light drinkers so no wild parties, my sister is just giving up her bed for a couple.

Lunch was the same as yesterday, rice salad with tandoori chicken.

I roasted a couple of sea bass (Waitrose reduced from their fish counter 🙂) made a sauce of basil, parsley, sun dried tomatoes, capers, anchovies, olive oil and red wine vinegar. We had with new potatoes, French and runner beans and tenderstem broccoli 😋

Another cold & wet start, as befits February I guess, certainly not a day for casually going out

Even had a "proper" hot, cooked breakfast this morning, sausages & fried eggs, I just fancied something comforting

Lunch, no idea now after the breakfast, could be basic toast + ?

Dinner, more comfort food, back fifty years, braised steak & onions. The steak is supposed to be Frying top side, but it was Morries Offer and although it looks good I suspect it would be chewy if fried as a steak

20p Xmas veg for mash & carrots, 37p Morries cabbage Very MSE

Brambling - I saw Paranormal Activity at the theatre and it was quite scary! I'm very glad that I didn't read any reviews first as I was surprised. I bought a ticket to see it again while it is in London.

I am having some lemon water and I'm going to make a smoothie and toast before I go out.

    Good morning everyone,

Shame there's no meals on wheels service in the area Brambling, I hope you can find an option EF enjoys.

Oh braised steak and onions Farway, I had that not so long ago and enjoyed every bite.

Cold and grey but dry here. I'm feeling much fresher today, I'm definitely getting to old for this living it up malarkey lol! Apart from routine chores and 3 loads of laundry yesterday was pretty slothful. I did prep the base veg and meat for todays stew so just need to chop root veg today and cook it. I might chuck a handful of barley in I'll see later. I'm looking forward to a bowlful for dinner later. I'll be CFO as DS2 is off to a stag do in Glasgow. Lunch is going to be scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes.

Slightly brighter and milder day today, but still no good for getting washing out so I’m tending to do small loads to go on the heated airer so I don't end up with wet washing all over the flat.

Roast turkey dinner for a late lunch using some of the Christmas bird, roast pots & parsnips from the freezer and a good helping of brussel sprouts.

No supper tonight as I’ve been invited to a friend's for drinks and nibbles later, but there’s always crackers & cheese if I’m peckish when I get home.

Brighter and milder here too, there was actual sunshine this morning. Motivated me to clean the bathroom, do some hoovering and mop floors. Had an outing to local NT place this afternoon so more fresh air.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Salmon, new potato and artichoke traybake tonight with green salad.

we had dry weather in the middle of the day surrounded by rain, I forgot to take my jacket when hospital visiting and got caught in it this afternoon.

My sister stayed over so a slow start to the day 🙂

Smoked mackerel pate with crackers for lunch.

stir fried beef and vegetables on rice for dinner, I picked up a YS pack of stirfry vegetables in Sainsbury's on Friday and didn't realised it had coriander until I started to eat it 🤢 I picked out as much as I could but it was still tainted
